NASA research plane reaches 61,000 feet over Panama

NASA’s WB-57 high-altitude research aircraft studies Earth’s upper atmosphere by flying above 60,000 feet for up to seven hours. The aircraft is equipped for scientific missions that observe atmospheric conditions, weather and other phenomena from the edge of near-space.
