Earlier, on Wednesday, it was revealed that Mario Cantone, David Eigenberg, Willie Garson and Evan Handler were going to reprise their roles for the upcoming revival. The new chapter of the iconic HBO series will see the return of Cantone as Anthony Marentino, Eigenberg as Steve Brady, Garson as Stanford Blatch and Handler as Harry Goldenblatt.
Kim Cattrall, who previously played Samantha Jones, is not returning for 'And Just Like That'.
John Corbett, who played Carrie's former on-screen beau Aidan, told Page Six in April that he's "going to do the show," but HBO has yet to officially comment on the matter.
Michael Daughles is sharing a very awkward moment that happened to him recently. Hollywood actor Michael recently shared an embarrassing moment from his daughter Cary's graduation party, where someone mistook him as the18-year-old’s grandfather. The actor, 76, recently appeared on the Kelly Clarkson show and opened up about a “rough” incident. The actor recalled attending the virtual graduation party and said, "We had a lovely experience. It was a virtual graduation. We couldn’t actually be in the same room that she was in because of COVID protections and all of that,” Douglas explained. ''It was so wonderful and we’re so proud of her, but I’ve got to tell you, Kelly, it’s a little rough when you’re going out the doors and the other parents are saying, 'Oh congratulations … you must be so proud of your granddaughter,' '' he said. ''I said, ‘Well, I don’t know, man. Yeah, okay.’ I’m not gonna take it personally, they’re just trying to be nice,'' he added. A few days back, Michael shared a photo of the family and wrote, ''Congratulations to Carys and the entire class of 2021! Your Mom and I are so proud of you! We love you so much and we are so excited for your future as the best is yet to come! ❤️ Dad.''
While fans are waiting with bated breath for the 'Game of Thrones' prequel `House of the Dragon`, they can`t help but wonder what the show has in store for them. And HBO content chief Casey Bloys might have an answer!

As per Variety, Bloys recently spoke about the upcoming series and other 'GOT' spinoffs in the works. Bloys told Variety that he has been surprised by the number of people who believe that there are multiple 'GOT'-related series in active production. For the record, `House of the Dragon`, a prequel that takes place 300 years before the events depicted in 'GOT', is the only spinoff that is real so far.

'GOT' author George R.R. Martin is helping to oversee development on at least six other projects, including an animated series. Speaking about the forthcoming prequel series, Bloys said, "House of the Dragon is the only one shooting. All the other ones are in various stages of development. People may think we have 10 series shooting at the moment. There`s one that will be on the air in 2022. We`ll see how the other scripts come along."`House of the Dragon` is now filming in England, led by showrunner/executive producer Ryan J. Condal and director/executive producer Miguel Sapochnik, a `GOT` alum.

Bloys did not give out any spoilers but he said he likes what he`s seen of the dailies so far."It looks spectacular. The cast that (Sapochnik) and Ryan have put together looks good," he said. The prequel series is based on Martin`s novel `Fire and Blood`, a companion to the `Song of Ice and Fire` novels that were the basis for `GOT`.The prequel will follow the Dance of the Dragons, the Targaryen civil war between siblings Aegon II and Rhaenyra, who fought for the throne after the death of their father Viserys I. The Dance of the Dragons pits Westeros` great houses -- including the Lannisters and Starks -- against each other and resulted in the death of House Targaryen`s most powerful dragons. Soon after the war, they would go extinct until Daenerys Targaryen would give birth to three dragons three centuries later.

'GOT' ran for eight seasons from 2011 to 2019 and was created by showrunners and executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. The pair were famously protective of the franchise. But they have now handed the keys to the kingdom to the `Dragon` team after signing a USD 200 million production pact with an HBO rival.

Benioff and Weiss "have been entirely hands off" on Dragon. "They're off working at Netflix," Bloys said. 'House of the Dragon' stars Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Emma D`Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen, Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon aka the Sea Snake, Eve Best as Princess Rhaenys Velaryon, Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower, Sonoya Mizuno as Mysaria, and Fabien Frankel as Ser Criston Cole.

