Meanwhile, India's G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant dubbed the declaration historic and path-breaking and said there was 100% consensus on all developmental and geopolitical issues.&nbsp;</p>

There were different views and assessments of the situation."</p>

Ukraine shares its own ‘closer to reality’ version of Delhi G20 Summit declaration

<p>India championed the G20 Summit as the world leaders reached a consensus over the language used for the Russia-Ukraine war in the New Delhi Leaders' Declaration.&nbsp;The full text of the Delhi Declaration, which was shared by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), called upon upholding "the principles of international law including territorial integrity and sovereignty" of states. However it refrained from making any critical mention&nbsp;of&nbsp;Russia. Ukraine, however, was mentioned a total of four times in the New Delhi Leaders' Declaration adopted and released in the second session of the G20 Summit on Day 1.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The 2022 Bali G20 Summit in Indonesia, was also dominated by the Russia-Ukraine war however there is a stark contrast between the then declaration and at the summit under India's presidency.</p>

<p>The G20 Leaders’ Declaration which was adopted at the Bali summit in Bali had rebuked Russia as an aggressor.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Bali Declaration condemned "in the strongest terms the aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine and demands its complete and unconditional withdrawal from the territory of Ukraine”.</p>

<p>“Most members strongly condemned the war in Ukraine and stressed it is causing immense human suffering and exacerbating existing fragilities in the global economy — constraining growth, increasing inflation, disrupting supply chains, heightening energy and food insecurity, and elevating financial stability risks. There were other views and different assessments of the situation and sanctions. Recognising that the G20 is not the forum to resolve security issues, we acknowledge that security issues can have significant consequences for the global economy," the Bali text read.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, India was able to carve out a consensus at the G20 Summit and was able to work out a language that did not condemn Russia in a straightforward manner yet roped in everyone to agree to the declaration on the issue that was anticipated to be a big roadblock earlier.&nbsp;<br />

The Delhi Declaration mentions that the G20 forum notes with “deep concern the immense human suffering and the adverse impact of wars and conflicts around the world”.</p>

<p>Through the Delhi Declaration, G20 leaders also termed the use or threat of use of nuclear weapons "inadmissible".</p>

<p>"In line with the UN Charter, all states must refrain from the threat or use of force to seek territorial acquisition against the territorial integrity and sovereignty or political independence of any state. The use or threat of use of nuclear weapons is inadmissible," the statement added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Earlier, there were challenges as world leaders, especially China, Russia, and the US, had disagreements on the language of the text related to the Ukraine war at G20 ministerial meetings in India. However, with the commencement of the G20 Leaders' Summit on September 9, India was able to persuade all the leaders reaching a common ground.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We appreciate the efforts of Turkiye and UN-brokered Istanbul Agreements consisting of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Russian Federation and the Secretariat of the United Nations on Promoting Russian Food Products and Fertilizers to the World Markets and the Initiative on the Safe Transportation of Grain and Foodstuffs from Ukrainian Ports (Black Sea Initiative), and call for their full, timely and effective implementation to ensure the immediate and unimpeded deliveries of grain, foodstuffs, and fertilizers/inputs from the Russian Federation and Ukraine. This is necessary to meet the demand in developing and least developed countries, particularly those in Africa," the Delhi statement further read.&nbsp;</p>

Ukraine war: G20 leaders call for upholding territorial integrity, sovereignty of nations

<p>The explosive revelation that Elon Musk shut down Ukrainian access to Starlink satellite communication services has ruffled some feathers in the Kyiv establishment as a senior official accused the SpaceX CEO of having “committed evil”.</p>

<p>On Thursday (Sept 7), CNN shared an excerpt from the upcoming biography book ‘Elon Musk’, in which Musk told author Walter Isaacson that he ordered the Starlink engineers to cut off the satellite internet access after he found that Ukraine was planning to launch drone attacks on Russian fleet off the coast of Crimea last year.</p>

<p>He said that the drones “lost connectivity and washed ashore harmlessly”. The book is scheduled to be released on Tuesday.</p>

<p>Musk expressed concern over being unnecessarily dragged into the war, saying that allowing Ukrainians to launch an attack could invite nuclear retaliation from the Russians.</p>

<h2><strong>Ukraine&nbsp;president's&nbsp;aid slams Musk</strong></h2>

<p>Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak tagging Musk on X wrote that his interference led to the deaths of civilians, calling them “the price of a cocktail of ignorance and big ego”.</p>

<p>“By not allowing Ukrainian drones to destroy part of the Russian fleet via Starlink interference,&nbsp;Elon Musk allowed this fleet to fire Kalibr missiles at Ukrainian cities. As a result, civilians, and children are being killed,” Podolyak wrote.</p>

<p>“Why do some people so desperately want to defend war criminals and their desire to commit murder? And do they now realise that they are committing evil and encouraging evil?”</p>

<p>After a user, Mario Nawfal — a self-described combination of entrepreneur, business influencer and “citizen journalist” — shared the excerpts from the book on social media platform X, Musk said that had he acceded&nbsp;to the Ukrainian government’s request, SpaceX would have faced retaliation.</p>

<p>“There was an emergency request from government authorities to activate Starlink all the way to Sevastopol. The obvious intent being to sink most of the Russian fleet at anchor. If I had agreed to their request, then SpaceX would be explicitly complicit in a major act of war and conflict escalation,” he said in response to the post on X.</p>

