Former diplomat Navdeep Suri has raised concerns over Punjab’s ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls after officials sought documents to verify his Indian citizenship. Suri said his details did not match the 2003 legacy electoral roll, prompting officials to ask for his passport. He questioned how ordinary citizens without passports or older records would meet similar documentation requirements.
