Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently posed for their first joint cover image for Time magazine. The couple made it to the Time's 100 most influential people list and feature in one of the cover images of the special issue.

While it was a momentous occasion for the couple, the image of the two caught some backlash on social media mainly because of the 'awkward' appearances.

Harry, who celebrated his 37th birthday on Wednesday, was dressed in all black and sat behind Meghan with a hand on her shoulder. The former actress, 40, donned a white pantsuit and gold jewellery.

The two were honoured for their activism and philanthropic work over the past year.

The cover image though invited mixed reactions on Twitter with most commenting on their awkward body language.
Prince Harry to write a memoir: 'Writing not as prince but as the man I have become'

After `happily` reuniting with his brother -- Prince William -- at her late mother Princess Diana`s statue unveiling event, the Duke of Sussex- Prince Harry is back to his wife and kids in the United States.
Prince Harry and Prince William paid tribute to their late mother Diana at the Kensington Palace on July 1, which marks her 60th birth anniversary. Despite the ongoing royal tension, the brothers who were not on good terms with each other in recent years were all smiles while unveiling the statue together.

As per reports by Page Six, the Duke of Sussex was spotted at the Los Angeles airport on Saturday morning. On Thursday, the brothers joined the armed forces at their childhood home, Kensington Palace, to reveal the statue, which they commissioned four years ago.

The sculpture depicts their mother with three children, reflecting Diana`s work to support and nurture children around the world. Despite speculation that the royal brothers might each deliver a speech for the occasion, they issued a joint statement that read, "We remember her love, strength and character-- qualities that made her a force for good around the world, changing countless lives for the better. Every day, we wish she were still with us, and our hope is that this statue will be seen forever as a symbol of her life and legacy."

As per Page Six, the statue, which features Diana standing beside three children to represent her "generational impact," includes a paving stone engraved with the message, "There are the units to measure the worth of this woman as a woman regardless of birth. Not what was her station? But had she a heart? How did she play her God-given part?"

The guest list of the event was cut short to only 15 people due to the COVID-19 safety protocols. Among the guests, Diana`s sisters- Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Lady Jane Fellowes, and her brother, Charles Spencer were also present.

William`s wife Kate Middleton was not in attendance, nor was Harry`s wife, Meghan Markle, who remained in California with the couple`s two young children: 2-year-old son Archie Harrison and daughter Lilibet Diana, who was born on June 4.

The event marked the first time the brothers have been together since the funeral of their grandfather Prince Philip in May. Plans for the statue were first announced in February 2017, although the event was scaled back due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions in the UK.

Every day, we wish she were still with us, and our hope is that this statue will be seen forever as a symbol of her life and legacy." As per Page Six, the statue, which features Diana standing beside three children to represent her "generational impact," includes a paving stone engraved with the message, "There are the units to measure the worth of this woman as a woman regardless of birth. Not what was her station? But had she a heart? How did she play her God-given part?" The guest list of the event was cut short to only 15 people due to the COVID-19 safety protocols.

Markle confessed she had no clue what her royal marriage would bring into her life, saying, "There was no way to understand what the day-to-day was going to be like." "That`s what was really tricky over those past few years, is when the perception and the reality are two very different things. And you`re being judged on the perception, but you`re living the reality of it," she added. The couple moved to America in early 2020 after quitting their roles as senior members of the British royal family. They announced their second pregnancy earlier this year on Valentine's Day.

A fundraiser set up to pay off Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Calfornia estate - costing a whopping $14.6 million- has been shut down after raising merely $110.

Calfornia-based Anastasia Hanson had set up the GoFundMe page two days after Harry and Meghan's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey was aired. Hanson reportedly wanted strangers to support the couple and insisted she did not start it as a joke.

During the interview, Prince Harry had stated that his family had cut him off financially and that he had been relying on the inheritance left to him by his mother, the late Princess Diana.

Hanson said she initiated the fundraiser as she felt sorry for the couple.

The page set up by Hanson stated she wanted 2 million of Harry and Meghan's fans to donate $5 each so they could reach the goal of $10 million. The page has now been removed.

The page had read, "I am Anastasia Hanson of Ventura, California and I am raising funds to pay off the mortgage for the Montecito, California home of Harry and Meghan.

"After their interview, I was moved with compassion to help get their home paid off. As they are now financially independent, this will help and be a loving gift."

