The players in the A+ category are paid Rs 7 crore (INR 70 million) annually while those in the A, B and C category earn Rs 5 crore, Rs 3 crore and Rs 1 crore&nbsp;respectively.

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has questioned the absence of star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja from the A+ category. Jadeja, who has been an integral member of India's squad across formats, has been kept in the A category. Chopra said the left-arm all-rounder's name should be in the top category considering his recent performances for the country.

While he backed Jadeja to be promoted to the A+ category, Chopra also said the likes of KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant will also head to the top bracket soon considering their importance to the Indian side. While Pant is India's first-choice wicket-keeper across formats, Rahul has also been a crucial cog in the batting line-up across formats.

"I feel Ravindra Jadeja's name will go in the A+ category when the next contract renewal happens because his performance has been so good. His name is in Grade A currently. I feel Jadeja and KL Rahul's name will start going to A+ next time," said the former India cricketer.

In an Instagram chat with Indian football team captain Sunil Chhetri, Kohli had revealed Warne made him 'look like a fool' during IPL 2009. Kohli was asked who would he prefer facing between Waqar Younis and Warne, if he had to score three runs off the last ball in a game.

"Firstly Shane Warne hardly bowled during the death overs and secondly I would believe in my ability to score off the yorkers bowled by Waqar Younis,"&nbsp;Kohli had responded.

"Shane Warne made me look like a fool during IPL in 2009. I played him again in 2011 in Rajasthan, nothing significant happened there. He did not get me out, I did not score many runs against him. While Jadeja slammed an unbeaten 175 and picked up a total of nine wickets in the game, Ashwin scored 61 runs and scalped a total of six wickets to help India take a 1-0 lead in the series. Sri Lanka were then bundled out for a paltry 174 in their first innings before they were asked to follow on. While it was a comprehensive win for India with memorable outings for Jadeja and Ashwin, it was also a special game for Virat Kohli.

Kohli became the 12th Indian player to complete the milestone of 100th Test matches for the country and was given a guard of honour by his teammate on Day 2. On Day 1, when Kohli walked out to bat, he also received a standing ovation from fans at the stadium.

The message was referring to Kohli's 71st international century which has been pending for over two years now.

Kohli, who has scored 70 international centuries in his career so far, had scored his last hundred in November 2019. The former Indian captain has since not been able to bring an end to his century drought in international cricket. The die-hard fan of Kohli claimed he will not tie the knot till the former skipper gets a hundred for India.

The 35-year-old Ashwin also dismissed Charith Asalanka and Lahiru Kumara to take his tally to 436 test wickets, climbing past former India all-rounder Kapil Dev to second spot in the list of the country's most successful bowlers in tests.

The former captain had received a standing ovation from the fans at the stadium when he had walked out to bat during India's first innings of the Test match on Day 1. Kohli was given a guard of honour as he walked to field for the team ahead of the start of Sri Lanka's first innings on Day 2 of the Test match on Saturday.

The Indian players formed a parallel line near the boundary rope as they lauded Kohli on the milestone of 100 Tests for the country. Kohli raised his hands to acknowledge the appreciation from his teammates and was later seen thanking captain Rohit Sharma for the gesture.

Ahead of the start of the India-Sri Lanka Test series, head coach Rahul Dravid felicitated Virat Kohli on playing his 100th Test match on Friday morning (March 04).&nbsp;

After Rohit Sharma-led Team India won the toss and opted to bat first, at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali, Dravid presented Kohli his special cap ahead of his historic outing in whites for the national side. Dravid told, "When you started out as a kid you must have wanted to play one Test for India, you stand here on the cusp of your 100th. It’s a testament to everything that is great in our sport... sweat, discipline, courage, skill, determination, desire, focus, you had it all. You had a great journey. You can be very proud of not only playing the 100th Test match but also for the great journey that you have navigated through."

“Congratulations to you and your family on this fantastic achievement. It is well deserved, it is well earned… hopefully it is just the start of many more bigger things to come and as we say in the dressing room, ‘double it up’," he added.