The hard-hitting British television series 'I May Destroy You', which depicts the impact of a sexual assault on a young woman, has won praise from real-life survivors of sexual violence.

The show, nominated for several of the UK's prestigious Bafta TV awards handed out Sunday, chronicles a successful young black blogger and novelist piecing together details of the attack she suffered while at a London bar with friends.

The series ''changed my life", said Karan Tripathi, a 25-year-old Indian man who was sexually harassed at work. It was only after watching the show that he acknowledged he was a victim, Tripathi said.

Is Quentin Tarantino done making movies? Director hints at retirement

The series, which aired on the BBC and HBO in 2020, was written and directed by Michaela Coel, who also stars as the heroine Arabella. It is largely based on Coel's own life experiences.

In a dozen intense episodes, Coel spares no blushes with her frank depiction of banal yet violent encounters. The show raises questions about the notion of sexual consent, particularly in the LGBTQ community, and strikes a powerful chord with survivors of violence.

Tripathi said the show helped him see he was a victim after a superior at work sexually harassed him and demanded favours from him.

"In my head I was like: 'Okay, does it even qualify... Because at that moment I froze. I just couldn't do anything. I couldn't resist," recalled Tripathi, who is gay.

Cannes Film Festival 2021: List of films competing for Palme d'Or

"The show's helped me to answer that question," he added, noting in India there is no legal recognition that a man can suffer sexual harassment.

The show "gave me the courage to, you know, own up to things that I felt would make me vulnerable," he said. "It gave me a voice, it gave me a language, it gave me the grammar to talk about sexual harassment."

'Demanding justice' -

Tripathi learnt of the show from discussion in social media when it failed to win any nominations for the US Golden Globes awarded in March, despite calls for greater diversity.

However, Sunday's Bafta TV ceremony will see the show nominated in six categories.

Coel is nominated for best actress, while Paapa Essiedu is nominated for best actor for his performance as Arabella's gay best friend who himself has experienced sexual assault by a Grindr date. The acclaim for the show is well-deserved, said Marie Albert, a 26-year-old French journalist and feminist.

"I don't remember ever seeing anything so empowering before," she said, adding that it made her "feel really justified in demanding justice" over sexual attacks against her.

Albert said that after watching the show, she gathered up the courage to report the assaults in February, realising she "could not go back to life as it was before".

Albert said she reported incidents of domestic violence, sexual assault and harassment at work.

She also reported she had been raped, something she only acknowledged while watching an episode of the show about "stealthing", when the heroine's partner removes a condom during sex without her knowledge.

The hard-hitting British television series 'I May Destroy You', which depicts the impact of a sexual assault on a young woman, has won praise from real-life survivors of sexual violence.

Director hints at retirement The series, which aired on the BBC and HBO in 2020, was written and directed by Michaela Coel, who also stars as the heroine Arabella. Cannes Film Festival 2021: List of films competing for Palme d'Or "The show's helped me to answer that question," he added, noting in India there is no legal recognition that a man can suffer sexual harassment. The show "gave me the courage to, you know, own up to things that I felt would make me vulnerable," he said. "It gave me a voice, it gave me a language, it gave me the grammar to talk about sexual harassment." 'Demanding justice' - Tripathi learnt of the show from discussion in social media when it failed to win any nominations for the US Golden Globes awarded in March, despite calls for greater diversity. Tripathi also praised the series for depicting events in a way that is "authentic" and "just the way it is". The show "transcends cultures," he added.

Ryan Reynolds' three daughters were his inspiration to talk about his struggles with mental health.

The 'Deadpool' actor recently got candid about his "lifelong" struggles with anxiety in a candid Instagram post in honour of Mental Health Awareness Month. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight recently, the actor revealed that his three daughters -- James, 6, Inez, 4, and Betty, 1 -- who he shares with his wife and actor Blake Lively, inspired him to talk publicly about his mental health.