The archived record of the page shows that only $110 was raised and only three people including Hanson herself had contributed to the cause.

"I like to help people and help them in any way I can," she told The Sun. "That gives me happiness. If you needed a home, I'd do the same for you. It's a good deed."

She said she was aware that Harry and Meghan had signed multi-million dollar deals with Netflix and Spotify but still was keen to do her bit.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made a few changes to their Archewell Foundation website.

According to Us Weekly, the royal couple appears to have edited the website and removed personal photos of the royal prince. The series of photos missing from the site includes that of Prince Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, as well as an image of Meghan with her mom Doria.

The site previously paired these images with the message,“I am my mother’s son. And I am our son’s mother. Together we bring you Archewell. We believe in the best of humanity. Because we have seen the best of humanity. We have experienced compassion and kindness, from our mothers and strangers alike.”

Archewell’s homepage now shows Meghan and Harry doing charity work, along with the slightly less personal message,“Welcome to Archewell. Through our non-profit work, as well as creative activations, we drive systemic cultural change across all communities, one act of compassion at a time.”

This change comes post the Sussexes officially stepped away from senior royal duties and were relieved of their patronages.

The couple will be seen next in a tell-all interview with Oprah where absolutely nothing is off the table. Meghan is expected to cover“everything from stepping into life as a royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure,” while Harry will then join her to talk about“their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family.”
"My biggest concern was history repeating itself," Harry said, apparently referring to his mother Princess Diana, who was hounded by the British press and died at age 36 in a car crash in Paris after her divorce from Prince Charles.
UK's Duchess Meghan says pain caused by tabloid paper runs deep

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry surprised a class of young poets to support a cause that's important to them.

The couple surprised the young class of the Los Angeles-based educational group Get Lit - Words Ignite, which uses poetry to increase literacy, empower youth and inspire communities, recently via Zoom. The manager of community outreach for Get Lit - Words Ignite, Mason Granger, shared a screenshot of the sweet surprise on Instagram, with Harry and Meghan both smiling big.

Granger called the moment "surreal."

"Soooo Prince Harry and Meghan dropped into my poetry class on Saturday and kicked it with the Get Lit Players for a multitude of minutes," Granger wrote. "My favorite part of it all was Meghan echoing so many sentiments we've talked about in class, about this particular moment in time/history to be a young person and the ripple effect of a single voice. The root of them deciding to come is because at some point in their lives, they were moved by a poem. And whoever wrote that poem at some point thought to themselves, 'Does this even matter? Is anyone even listening?' And they shared it anyway. Fast forward ripple ripple ripple and these kids get a surprise 45 minute chat with the Prince Harry and Meghan. It was pretty surreal."

Granger called the moment "surreal." "Soooo Prince Harry and Meghan dropped into my poetry class on Saturday and kicked it with the Get Lit Players for a multitude of minutes," Granger wrote. It was pretty surreal." View this post on Instagram A post shared by Mason Granger (@masongranger) × Granger shared that the couple took the time to learn about the kids before surprising them on Zoom. "My kids shared poems, they asked questions, the kids answered and asked questions back, they responded authentically (they actually read and learned the kids bios I'd sent earlier)," he wrote. "I just want to say that the Get Lit Players are brilliant and 10/10 would recommend The Duke and Duchess of Sussex for your next Zoom poetry practice."
Princess Diana's fairytale turned sour enters British television series 'The Crown' for the first time this season, opening the door for more heartache for her sons Prince William and Prince Harry.

Focusing on the 1980s, the new season released on Netflix on Sunday delves into the marriage of Diana and heir to the throne Prince Charles, as well as Diana`s struggles with bulimia and both of their affairs.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were reportedly denied permission from having a wreath laid on their behalf at a cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday in the UK.

They also left a wreath, as is traditionally done on the holiday, inscribed with a plaque that reads, "In Memory of the Men Who Offered Their Lives in Defence of Their Country." Harry also attached a personal note to the wreath. "To all of those who have served, and are serving," he wrote. "Thank you."

He also spoke about his experiences in the armed forces, describing his relationship with veterans as "like meeting an old mate".

Britain`s Prince Harry and his American wife Meghan have called on Americans to register to vote in the upcoming U.S. presidential election, entering into political territory where British royals traditionally do not venture.

In a video for 2020 Time 100, the US magazine`s list of the world`s most influential people, the couple said people who were able to cast their vote, should do so.

