In his post, Tiesto wrote, “Me and my team have been preparing something truly special for months, but a personal family emergency is forcing me to return home Sunday morning.
Meet the other Taylor Swift – not the global music superstar but the combatant in a psychological warfare operation to keep former US president Donald Trump from winning the 2024 elections.

For those unfamiliar with the increasingly bizarre alternative universe inhabited by millions of Americans whose views are shaped by the former president, social media tweets and influencers, here is a brief guide to the role supposedly played by psy-op Taylor Swift in an operation designed to culminate at next Sunday’s (Feb 11) Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

The biggest event in US sports, last year’s Super Bowl had a television audience of just over 115 million. This year it may well be more because Taylor Swift is scheduled to attend to watch her boyfriend Travis Kelce play for the Kansas City Chiefs against the San Francisco 49ers.

According to tweets and a video seen by hundreds of thousands, psy-ops warriors have planned to rig the game so that the Chiefs will win after a dramatic finish. To celebrate, Swift and Kelce will announce their engagement, soon followed by the celebrity couple’s endorsement of Joe Biden for another four years in the White House.

Inhabitants of what has become known as Trumpworld have pointed to a variety of participants in the scheme, including the CIA and the Pentagon. Speculation on the latter was so persistent that the Pentagon felt it necessary to issue a denial through its deputy press secretary, Sabrina Singh.

“To set the record straight,” she told the newspaper Politico, “Taylor Swift is not part of a DOD (Department of Defense) psychological operation. Period.”

Conspiracy theorists distrust government and tend to interpret official government denials as a form of confirmation, so the exasperated “period” exclamation is unlikely to kill speculation of a well-planned plot.

Not long after TIME magazine made Taylor Swift 2023 Person of The Year, prominent FOX News host Jesse Walters told his viewers that “it’s real. The Pentagon psy-op unit pitched NATO on turning Taylor Swift into an asset.”

Also on record to fuel speculation was Vivek Ramaswamy, a presidential candidate until he dropped out of the race for the Republican party’s primary elections in mid-January. “I wonder whether there’s a major presidential endorsement coming from an artificially culturally propped up couple this fall,” he said, alluding to an endorsement for Biden.

Ramaswamy did not explain what he meant by “artificially propped”. Record-breaking tours, music royalties and a movie on her concerts turned Swift into a billionaire last year, Bloomberg reported.

On Sunday’s Grammy Awards, she was awarded for Album of the Year, becoming the only artist to ever win that category four times.

Her successes and devoted fans – she has 300 million followers on social media -- reminiscent of the Beatlemania of the late 1960 and 1970s, has done little to impress those on the far right who have pegged her as a supporter of Joe Biden and thus an enemy of Trump.

The paranoia in Trumpland about a romance between a superstar singer and a football player makes some wonder about the sanity of Republicans who, as the Wall Street Journal put it in an editorial “demonise two of America’s healthier entertainments".

It had a question for those fanning the conspiracy: “If they believe defeating Mr Trump is so easy that Mr Biden can do it merely by getting an endorsement from a singer who backed him in 2020, doesn’t that suggest the GOP might be making a mistake by nominating such a weak candidate?”

The National Football League (NFL) has been quiet about the affair which is keeping trolls busy. But it is a reasonable bet that the NFL would not be unhappy if the number of Super Bowl viewers would be boosted by thousands of “swifties,” as the singer’s fans are called.

Taylor Swift and the Super Bowl – a tale of America’s alternative universe

The San Francisco 49ers produced a stunning second-half fightback to beat the Detroit Lions 34-31 and reach their second Super Bowl in four years on Sunday.

The 49ers set up a rematch of the 2020 Super Bowl against Kansas City after recovering from a 24-7 halftime deficit to score 27 points and seal a dramatic NFC Championship victory in Santa Clara.

The loss was a heartbreaking blow for Detroit, who had been bidding to remove themselves from the list of four NFL teams who have never reached a Super Bowl.

Ultimately, however, Detroit's risky calls to pass up two kickable field goals in the second half in favor of failed fourth down conversions came back to haunt them.

Instead it was San Francisco who showed the composure that will send them into the February 11 Super Bowl showdown against the Chiefs in Las Vegas, where they will be looking to avenge their 31-20 loss to Kansas City in the 2020 showpiece in Miami.

"We played as bad of a first half as we could but we were still within 17," San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan said.

"It's been a long year to get to this point and we got it done today. It was hard at the beginning, but the character we have on our team, we can't wait to get to Vegas."

Detroit got off to a dream start, with Jameson Williams weaving over from 42 yards on the Lions' first possession to rock an expectant 49ers crowd, with Michael Badgley adding the extra point.

The 49ers had no answer to the Detroit running game, and the Lions went 14-0 ahead with another rushing touchdown, this time David Montgomery barreling over from a yard out to cap an 11-play, 62-yard drive.

