<p>England great James Anderson, who recently retired from international cricket after the 1st Test against West Indies, has revealed details of his on-field battles with India batter Virat Kohli.</p>

<p>Speaking to Sky Sports after his final Test, Anderson said,&nbsp;"You go so up and down. Some series you feel amazing and some not quite on it and a batter gets the better of you. Playing against Virat Kohli in the early days, you felt you could get him out every ball and then recently like you can’t get him out at all. You feel so inferior."</p>

<p>Anderson and Kohli, the masters of their respective arts, faced each other in 36 innings of 25 Tests. During those innings, Anderson bowled Kohli 710 balls and 560 of them were dots.</p>

<p>Kohli scored 305 runs off the remaining balls at a strike rate of 43 and an average of 43.5. Overall, Anderson got Kohli out seven times in Tests.</p>

<p>Out of those seven dismissals, five came in 2014 when a young Kohli found it hard to negate the swing and seam of Anderson. They faced each other in 2016, 2018 and 2021 after that and Kohli clearly got better of the English great.</p>

<p>So much was Kohli's dominance that Anderson couldn't get him out even once on India's tour of England in 2018 - four years after tearing the batter apart on 2014 tour.</p>

<p>All in all, Kohli and Anderson offered some exciting duels for the fans to watch with both bat and ball dominating each other at times.</p>

<p>Anderson retired from the Tests as the most successful pacer of all time. He played 188 Tests - second only to Sachin Tendulkar's 200 - taking 704 wickets.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Anderson is third on list of all time highest wicket takers in Tests after Muthiah Muralidaran (800) and Shane Warne's 708.</p>

Following India’s second T20 World Cup in Barbados in June against South Africa, the star trio announced their T20I retirements, clearing that they will continue playing in the IPL. Speaking on the same, Laxman congratulated the three players, lauding them for their contribution to Indian cricket in the shortest format.</p>

<p>"My message to these three stalwarts of the game -- Virat, Rohit and I consider Ravindra Jadeja also an extremely talented player who has contributed immensely to the development of the Indian cricket team. A big congratulations. Thank you for all the contribution they have given to the great game," Laxman said in a video posted by the BCCI on their social media handle ahead of the fourth T20I in Harare on Saturday (July 13).</p>

Ahead of the fourth and penultimate tie, in Harare on Saturday (Jul&nbsp;13), Laxman recalled Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's wonderful gesture where they gave the 2024 T20 World Cup trophy to outgoing head coach Rahul Dravid after India's famous triumph last month.</p>

<p>After India beat South Africa in the final of the recently-held 20-nation T20 WC, in West Indies and the USA, captain Rohit and Kohli&nbsp;gave outgoing coach&nbsp;Dravid the space he deserved during the celebrations. While Rohit and Kohli, along with Ravindra Jadeja, announced their T20I retirements, Dravid ended his coaching tenure with the senior team. <p>On Thursday (Jul&nbsp;11), news broke out that the BCCI has asked ICC to shift India's games to Dubai or Sri Lanka as the national side will not travel to Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy, to be held early next year. Pakistan is set to host the ICC event, which marks its return after eight years in early February. However, BCCI has reportedly asked the governing body to shift India's games elsewhere amid the strained political relations between the two Asian countries. Now, former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has made a big claim. He has stated that India should travel to Pakistan as his countrymen want to see Virat Kohli play. Further, he stated that Kohli would forget India's hospitality if he arrived in Pakistan.</p>

<p>Afridi, who is taking part in the ongoing World Championship of Legends T20 tournament in the UK, told News 24, "I will welcome Team India. Even when Pakistan used to tour, we received a lot of respect and love from India, and when India came in 2005-06, all their players enjoyed. <h2><strong>Champions arrive in Mumbai</strong></h2>

<p>Having&nbsp;returned to India in the wee hours of Thursday (Jul 4), the players visited PM Modi’s residence earlier in the day after which they headed to Mumbai. Rohit and Co had earlier taken a 16-hour flight from Barbados where special arraignments were made. After leaving New Delhi in the afternoon, Rohit Sharma’s men arrived in Mumbai at around 6:00 PM IST and are on their way to the Wankhede Stadium where they will be felicitated by the officials of the Board of Control for Cricket India (BCCI).</p>

<p>T20 world champions India had a special cake-cutting ceremony at the ITC Maurya Hotel, New Delhi on Thursday (July 4) before heading to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Indian team, who were stranded in Barbados following their T20 WC win due to Hurricane Beryl, reached the national capital early Thursday morning and met PM Modi before heading to Mumbai for an open-bus victory parade at the Marine Drive. Ahead of their meet-up with the PM, captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, outgoing head coach Rahul Dravid and the likes had a special cake-cutting ceremony.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The special three-tier cake curated by the chefs of ITC Maurya had the hues of orange, blue and white, representing the colours of India's T20I jersey. In addition, it was topped with the replica of the coveted silverware that India won, at the Kensington Oval, Barbados, and comprised images of India lifting the iconic trophy.</p>

<p>Talking about Kohli's World Cup - he scored five runs in three Group Stage matches. The batter scored 1 run against Ireland, 4 runs against arch-rivals Pakistan and a duck against the USA.</p>

<p>Come Super 8 stage Kohli did play better, scoring 24 against Afghanistan and 37 against Bangladesh but got another duck against Australia.</p>

<p>Kohli failed once again in the semifinal, scoring just nine runs against England. He, however, played superbly in the final against the Proteas.</p>

<p>As for South Africa, they were ahead most of the time and needed 30 runs in last five overs with Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller on the crease.</p>

<p>The chase derailed after Pandya dismissed Klaasen in 17th over and from thereon India came out as eventual winners, holding SA at 169/8.</p>
