<p>An oil sketch, previously thought to be an imitation, has been found to be a painting by Dutch master Rembrandt. For a century, it languished in a forgotten corner of museum. Art experts in the Netherlands unveiled the oil sketch on Thursday (November 3). Rembrandt is known for his famous works like "The Night Watch" and "The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp".&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The Raising of the Cross," the painting in question was long thought to be an imitation of the original probably made by a follower of Rembrandt.</p>

<p>But now the Bredius museum in The Hague, where the sketch has been on display since it was bought in 1921, has revealed, thanks to new scientific techniques, it was in fact painted by Rembrandt.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The quality of the details are so well done that I am convinced that this is a Rembrandt," said Johanneke Verhave, who restored the sketch.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Verhave studied the artwork along with Jeroen Giltaij who first "rediscovered" it while doing research for a book on Rembrandt about a year ago. Giltaij is former chief curator of old paintings at Rotterdam's Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum.</p>

<p>"I looked at this work again and again. At the brush strokes. They are brilliant," Giltaij told AFP.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Just a few broad brush strokes" convinced him the sketch was indeed the genuine article," he said.</p>

<p>This will be the last time her late Majesty's silhouette will be featured on a festive stamp.</p>

<p>Customers will be able to scan each stamp in the Christmas 2022 collection to watch a video of the famous cartoon of Shaun the Sheep.</p>

<p>An 'extremely rare' first edition copy of the US Constitution, one of the most historic pieces of publication in US history, will go under the hammer later this year.</p>

<p>Reportedly, the printed copy, one of the only two available in private hands will be auctioned by Sotheby's New York on December 13. According to the auction house, the copy is expected to fetch as much as anything between $20 million to $30 million.</p>

<p>This particular copy hasn't been seen at an auction for over 125 year and thus it is being described as 'extremely rare' by Sotheby's. The last time it came out in public light was 35 years ago at a Stanford University exhibition.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The unprecedented sale result we achieved for the Constitution last November was a truly unique and inspired moment; one that signifies not only the extreme rarity of first printing copies of the Constitution available for private ownership, but also the enduring importance and influence of the Constitution as the ultimate expression of the democratic principles that inform our daily lives more than 200 years since it was first written," said&nbsp;Richard Austin, Sotheby's global head of books and manuscripts.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Court Purple Jordan 1, New Balance 650, and Yeezy Boost 350 were among the sneakers he listed as being worn in the pictures. These appear to be the first pair of Horse Kicks sneakers, which will be given away and put up for auction at Sneaker Ball Lex.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Floyd further wrote: "One of the craziest collaborations to date for me. It was a dope process trying to figure out what a horse sneaker would look like while using as much from the 'REAL' shoe as possible."&nbsp;</p>

<p>For the first time, a turban-wearing Sikh woman has been elected as the city councillor of Brampton city in Canada.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Navjit Kaur Brar, a respiratory therapist, won the race on Monday in Wards 2 and 6.</p>

<p>She was a former Conservative MP for Brampton West. She secured over 28 per cent of votes cast, Brampton Guardian reported.&nbsp;</p>

The instance further continued, when another attendant was seen kicking a passenger. The matter in no time turned to whole chaos which forced the pilot to make an emergency landing at Kualanamu International Airport Medan instead of Jakarta.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The police in its statement said that the passenger is being treated.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A similar incident was reported in the United States nearly two weeks ago when Beyond Meat's COO bit a man's nose. He was detained in the case but was later let out on bail of $10,000.&nbsp;</p>

<p>An ophthalmologist has shared a video of her removing 23 contact lenses from her patient's eyes.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The now-viral clip was posted by Dr Katerina Kurteeva on her page california-eye-associates on Instagram which clearly showed the doctor removing lenses&nbsp;from an elderly woman's eyelid.</p>

<p>In the report, a team of researchers who are affiliated with several institutions in Portugal released details of this extremely large ocean sunfish. The researchers worked with a colleague from New Zealand and another from Japan. They probed why the fish might have died.&nbsp;</p>

In an interview with the local media, he said that while the shop has never particularly had ill-mannered customers, for him the most important thing for his business is to treat the customers like you are welcoming a guest at home.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He added, “It’s nice to have that respect reciprocated.” During the interview with Manchester Evening News, Hussain also shared how got this idea from an American café on Facebook that did something similar, saying that it fits “perfectly into our concept”.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A study by scientists at Washington State University Bear Center, in the United States, shows how bears are able to eat huge amounts of food and then hibernate and lie around for months without suffering the consequences of the almost sedentary lifestyle.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the study, there are eight key proteins that have been attributed to keeping the bears diabetes-free for months. Notably, these proteins also have a human counterpart which the experts theorise could lead to a better understanding of diabetes in humans as well as a potential cure.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While bears are not completely sedentary and spend some of their time in hibernation being awake and moving around, they do not eat. “If you saw this in humans, it would be very medically concerning,” said the researcher at the university as well as who worked on this study, Blair Perry.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Reportedly, in humans, obesity and inactivity are major factors that contribute to Type 2 diabetes, which is also the far most common form of the disease. Furthermore, this type of diabetes occurs when the body can no longer use the hormone insulin properly, which is responsible for regulating the amount of glucose in the blood.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Insulin helps move the sugars from the food to the body cells for energy, however, when people suffer from diabetes these sugars get accumulated in the blood, said the report. Therefore, the cells over time lose their sensitivity to insulin and can’t take up sugar from the bloodstream, this is a precursor to this type of diabetes and is called insulin resistance.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The study elucidates how bears also develop insulin resistance while they hibernate but their blood sugar levels as well as insulin levels remain stable and do not turn into diabetes. The samples were collected from some of the bears housed at the Washington State University Bear Center and the researchers for this study analysed the blood serum and fat cell samples.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The research indicates that some samples were collected during the active season and others during hibernation. During the hibernation period for two weeks, researchers also fed the bears honey water which disrupted their daily routine. Subsequently, the scientists combined different cell cultures and serum samples collected during the active and hibernation period to study the altered gene activity in the cells.&nbsp;</p>

This in turn allowed the researchers to narrow down the eight key proteins that appeared between insulin resistance and insulin sensitivity.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In an interview, earlier this year, Perry said how the study published on September 21, lays the foundation for future studies. “The more we understand about how this is working in bear the better footing we'll have for translating this to human studies,” said Perry.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He added these findings could also lead to new medications for treating or preventing diabetes in humans. Speaking about the broader implications of the study the researcher also indicated that during hibernation despite very little movement by the bears they also do not suffer from the negative effects of muscle or bone mass (another health consequence that sedentary humans face). &nbsp;</p>

<p>Cartoon Network is more than just a kids' cartoon channel from the 1990s. It enriched the childhoods of several kids. From Scooby Doo to Tom &amp; Jerry, these characters became an essential part of many childhoods.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to media reports, Warner Bros. announced on Tuesday that they were officially eliminating 125 jobs, or 26 per cent of their workforce, across scripted, non-scripted, and ongoing programmes. However, as per some officials in Cartoon Network, these are all just rumours.</p>
