Jay-Z and Beyonce are possibly the world's most talked-about couple in the music industry.
Reports of Jay-Z's infidelity rocked fans last year when Beyonce released her album "Lemonade"and the lyrics of her songs bore it all. Soon after, Beyonce was pregnant with twins, Rumi and Sir, and everyone forgot what happened between the couple.
In a candid interview with a leading daily, Wednesday, Jay-Z opened up about that "phase" -- how hurtful it was to be in that pain and reveals that Beyonce's album "Lemonade" and Jay-Z's "4:44" was supposed to be a joint release.
Jay-Z was quoted:"It didn't happen in that way," when he responded to how he and Beyoncé discussed making two deeply personal albums. "We were using our art almost like a therapy session. And we started making music together."
"Themusic she was makingat that time was further along," he adds. "So her album came out as opposed to the joint album that we were working on. Um, we still have a lot of that music. And this is what it became."
"There was never a point where it was like, 'I’m making this album,'" he explains. "I was right there the entire time."

Both4:44andLemonade,became two critically acclaimed albums that deal with heavy topics of race and injustice, as well as personal issues concerning JAY-Z's admitted infidelity.
Jay-Z said, "Listening toeach other's music made usvery, very uncomfortable" but "The best place in the hurricane isin the middle of it."
He explained, "The best place is right in the middle of the pain. And that's where we were sitting. And it was uncomfortable. And we had a lot of conversations," he continues. "[I was] really proud of the music she made, and she was really proud of the art I released. And, you know, at the end of the day we really have a healthy respect for one another's craft. I think she's amazing."
Jay-Z has earned eight nominations for the 2018Grammys for his album "4:44" including 'Album of the Year'. He is leading the nominations this year.
