Former US President Donald Trump delivered an address following a historic verdict that held him guilty on 34 counts in a 2016 hush money case. The presumptive Republican presidential nominee blamed 'Biden and his people' for criminal conviction while speaking from Trump Tower in New York City. Trump said that he will appeal the verdict at a higher court.
"This is all done by Biden and his people," Trump said, while describing the hush moneytrial as "very unfair".
"As far asthe trial itself, it was veryunfair. We weren't allowed to use our electionexpert under any circumstances.You saw what happened to someof the witnesses that were onour side, they were literallycrucified by this man," he said.
Trump went on to criticise Judge Juan Merchan further, saying "he looks like an angel, buthe's really a devil."
Trump held a news conference, a day after a New York jury found him guilty of falsifying documents to cover up a payment to silence a porn star ahead of the 2016 election. Donald Trump is the first US president to be convicted of a crime.

"Thiswas a highly qualified lawyer," Trump said. "Now I'm not allowed to use hisname because of the gag order.But you know, he's asleazebag. Everybody knowsthat. Took me a while to findout, but he was effective."
"He got into trouble, not because of me," Trump said about his former fixer.
"He got into trouble because he made outside deals and he had something to do with taxi cabs and medallions that he borrowed money."
Donald Trump's speech following his felony conviction continues to show his resonance with his conservative base.
Biden responds
Less than an hour after Trump's press conference, US President Joe Biden took to X and said that Donald Trump is attacking the US court system and is a threat to democracy.
"Donald Trump is threatening our democracy. First, he questioned our election system. Then, he questioned our judicial system. And now, you can stop him," Biden said in a message on his personal Xaccount, appealing for supporters to donate to his campaign.
