Actress Leah Remini slams Tom Cruise's 'Mission Impossible 7' COVID rant, feels it's all for 'publicity'

The image is startling, endearing and scary at the same time. Although the frame shows a cute deer, what is horrific is an arrow has pierced his head and come out of from just below his eye. The arrow remains lodged in the deer's head but the deer&nbsp;is very much alive. This viral image is being shared widely on social media.

The photo has been clicked by a photographer name Lee-Anne Carver. The deer who she named Carrot has befriended her for three years. But she was not ready for what happened just over a week ago.

"Today, he came to my house with an arrow through his head. It was disturbing, startling and crushing," she writes in a Facebook post dated December 10.

"My husband came in the house crying to tell me," she adds.

To both of their surprise, Carrot was behaving as if nothing had happened. It licked Lee-Anne's hands as it always did and showed no signs of pain. There was no blood, according to her.

"For now, allow me to say the arrow missed all vitals. His skull protected him," she says.

Before anyone could react on Facebook, she requested everyone to not rally for the deer to be put to death to end his misery as she said he was "thriving" and that there was "no need to put him down".

She has even posted a video of the deer walking around with the arrow wedged in his skull.

The newest of the monoliths has appeared oh-so-mysteriously in Poland. And no just anywhere in Poland, but in its capital Warsaw on the banks of Vistula river. Local media reported that joggers noticed the monolith.

The monolith in Poland stands about 3 metres (10 feet) tall. Has a dull silver colour and is held together by screws. It has appeared near a major bridge in Warsaw.

"A mysterious and unusual installation has emerged on the beach on the right (river) bank," Warsaw's Vistula district authorities said on their Facebook page. &nbsp;

"If you spend your time actively on the Vistula river, it won't escape your attention," they added, without elaborating.

"I was expecting some kind of metaphysical experience, but it's not really all that impressive," a woman visiting the site on Thursday who declined to be named told AFP.&nbsp;

No one claimed responsibility for the installation as of Thursday.

This branch of&nbsp;Chipotle is located in Upper Manhattan.

“It’s pure chaos every time a rat appears,” an employee named Melvin Paulino was quoted by New York Post as saying.

The rat infestation is so much that even though the restaurant is shut, employees have to come to clean-up so that the problem doesn't get worse.

The issue began in Summer this year when the staff found half-eaten Avocados. The rats took particular liking to the expensive fruit so much that the staff was forced to keep Avocados inside freezers just to save them from rats.

But then, more issues started. Bags of rice were found to have been chewed open, the rice eaten. And the mice also took to chewing electric wires that resulted in problems for computer systems in the store.

Efforts were made to contain the damage. But the problem became so big that the store could no longer handle orders as computer systems and wires were too badly damaged by the rats.

This trend was started by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev’s Isha Foundation.&nbsp;

The foundation maintains that “a band of motivated or misinformed people, continue to throw muck at their globally-recognised non-profit organisation, that's been working towards people's well-being and spiritual growth for decades”.

The accused Ram Pratap Singh had kidnapped and 8-year-old boy from his grandmother's house on October 26 and murdered him. The same day however, he sent a message to the boy's father through a stolen phone and demanded 200,000 rupees for the release of the boy.

In the message sent to the boy's father, Singh wrote '"Do lakh rupay Seeta-Pur lekar pahuchiye. Pulish ko nahi batana nahi to hatya kar denge (Reach Sitapur with Rs 2 lakh. Don`t inform the police or your son will be murdered)."

"When the boy`s family lodged a missing complaint, we formed teams to trace him. We called back on the mobile phone number but it was switched off. The cyber-surveillance cell was roped in and we detained a person in whose name the SIM was issued, but he said his phone had been stolen," said Anurag Vats, Superintendent of Police in Hardoi.

On the basis of CCTV footage and tip-offs, police picked up 10 suspects including Ram Pratap Singh.

Now the real task was to nab the real killer from the crowd.

Police asked all suspects to write: "Main police main bharti hona chahta hoon. Main Hardoi se Sitapur daud kar ja sakta hoon (I want a police job. I can run from Hardoi to Sitapur)."

Ram Pratap Singh fell into the trap as he wrote police as 'pulish' and Sitapur as 'Seeta-pur', just as he had done in the ransom message to the boy's father.

He was arrested on Saturday and later confessed to the crime.

"I paid 700 rupees for a 170 rupees whisky bottle," said Manish, who was asked to visit a nearby milk shop in Mumbai at dawn to take delivery clandestinely.

"Many are willing to pay even higher prices for liquor, but can't get any. I was lucky as I at least got some," said Manish, who gave only his first name.

According to Google Trends, online searches for "how to make alcohol at home" peaked in India during the week of March 22-28, the same week Prime Minister Narendra Modi imposed the nationwide lockdown.

In late March, grey-market sellers were charging double the price, but premiums have been rising daily with liquor shops being sealed to prevent illegal sales, say excise officials.

The lockdown has now been extended to May 3 as the number of virus cases crossed 10,000.

"Even habitual drinkers hold limited stocks which must have been exhausted by now. In coming weeks, more and more consumers will try to buy from the grey market," said an excise official from Maharashtra. 
As branded liquor prices have surged, some consumers such as Naresh, from Indore, have been forced to drink homemade drinks, often known as "country liquor".

"Even hooch is so expensive. In normal circumstances I could have bought branded liquor at this price," he said, declining to give his family name.

More than a dozen consumers spoke to Reuters and said a 180 ml hooch bottle was now selling at over 250 rupees, up from roughly 60 rupees. All declined to be fully identified.

In Uttar Pradesh, two people died last week after drinking home-brewed liquor, while five others were admitted to hospital in critical condition, police said.

Liquor scarcity has also sparked break-ins at wine shops and fraud, with buyers conned into making online payments for liquor that never arrived, a police official in Pune said.

Local media have reported at least a dozen cases of suicide due to alcohol withdrawal symptoms, and at least two northeast states have opted to reopen alcohol stores this week to address consumer demand.
