Amir infamously deliberately bowled no-balls as part of a spot-fixing scandal in a Test against England at Lord's in 2010. He was banned for five years and jailed by a UK court.

The PCB also said the arrival of batsman Shoaib Malik had been delayed due to India's extension of a ban on international flights pushing back his planned family reunion.

Malik is married to Indian tennis star Sania Mirza.

Amir will replace another fast bowler, Haris Rauf, who has undergone six coronavirus tests, five of which have returned positive.

The PCB was arranging for Rauf to fly to Britain on Wednesday but another test on Sunday came back positive.

All players need two negative tests before they are eligible to go on the England tour.&nbsp;

PCB said Rauf is asymptomatic and has been advised to self-quarantine for another 10 days.

The 26-year-old Rauf came into the limelight earlier this year when he performed well in Australia's Big Bash Twenty20 league. He has so far played two Twenty20 internationals for Pakistan.

Before travelling to the UK, tests were conducted under PCB's protocols where he was first tested positive, however, the following to tests have turned out to be negative. So the player was allowed to travel for the tour.&nbsp;

After arriving in the UK, the player was tested again under the ECB protocols and was tested positive. He had to isolate himself, but later tests confirmed that he was negative and was allowed to join the squad in Worcester.&nbsp;

There was confusion over the initial positive test in the UK but an ECB spokesperson said it was "for the remnants of a previous Covid-19 infection".

"The player had returned a positive test result for the remnants of a previous Covid-19 infection and in consultation with Public Health England and a virologist, a safety-first approach was taken to isolate the player," the spokesperson said. "The player has now returned a second negative test with no risk of infection to other players and staff."

Bhatti arrived in the UK on July 8, he travelled with Haider Ali and Imran Khan. While self-isolating, Bhatti remained in the same hotel where the squad stayed but did not train with them. He trained separately.&nbsp;

Mani’s comments follow Cricket Australia Chairman Earl Eddings’s comments after the latter said that the showpiece event seems “unrealistic and very, very difficult” given the logistical and international travel concerns.&nbsp;

ICC, after their last Board meeting, had said that they would take a call on the T20 World Cup next month as it wants to take the best possible decision regarding the future of the tournament. Whereas CA chairman Eddings said the prospect of hosting the T20 World Cup is unlikely.

"I would say it is unlikely...Trying to get (teams from) 16 countries into Australia when most countries are still going through COVID spiking is unrealistic or very, very difficult," CA chairman Eddings said on Tuesday.

"There is no cricket being played right now but in two months' time we will know what is the position because West Indies and Pakistan are to play in England if things go according to plan," he added.

The 29-year-old batsman has 14 days to appeal against the two three-year bans which will run concurrently. The detailed judgement also stated that Akmal tried to refuge under the pretext that he has always reported any such approaches in past.

“It appears that he (Umar Akmal) is not prepared to show remorse and seek apology, make admission that he failed to fulfill his responsibility under Anti-Corruption Code...,” Justice Chauhan said in the judgement.

Umar had 14 days to respond to the charges in writing.

Umar has a history of disciplinary problems, having been arrested and detained for a day after a brawl with a traffic warden in 2014.&nbsp;

He was also banned for three months after a spat with then Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur in 2017.

The former Lankan wicketkeeper-captain will be leading the MCC (Marylebone Cricket Club) squad who are set to clash with Pakistan Super League's Lahore Qalandars in the first T20 match of the four-match tour.

The squad announced by chief selector and head coach Misbah-ul-Haq is a total revamp to the team which lost 3-0 to Sri Lanka in October last year, and then 2-0 to <a href="https://www.wionews.com/.../finch-warner-slay-india-australia-win-first-odi- by-10-wickets-274267">Australia </a>in November.

It comes as Pakistan hopes to hang on to its world number one rankings in the shorter format as well as prepare for the Twenty20 World Cup in Australia in nine months.

The 53rd meeting of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Board of Governors, was adjourned on Wednesday for a later date due to an incomplete quorum.

The meeting was adjourned for a brief period, as five members attempted to table a resolution which was not part of the meeting's agenda.

The PCB Chairman, Ehsan Mani, had proposed that any business other than the agenda could be considered under 'Any Other Items' at the end of the meeting. But, the Khan Research Laboratory (KRL) and the four other regional representatives refused to return for the completion of the meeting.

"I am hugely disappointed by today's events as I was looking forward to an interactive, productive and constructive discussion, which was aimed at taking Pakistan cricket forward," PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani said in an official statement.

"Yesterday, we called on the honourable Chief Minister of Balochistan and engaged in fruitful and enlightening discussions to promote cricket in Balochistan.

It is, therefore, particularly disappointing that the representative from Balochistan also refused to return for the BoG meeting. We reaffirm our commitment to doing what is right for Pakistan cricket and once again becoming a strong force in the world game, and must not get derailed by personal agendas," he added.