The 49ers finally got on the board early in the second quarter with the first touchdown of the day from Christian McCaffrey, the star running back walking in from two yards out to make it 14-7.

But the San Francisco score was only a fleeting interlude to Detroit's dominance.

Soon afterwards, Brock Purdy's deep pass intended for Deebo Samuel was picked off by Malcolm Rodriguez to leave Detroit in prime field position.

The Lions duly took advantage of the interception, with running back Jahmyr Gibbs going over from 15 yards out to help stretch the score to 21-7.

A 21-yard Badgley field goal completed the first half scoring to leave Detroit in total command at 24-7.

But if everything went right for Detroit in the first half, everything went wrong after the restart.

Jake Moody's 43-yard field goal cut Detroit's lead to 14 points.

The Lions then made a fateful decision to try a fourth down conversion instead of attempting a field goal on their next possession. The attempt failed, and San Francisco took over.

Fortune then smiled on the 49ers, with Purdy's 51-yard bomb to Brandon Aiyuk bouncing off the faceguard of cornerback Kindle Vildor into the arms of Aiyuk.

- Momentum shift -

Three plays later, Purdy hit Aiyuk in the end zone for a touchdown to leave the 49ers just one score away from tying the game.

Once again, Lady Luck intervened, with Gibbs fumbling on the first play of the Lions' next possession after the restart.

San Francisco quarterback Purdy was soon scrambling 21 yards to the Detroit four-yard line, and McCaffrey then finished the drive with another close-range touchdown. Moody's extra point tied it at 24-24 to send the Levi's Stadium into raptures.

The momentum shift continued with the Niners taking the lead with a Moody field goal that made it 27-24.

Another failed Detroit fourth down attempt -- from kickable field goal range -- then handed possession back to San Francisco.

The Niners went 70 yards upfield for McCaffrey to score and make it 34-24.

Detroit got a late touchdown through Williams to get within three, but it was too little too late as San Francisco regained possession to secure the win.

Former NFL star Tom Brady has lambasted the league for the decline in quality of players' development and poor coaching as well. Brady, who retired last year after a record 23-year-long career, made the comments on November 20 on The Stephen A. Smith Show. The majestic quarterback also said that the league is less than what it's been in the past.

"I think the coaching isn't as good as it was," Brady said. "I don't think the development of young players is as good as it was. I don't think the schemes are as good as they were.

"Just because so many coaches are changing programs, and I would say there's not even a lot of college programs anymore.
The Super Bowl LVII runner-ups Philadelphia Eagles have signed two veteran linebackers in an attempt to strengthen their defensive depth chart. Myles Jack and Zach Cunningham have been signed to one-year deals, announced the Eagles on Sunday.

Philadelphia have five linebackers as of now without the two new signings with Nakobe Dean and Nicholas Morrow expected to be starters. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman had said last month that the franchise would be keeping its linebacker options open.

Talking about the players, Jack spent six years with the Jacksonville Jaguars before spending a year with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jack, a round pick in the 2016 NFL draft, has been sensational in the last three years, amassing more than 100 total tackles each in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Jack's only season with the Steelers saw him leading Pittsburgh with 104 total tackles. Overall, the linebacker has played 104 games in seven years, recording 617 tackles, out of which 396 are solo. He also has 6.5 sacks to his name to go with three interceptions as well.

As for Cunningham, the former Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans linebacker hasn't been much effective in the last two seasons owing to an elbow injury. He, however, recorded three consecutive 100+ tackles from 2018 to 2020. Also Read: Lionel Messi hits brace in Inter Miami's win over FC Dallas in Leagues Cup - WATCH Jack's only season with the Steelers saw him leading Pittsburgh with 104 total tackles. A round 2 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Cunningham spent three seasons with the Texans before moving to Tennessee for a couple of years. In 2020, Cunningham had the best season of his career, recording 164 total tackles in 16 games with 106 being solo to go with three sacks as well. NFL: Chiefs 'SUPERFAN' arrested after being on the run in bank robbery case

Kansas City Chiefs' newest wide receiver Richie James is excited to be a part of the last year's Super Bowl champion franchise. The WR, in his fourth NFL season, earned the one-year deal with the Chiefs following his break-out season with the New York Giants.

James had joined the league in 2018 and had spent three years with the San Francisco 49ers before moving to New York. In 17 games with the Giants, James received the ball 57 times and covered 569 yards, averaging 10 yards per carry. He also notched up four touchdowns to his name, one more than he had in his first three seasons in the league. 2022 was also James' best season in the league.

Speaking on his opportunity with the Chiefs, James was confident on getting a chance to build on his performance of the last year.

"It's very similar offenses," James had told the Kansas City Star in June. "And you got the smartest and the greatest head coach you can possibly ask for."