Harry and Meghan now live in California, having stepped down from their senior royal roles in March.

"Every four years we are told the same thing that this is the most important election of our lifetime," Meghan said.

"But this one is. When we vote, our values are put into action and our voices are heard, your voice is a reminder that you matter, because you do, and you deserve to be heard."

Meghan, who married Queen Elizabeth`s grandson in 2018, criticized US President Donald Trump during his 2016 election campaign as being misogynistic and divisive.

Last year, Trump, on being told of Meghan`s criticism, said: "I didn`t know that. What can I say? I didn`t know that she was nasty."

Under Britain`s unwritten constitution, the royal family are expected to remain politically neutral and do not vote in elections. The queen, 94, has rarely strayed into current affairs issues during her 68-year reign.

"This election, I`m not going to be able to vote in the U.S., but many of you may not know that I haven`t been able to vote in the UK my entire life," Harry said in the video. "As we approach this November, it`s vital that we reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity."

While Harry did not endorse Trump`s opponent, Democrat challenger Joe Biden, his comments led to criticism he was interfering in politics.

"Prince Harry poking his woke nose into the U.S. election & effectively telling Americans to vote against President Trump is completely unacceptable behaviour for a member of the Royal Family," Piers Morgan, a former CNN television host and now a British breakfast show presenter, wrote on Twitter.

UK's Prince Harry and wife Meghan encourage Americans to vote in 'most important' election

Ever since George Floyd died in police custody in America in May 2020, there has been a lot of conversation around racism and the lack of representation in different various fields.

On Wednesday, Prince Harry apologised for institutional racism during a speech he recorded for the Diana Awards. It was Princess Diana's birth anniversary - and the charity that has been set up in her honour awards individuals for their humanitarian work.

This year, owing to the pandemic, the ceremony was virtual and Duke of Sussex's address was a pre-recorded video clip. In his speech, Harry said that "institutional racism' has no place in our societies, yet it is still endemic."

"My wife said recently that our generation and the ones before us haven't done enough to right the wrongs of the past," he said.

"I, too, am sorry. Sorry that we haven't got the world to the place that you deserve it to be."

The speech came on what would have been the 59th birthday of Princess Diana, the prince's mother. She died in a Paris car crash in 1997 when Harry was 12.

Harry paid tribute to young people being recognized at the ceremony for their work on race and injustice, saying he saw 'greatest hope' in them amid the division and anger in the world.

In 2016. Harry accused the media of harassing Meghan, his then-girlfriend, and criticized 'racial undertones' in some coverage of her. Meghan's mother is Black and her father is white.

She gave a speech last month to students at her old high school in Los Angeles following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

The couple now lives in Los Angeles with their son, Archie, following their exit from roles as senior working royals earlier this year.

The Diana Awards 2020 honoured several young humanitarians- from India, UK, and Pakistan- for their exemplanary work for the underprivileged.

The rift between Prince William and Prince Harry is now a well-known fact. It is also known that the wives of the two brothers didn't get along from the beginning and that caused further tension between the couples. Now a recent report in a magazine states that tensions started brewing between Meghan and Kate in 2018 when the former was about to get married to Prince Harry.

A report in Tatler states that the spat between the two Duchess happened over Princess Charlotte who was one of the bridesmaids at Harry and Meghan's wedding. Meghan did not want her little bridesmaid to wear tights while Kate, being more conventional insisted that her daughter and others wore tights as per tradition.

"There was an incident at the wedding rehearsal," the source said. "It was a hot day and apparently there was a row over whether the bridesmaids should wear tights or not."

"Kate, following protocol, felt that they should. Meghan didn't want them to."

Pictures from the wedding at St George's Chapel, Windsor, appear to show the six bridesmaids with bare legs, while photographs from Prince William and Kate's wedding in April 2011 show bridesmaids wearing tights.

Another friend of Kate's sates that the Duchess of Cambridge feels exhausted because of the added responsibility that has come her and William's way after Harry and Meghan quit their roles from the royal family.

The couple, who also have sons George, six, and Louis, two – have made several appearances by video link during the lockdown, while Harry and 38-year-old Meghan are setting up their new life with son Archie, one, in Los Angeles.

The friend adds that Kate would ideally want to be a hands-on parent to her children but owing to the royal responsibilities is unable to devote as much time to them.