Ehsan Mani, PCB Chairman, Asad Ali Khan, Kabir Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Ayaz Butt, Muhammad Numan Butt, Shah Dost, Shahrez Abdullah Khan , Akbar Durrani attended the meeting whereas Lt Gen (R) Muzammil Hussain and Lt Gen (R) Javed Zia were not able to attend the meeting due to prior engagements.

Earlier, the meeting had started with the members offering "fateha" for all those people who lost their lives in the tragic incident in Quetta's Hazarganji market as well as Naseem Khan who passed away recently. Khan was a first-class cricketer and a PCB coach.

Pakistan batsman Umar Akmal has courted controversy again, despite only recently being brought back to the international fold following a two-year absence, after breaching a team curfew ahead of the fifth one-dayer against Australia.

Akmal was sent home from Pakistan's 2017 Champions Trophy squad in England for failing fitness tests and followed that up with a public outburst against head coach Mickey Arthur.

"The PCB expects a high level of professionalism and commitment from its players, and this action is a reiteration and timely reminder that any indiscipline shall not be tolerated or accepted."

Akmal made his debut as a 19-year-old in 2009 in a Test against New Zealand. Once considered the future of Pakistan's batting, he played the last of his 16 matches in the longest format in 2011.

He was part of the playing side in all five matches in the UAE and totalled 150 runs during the series, which Australia won 5-0.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has paid the BCCI approximately $1.6 million as compensation after losing the case it filed against the Indian Board for allegedly not honouring a bilateral agreement, PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani claimed on Monday.&nbsp;

The PCB had filed a compensation case against the BCCI last year before the ICC's Dispute Resolution Committee, demanding around $70 million.

The ICC dismissed it and asked the PCB to compensate the legal cost to the BCCI.&nbsp;

"We incurred cost of around $2.2 million on the compensation case which we lost," Mani said.

"The ICC committee did accept that Pakistan had a case and that is why the damages/cost we had to pay to the Indian board was around $1.6 million," Mani said.&nbsp;

Mani insisted that besides the amount paid to India to cover the legal cost, the other expenses were related to legal fees and travel.

According to the PCB, the agreement with India, which it claimed was a binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), ensured Pakistan six bilateral series between 2015 and 2023.

Pakistan said the BCCI reneged on the commitment, causing it losses running into millions of dollars.

The Indian Cricket Board, however, maintained that the discussion with PCB was a proposal and never a legally binding MoU.&nbsp;

PCB had anticipated that the matter had been resolved amicably between the two players and the two Boards following Sarfraz Ahmed's public apologies, which were accepted by the player, the Board and South Africa cricket team," the statement said.

"The PCB will be pursuing this matter at the ICC forums with the objective to bring reforms to the Code, promoting amicable resolutions to issues as opposed to penalties. Having said that, the PCB reiterates its zero-tolerance approach towards racist comments and behavior," it said.&nbsp;

The PCB also announced that Sarfraz would be returning home immediately from South Africa.

Sarfraz was heard on stump microphone of making racist remarks directed at Andile Phehlukwayo.

"Abey kaalay, teri ammi aaj kahan baitheen hain? Kya parhwa ke aya hai aaj tu? (Hey black (man), where is your mother sitting? What prayer did you get her to say for you today)?" Sarfraz was heard as saying.

Shoaib Malik will captain the team for the remaining ODIs and T20 internationals while Mohammad Rizwan has been included in the T20I side.

A PCB source said that the Board was unaware that Sarfraz would be suspended for four matches when it named him on Saturday to lead the team in the T20 series in South Africa, beginning on February 6.

"We were not aware what penalty the ICC would impose on him and when. There was some doubt if Sarfraz would face a ban after he had apologised publicly and in person to the South Africa players including Andile Phehlukwayo," a PCB official told PTI on Sunday.

Sarfraz, who leads Pakistan in all three formats, became the first Pakistani player to be penalized by the ICC under its anti-racism code.

The source also said that the ICC had considered an eight-match ban but took into account his prompt apology and the report of the match referee Ranjan Madugalle.

According to media reports, Pakistan's chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq and South African players Hashim Amla and Imran Tahir had played major roles in diffusing the situation.

Inzamam, who is in South Africa watching the one-day series with the World Cup in mind, used his friendship with Amla and Tahir to diffuse the situation.

The 'Daily Jang' newspaper reported that Inzamam had approached Amla and Tahir immediately after the incident happened and requested them to help out in containing the situation.

Inzamam and the PCB directed Sarfraz to immediately issue a public apology. Inzamam, Amla and Tahir arranged the meeting between Sarfraz and Phehlukwayo in which the Pakistan skipper extended his apologies and insisted it was unintentional.&nbsp;
