25,000 rock samples reveal Gondwana's scale

An international team of geologists has uncovered buried fragments of Gondwana, revealing that the ancient supercontinent was far larger than previously believed. By mapping neodymium isotopes across more than 25,000 rock samples, researchers found evidence that Gondwana covered at least 80% of Earth’s continental landmass around 500 million years ago.