The 27-year-old, however, might not find himself in the top of depth chart of the Chiefs for the position even with the departures of JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman. James, although, is willing to contribute in any way the Chiefs want him to.

"Wherever they put me at, I'm just here to contribute to whatever they want me to do," he said.

Overall, James had a perfect answer when asked about what he likes the most about his new franchise: "Everything," James had said.

In 17 games with the Giants, James received the ball 57 times and covered 569 yards, averaging 10 yards per carry. He also notched up four touchdowns to his name, one more than he had in his first three seasons in the league. 2022 was also James' best season in the league. James, although, is willing to contribute in any way the Chiefs want him to. "Wherever they put me at, I'm just here to contribute to whatever they want me to do," he said. Overall, James had a perfect answer when asked about what he likes the most about his new franchise: "Everything," James had said. In his four-year long career, James has played in 57 games so far.
The Bengals and Chiefs rivalry is one of the most intense ones in the NFL. Cincinnati, after drafting Burrow as their QB, has been a better team in the last 3-4 years. The Bengals have also won three out of four games played against the Chiefs in the last two seasons which also included a win in the 2021 AFC championship game.

The Chiefs, nonetheless, have the bragging rights after beating the Bengals 23-20 in last season's AFC title game. Kelce was on 'The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon' when he made the announcement. The musical guest on the show during Kelce's episode will be country singer Kelsea Ballerini. NFL: Super Bowl LVII winner Travis Kelce to host 'Saturday Night Live' on March 4

Super Bowl LVII was a game of emotions, skill, hard work, talent and luck. It became historic as well with two brothers playing opposite each other for the first time, that is Travis and Jason Kelce, for the Chiefs and the Eagles, respectively. The brothers played their hearts out at the biggest stage of the game but as the rule dictates, only one of them could lift the Lombardi trophy and in this case, it was Travis Kelce as Kansas City beat Philadelphia 38-35. The adrenaline has now settled and the brothers got together for their immensely popular podcast New Heights to recount the madness of the Super Bowl LVII week.

During the podcast, Jason talked about his future and like every player, he's exhausted from the crazy week he had. The Eagles Centre said he couldn't answer right now about playing or not playing in the next season. "Man, I can't answer that right now. No chance," 35-year-old Jason said during the podcast. "We'll answer that soon enough, I guess. I don't know the answer to that right now. So I can't answer it."

Both the brothers were visibly emotional during the podcast and tried hard to fight their tears. Travis even mentioned that he was "boo-hoo" crying all week. The 33-year-old Tight End for the Chiefs won his second Super Bowl in four years and didn't hide his thoughts about the event at all.

Super Bowl LVII: Kansas City Chiefs beat Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 after a late dash

The Super Bowl LVII between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday was a game of inspiration, frenzy, spirited performance, slippery field, and a controversial call in the final minutes of the championship showdown. A call that may have changed the outcome of the game or denied a chance of the game going into OT. The call in question here was made with the game hanging in balance at 35-35 and with 1:54 minutes left on the clock, the refs gave a defence holding penalty against the Eagles. The call immediately gave the Chiefs, which were 3rd-and-8 at the Eagles' 15-yard line, a first down.

Eagles fans didn't like it. LeBron James didn't agree with the call. A lot of former players called the refs out for the outrageous call which stopped the game short of becoming one of the all-time classics. Here are some of the tweets:

The scores were 38-35 and FG was good, good enough for the Chiefs to win their second Super Bowl in four years.

One of the two involved in the call, Eagles cornerback James Bradberry, however, accepted that he was holding Chief's Juju Smith-Schuster's jersey.
Well, even if the penalty was technically right, it raises a question of whether the game has become too technically right with no space for some harmless non-direction-changing plays. Imagine, if the call wasn't given. The Chiefs would have scored the FG but the Eagles would have had enough time to respond and level and we might have been writing about that play instead of this one. But alas, it shall stay as what if.

The Super Bowl LVII between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday was a game of inspiration, frenzy, spirited performance, slippery field, and a controversial call in the final minutes of the championship showdown.