"Part of it is that I have three daughters at home and part of my job as a parent is to model behaviors and model what it's like to be sad and model what it's like to be anxious, or angry. That there's space for all these things," said Reynolds.

"The home that I grew in, that wasn't modelled for me really. And that's not to say that my parents were neglectful, but they come from a different generation. "Part of that is to destigmatize things and create a conversation around [mental health]," he added.

"I know that when I felt at the absolute bottom, it's usually been because I felt like I was alone in something I was feeling. So I think when people talk about it, I don't necessarily dwell on it or lament on it, but I think it's important to talk about it. And when you talk about it, it kind of sets other people free." Ryan said.

He also added, if he spoke out, he hoped it might help others as well. "Other people feel like, 'Oh, he's feeling that and so am I.' And even though we might be in two completely different fields or we might have two completely different lives, it connects us in a way," he noted. "A lot of it is just wanting to model certain things for my own kids and model things for anyone who might need to hear it."

Issa Rae, who is an actor, writer, producer and director, can now add superhero to her already impressive resume. The 36-year-old star is entering the Spider-Verse.

As per Variety, the `Insecure` star has joined the voice cast of the sequel to 2018`s Oscar-winning animated feature `Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse` as Jessica Drew, better known as Spider-Woman. Rae has joined returning voice actors Shameik Moore (as main hero Miles Morales) and Hailee Steinfeld (as Gwen Stacy, a.k.a. Spider-Gwen).

In April, Variety reported that Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson will be directing the feature, with producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller also credited as writers on the screenplay, along with David Callaham.

Amy Pascal, Avi Arad and Christina Steinberg are also producing, and original `Spider-Verse` director Peter Ramsey is returning as an executive producer, with Lord Miller`s Aditya Sood. While plot details are being kept under wraps, casting Rae as Drew does open up the possibility of exploring a region of the Marvel comics landscape that has been virtually ignored in the Marvel feature and TV series adaptations of the last 20 years: Wundagore Mountain. In the comics, that vaguely Eastern European location, in the fictional country of Transia, is where Drew grew up as a child, while her parents used the rich veins of uranium found in Wundagore for their various scientific experiments.

The radiation, however, poisons poor Drew, which leads her parents to radically intervene to save her life by, among other things, injecting her with a serum made from, yup, arachnid blood. At one point, Drew becomes a Hydra agent, before eventually taking on the mantle of Spider-Woman.

Whether any of these details from the comics will make it into the `Spider-Verse` sequel remains to be seen, but the character`s history is certainly rich with the madcap storytelling flourishes that made the first `Spider-Verse` so terrific. Meanwhile, Rae has not been shy about her love of all things Spidey. "Since the third grade, I`ve loved Spider-Man, comic books, memorabilia, everything," she told the outlet in February.

Rae is currently in production on the fifth and final season of `Insecure`. Robin Thede`s `A Black Lady Sketch Show`, which Rae executive produces, was just renewed for a third season, the Season 2 finale aired on May 28. Rae is also working on the docuseries `Seen and Heard` for HBO, and for HBO Max, she has the unscripted series `Sweet Life` and the hip hop comedy `Rap Sh*t`.

Her production company Hoorae is currently developing `Perfect Strangers` with Spyglass Media. The sequel of `Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse` is scheduled to release on October 7, 2022.

Emma Stone starrer Disney live-action movie just released and the studio is already working on a sequel. The live-action prequel to the animated feature '101 Dalmatians' debuted in theatres and on Disney+ just last week and is raking good numbers with impressive ratings.

"We are very pleased with Cruella's box office success, in conjunction with its strong Disney+ Premier Access performance to date,” a Disney spokesperson said in a statement provided to THR. "The film has been incredibly well received by audiences around the world, with a 97% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes in addition to A’s in every demographic from CinemaScore on opening weekend, ranking it among the most popular of our live-action reimaginings. We look forward to a long run as audiences continue to enjoy this fantastic film."

