Himachal Pradesh: Landslide hit apple market, Mandi-Kullu national highway blocked
Since the onset of the monsoon in the hill state of Himachal Pradesh, 130 people have died in rain-related incidents such as landslides and flash floods, and road accidents - according to the Himachal Pradesh State Emergency Response Centre. The apple economy in the state’s capital – Shimla, took a hit this season while Mandi-Kullu national highway got blocked, keeping tourists stranded.
