India unveils indigenous 30-kilowatt laser weapon with 5 km range

India has entered the elite league of nations developing directed energy weapons with the successful unveiling of a 30-kilowatt laser-based system. Developed by the Centre for High Energy Systems and Sciences (CHESS) under DRDO, the weapon can hit aerial targets at a range of 5 kilometers. This high-powered laser system marks a major leap in India’s defense capabilities.