Here are some of the tweets: They ruined it again — Richard Sherman (@RSherman_25) February 13, 2023 × Sorry but I don’t like that call! Not for the Super Bowl man! 🤦🏾‍♂️ — LeBron James (@KingJames) February 13, 2023 × That’s such a crappy way to decide a Super Bowl man — Mina Kimes (@minakimes) February 13, 2023 × That is a far too soft and terrible a penalty call on which to end a Super Bowl. A crime against all of us. — M@ (@MattSpiegel670) February 13, 2023 × You absolutely cannot make that call there — Julian Edelman (@Edelman11) February 13, 2023 × The refs were doing such a great job letting the boys play. That call is actual bull shit and should have never been called. Embarrassing. — Taylor Lewan (@TaylorLewan77) February 13, 2023 × What happened after that call was pure game awareness from the Chiefs. Their QB Patrick Mahomes, despite a troubling ankle, continued with the drive, which ended in Chiefs' Kicker Harrison Butker's 27-yard field goal with just eight seconds left on the clock.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was named the Super Bowl LVII MVP as Kansas City rallied from behind to beat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in the championship showdown on Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Arizona. The Chiefs' QB gave a spirited performance despite a troubling ankle and threw three touchdowns while completing 21 of 27 pass attempts for a total of 182 yards. Mahomes was earlier named the league MVP before the Super Bowl as the QB led its team to a 14-3 regular season record before going 3-0 in the postseason. This is the Chiefs' second Lombardi trophy in four years and third in total with Mahomes becoming only the 13th QB in NFL history to win multiple championships.

NFL: Patrick Mahomes named Super Bowl LVII MVP, Chiefs beat Eagles to win Lombardi Trophy

Apart from Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes' game-winning MVP performance against the Philadelphia Eagles, the surface of the State Farm Stadium in Arizona was also a hot topic during the Super Bowl LVII. The players from both teams termed the surface slippery and sliding. Several players went for a change of cleats as they found it hard to manage footing and slipped on many occasions. The Eagles QB Jalen Hurts was also one of the players to go for different cleats to get a better grip and traction. The Chiefs QB Mahomes, who played with a sprained ankle, also slipped while trying to make a cut but manage to scramble for a few yards.

"The field was kind of terrible," Kansas City defensive lineman Frank Clark said. "We've had this problem in Arizona before. A lot of these stadiums try to do new tactics with the grass, they try to do new things. I've been playing football since I was 7. The best grass is grass that is naturally there. "At the end of the day, it was the field that we were given."

Both the Chiefs and the Eagles managed 340 or more yards on offense, however, the total points of both teams were only 73. Eagles offensive lineman Jordan Mailata went one up and termed the field as a water park! "The footing? It was terrible," he said. "But the Kansas City Chiefs had to play on it, too. To be fair, they kind of said it was terrible, too, during the TV timeout. So, I'm glad we were on the same page. It was just slick. You couldn't anchor. You had to get your whole foot in the ground. If you try and use just your toe, you'd slip right away. You saw the receivers -- it was like a water park out there. And we're playing on grass," added Mailata.

Apart from Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes' game-winning MVP performance against the Philadelphia Eagles, the surface of the State Farm Stadium in Arizona was also a hot topic during the Super Bowl LVII.

Also Read: Super Bowl LVII: Kansas City Chiefs beat Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 after a late dash "The field was kind of terrible," Kansas City defensive lineman Frank Clark said. "We've had this problem in Arizona before. A lot of these stadiums try to do new tactics with the grass, they try to do new things. I've been playing football since I was 7. The best grass is grass that is naturally there. "At the end of the day, it was the field that we were given." Both the Chiefs and the Eagles managed 340 or more yards on offense, however, the total points of both teams were only 73.
The Philadelphia Eagles, prepping for the Super Bowl LVII, have activated punter Arryn Siposs ahead of the marquee clash, set to be played on February 12 at the State Farm stadium in Phoenix, Arizona against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Eagles have also promoted safety Anthony Harris and receiver Greg Ward from the practice squad to the active roster. Siposss was on the injured list since Week 14 after he injured his ankle during the game against the New York Giants. Siposs will take the place back from his replacement Brett Kern, who could not fill the shoes in Siposs' absence.

Siposs averages 45.6 yards per punt this season with a net average of 40.5 yards. Kern, on the other hand, averaged a mediocre 42.2 yards per punt and an even lower net average of 37.7 yards. The Super Bowl-bound teams, meanwhile, are fine-tuning their plans one last time as they face each other on Sunday.

"The Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world. As scary as that was because I haven't been on stage in seven years, there's something exhilarating about the challenge of it all." she told a media presentation on Thursday.

"It's important for me to do this, this year. It's important for representation. It's important for my son to see this," she added.

Rihanna said in an interview with Vogue in 2019 that she "couldn't be a sellout, I couldn't be an enabler" and said there were things within the NFL "that I do not agree with at all".

The singer did not hold the usual pre-Super Bowl press conference but conducted an interview with a presenter from half-time show sponsors Apple Music and she said her music would reflect her Caribbean roots.

"That's a big part of why this is important for me to do this show: representation. Representing for immigrants. Representing for black women everywhere. That's key for people to see the possibilities," she said.

"It's a long way from home, right? It's a beautiful journey that I'm on. I could have never guessed that I would have made it here, so it's a celebration of that. I'm really excited to have Barbados on the Super Bowl stage."

Rihanna gave away no clues about who her expected guest artists would be on stage but said her set-list would be a "celebration" of her catalogue.
