Gyanvapi mosque 'scientific survey' stayed
The Allahabad High Court has temporarily delayed the survey of the Gyanvapi mosque complex, which was ordered by a Varanasi court. Last Monday, a Varanasi court ordered the Archaeological Survey of India to conduct a scientific examination of the mosque to ascertain whether the "present structure" was "constructed over a pre-existing structure of a Hindu temple."
