The death toll from devastating Himalayan glacial floods in Nepal and Tibet has reached at least 1,050 with nearly 4,500 people still missing after a gigantic wave of freezing water, rocks and debris roared downstream on August 26. Rescue teams from Nepal, India and China are in a desperate race against time, digging, drilling and blasting through debris to free dozens of hydropower workers trapped in tunnels.