'Cruella' opened on May 28 and to date, the film earned $32.4 million domestically and $48.5 million worldwide and is still earning; although as per the Variety, Disney characterizes the film’s Disney Plus performance as “strong,” as with all streamers.

The much-talked movie tells the story of Cruella De Vil, the antagonist of the 1961 animated classic '101 Dalmatians'. The movie is set in 1970s London during the punk rock revolution and follows young grifter Estella (Stone), an ambitious, unfettered, and arguably unhinged designer determined to make a name for herself in the ruthless fashion business.
The events and revelation during the course of the film will see Estella embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable, and revenge-bent Cruella.

Although, Simon, the Duke of Hastings will not be seen in the series, but his character will still have a big presence. “I think he’ll definitely be referred to a lot,” she shared, adding that fans will see “see the baby.”

Talking about how season 2 is based on the Bridgerton family, Dynevor says in an interview with The Wrap, "It’s definitely different."

“And I’ve said it before, but I think the fans who have read the books and know the books are aware that every season will focus on a different sibling’s journey. And it might be a little bit more of a — not shock, but like a surprise for the fans that love Daphne and Simon’s story so much,” she continued.

“But I think that’s honestly the joy of the show in the long-term, getting to see these different love stories play out,” she added.

“And no two seasons will be the same and they’ll have a different excitement,” Dynevor said. “And I think every season is just going to be really different and magical in its own way. And that’s honestly what I think is so brilliant about what Shonda Rhimes and Chris Van Dusen have created. There’s not many TV series that do that, that focus on different characters every season. But I think every season is going to have its own magic, which is great.”

The forthcoming season of the show will focus on Lord Anthony Bridgerton, Daphne's elder brother and his journey to find love. The storyline is based on author Julia Quinn’s 'The Viscount Who Loved Me.'

The first season was a massive hit and became Netflix's most-watched show after few weeks of its release. The S1 focused on the romance between Daphne and Simon, the role which Rege-Jean Page played, who unfortunately is not returning in the second season.
For the unversed, the period-drama will be back for a third and fourth series, Netflix has confirmed.

Ships of woes: When ship disasters hit global headlines

Frances 'Franco' Stevens was just 23 when she launched a glossy lifestyle magazine for lesbians in 1991, after raising funds by taking cash out on credit cards and betting on the horses.

The gamble paid off and now 30 years on, the documentary 'Ahead of the Curve' celebrates 'Curve' magazine`s groundbreaking history and explores its future.

"At that time ... there was nothing that showed lesbians in the positive everyday view," Stevens, who started the magazine in San Francisco, told Reuters. "I would say the biggest controversy we had with starting was putting the word lesbian on the front cover because that meant every time somebody wanted to buy it, they were essentially coming out to anyone standing around them, anyone who saw it in their house."

Stevens, who was initially rejected by her family for being a lesbian, said it was a risk to bring out the magazine at the time, but she was young enough to think there would be time to bounce back if it flopped.

"It was in my wildest dreams that it would last for five years. And now here it is 30 years later," she said.

Subscriptions soared and over time mainstream advertising deals came in and famous faces like tennis player Martina Navratilova and singer Melissa Etheridge posed for the cover.

But it wasn`t all plain sailing. Originally called 'Deneuve', the magazine had to change its name following a lawsuit from French actress Catherine Deneuve and in 2010 Stevens sold the magazine after an accident left her disabled.

She bought it back 10 years later and it is now part of Stevens` newly formed organisation The Curve Foundation, which aims to keep giving a voice to LGBTQ women.

"After so long, to still hear women say that it (Curve) saved their lives ... makes it all worthwhile," she said.

Stevens, who is married to one of the film`s directors, said the documentary`s release is timely given movement restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"With the movie coming out in Pride month and people still feeling this kind of disjointed feeling of uncertainty, that`s what we felt in the `90s when I first started the magazine," she said. "We need community more than ever right now."