<p>More than 20,000 Starlink terminals were donated by Musk to Ukraine after Russia destroyed much of the country’s infrastructure at the beginning of the war in February 2022.</p>

<p>Cesar Rodriguez, the official heading the investigation, appeared on national television on Thursday, saying "17 people have been arrested so far." He did not give their nationalities.</p>

<p>Rodriguez said that it was suspected that one person was "organiser of these activities" while two others acted as recruiters.</p>

<p>The office of the attorney general said that the judicial authorities were considering to bring in charges of "human trafficking, mercenarism (and) hostile acts in a foreign state." These charges carry sentences of up to 30 years in jail, lefe imprisonment or even death penalty.</p>

<p>Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said Monday that the government was "acting with the full force of the law" against trafficking operations.</p>

<p>The father of two young men recruited by this ring appeared on state television &nbsp;saying that one of his sons left Cuba in July while the other is still on the island and is being investigated.</p>

<p>Ukraine on Friday (Sept. 8) slammed Russia for conducting “sham elections” in Crimea, saying that it was a futile exercise and would have no legal standing.</p>

<p>Russia is holding elections in territories now controlled by it but that originally belong to Ukraine, including Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson.</p>

<p>Ukrainian foreign ministry said in a statement that the elections “grossly violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine” as well as international law.</p>

<p>“Russia’s sham elections in the temporarily occupied territories are null and void. They will not have any legal consequences and will not lead to a change in the status of the Ukrainian territories captured by the Russian army,” the statement added.</p>

<h2><strong>Kyiv demands support from the international community</strong></h2>

<p>Along with denouncing elections in Crimea and occupied territories, Ukraine also urged the international community to take note of the developments and not to recognise the results.</p>

<p>On Thursday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken condemned the “sham elections”, saying that they were “illegitimate”.<br />

Responding to Blinken’s allegations, the Russian embassy in the US said that the US was meddling in Russia’s internal affairs.</p>

<p>Russia is conducting elections in areas of Ukraine it annexed last year. In the four regions, governors installed by the Kremlin are seeking full terms of office in the polls, which will conclude on September&nbsp;10.</p>

<p>Some residents showed up for the polls on Thursday, and flashed their Russian passports to officials deployed at the polling booths. Many people have fled the area fearing massive violence and brutality.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The exiled mayor of Mariupol, now controlled by Russia, was quoted as saying by Reuters that the elections were taking place with no voter lists and candidate lists.</p>

<p>Romanian President Klaus Iohannis on Wednesday (September 6) appealed for an "urgent investigation" into debris, which is suspected to be the remains of a drone, that was found on its soil after attacks in neighbouring Ukraine.<br />

The revelation was made after Romania continuously rejected claims made by Kyiv that Iranian-made Russian drones were detonated on Romanian territory amid a strike on the Ukrainian port of Izmail.<br />

"Investigators discovered elements resembling drone debris in the evening of 5 September," said the defence ministry, in a press release. The debris was found near Plauru, a village in Romania on the other side of the Danube. It added that experts will now carry out a technical analysis to "determine (the debris') origin and characteristics".</p>

"If it is confirmed that these elements belonged to a Russian drone, such a situation would be completely inadmissible and a serious violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Romania, a NATO ally," he stated, before the start of the Three Seas Initiative summit which was hosted by Bucharest.</p>

<h2><strong>NATO expresses 'solidarity' with Romania</strong></h2>

<p>Iohannis stated the NATO Secretary General and NATO allies of Bucharest were informed about the new development through the ambassador.<br />

The Alliance allies "expressed strong solidarity with Romania" at a meeting of the North Atlantic Council, stated NATO spokesman Dylan White, in a statement sent to AFP.<br />

"We continue to monitor the situation closely, and we remain in close contact with our Ally Romania,” he said. As per NATO treaty, member states carry the obligation of mutual defence.<br />

Opposition leader of the centre-right party USR Catalin Drula accused Romania of trying to cover things up. "They lied for two days. Ukraine told the truth. Their instinct is to sweep it under the rug," he said on Facebook.</p>

In a statement, the Main Intelligence Directorate talked about how the operation was led in "maximum secrecy", by first carrying out the pilot's recruitment after identifying that he did not support the invasion by the Kremlin.<br />

The department claimed that they assisted the pilot in flying into Ukraine and that two of the crew members of the helicopter, who were unaware of the plans of Kuzminov to go to Ukraine and defect - were killed after they refused to surrender.</p>

<p>Nastassia Nasko (25) from Belarus and her friend Anastasia Kuchmenko (28) wanted to help Ukrainian war effort. Nastassia has a background in IT and marketing while Anastasia is an art graduate. But their effort to raise support was not going beyond likes and reposts and so on.</p>

<p>"When the full-scale invasion started, we were in Warsaw and it was difficult for us to accept the fact that we were not in Ukraine and could not help or volunteer, and we did not have a lot of money to send to the Ukrainian defenders,” she told Euronews.</p>

<p>As reported by Euronews, they realised that they could utilise the Western, stereotypical and almost pervasive fascination for Ukrainian women to raise support for Ukrainian war effort.</p>

<p>The women launched TerOnlyFans which is a short for "Territorial Defence OnlyFans". The platform now co-operates with several Ukrainian charities and send tasteful nudes to people who donate and present proof of donation.</p>

<p>“It was important for us to launch TerOnlyFans on 8 March because we wanted to highlight that the project aims to promote a woman’s right to independently decide to do whatever they want with their bodies,” said Nasko.</p>
