Woman goes on ‘solo honeymoon’ after heartbreaking tragedy, becomes internet sensation

A woman from Canada turned into a TikTok sensation as she went on her solo honeymoon after her fiance's sudden death just amonth before their wedding, and documented her experience.
The life of Laura Murphy went upside down when her 31-year-old fiance Devon O'Grady died due to cardiac arrest.
After this tragic incident, she received a lot of support from her family and friends but still felt isolated in her grief.
The woman was 'feeling guilty' for not living her life and then she took the decision to go on a solo honeymoon, which was booked for England, "to see if life is still worth living".
As she went on her solo honeymoon, she also started documenting and sharing it on the social media platform TikTok.

As she documented her solo honeymoon, Murphy in no time became an internet star.
"It's very lonely and isolating because I knew no one my age who had lost a partner. I needed to find people who could relate because I wanted to know how to go on," said Murphy, while speaking to The Washington Post.
"I also felt I needed to remove myself from my hometown and our house. I was just sort of sitting there for months not knowing what to do with myself," she added.
The woman's account has posts from her travels in London and France.

Murphy has also recorded her raw, unfiltered grief and also accepted that at times she just crawled into the bed and had a "good cry".
Her friends and family members have been surprised by her decision to document her experience as they have known her to be a "private" person.
"It's very out of character for me to be travelling alone, and it's even more out of character to be documenting it for the world," Murphy said.
Before her fiance's death, the couple used to live together in Newfoundland.
The couple had met at work after Murphy got stuck in the stairwell and he came to her aid after he heard her "banging". Murphy, in one of her videos, said that she got "triggered" by the ambulance siren.
