After the meeting, Union Minister of Jal Shakti, CR PPaatil,said, &ldquo;A roadmap was prepared in the meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Three options were discussed in the meeting. The government is working on short-term, medium-term, and long-term measures so that not even a drop of water goes to Pakistan. Soon, desilting of rivers will be done to stop the water and divert it.&rdquo;
The decision comes after terrorists attacked tourists at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam on 22 April, killing 26 people and leaving many injured.

An intense hailstorm resulted in widespread damage to cars, solar panels, and infrastructure in Pakistan’s Islamabad on Wednesday (Apr 16). The severe weather transformed the city into a winter-like landscape. Pakistani media reported that the storm began suddenly in the afternoon, bringing heavy rain, strong winds, and large hailstones, wreaking havoc in the national capital. Two workers hailing from Telangana, Ashtapu Prem Sagar and Srinivas, were attacked by their Pakistani coworker, who worked at Modern Bakery LLC in Dubai during working hours on April 11. Ashtapu Prem Sagar was from Nirmal district while Srinivas hailed from Nizamabad district.

&ldquo;Spoke to Ministry of External Affairs officials today and our MHA office remains in constant touch with them,&rdquo; he said.

&ldquo;Grateful to the Ministry of External Affairs for their swift response and for pursuing the matter with urgency. We are extending all necessary support for the early repatriation of the victims and stand firmly with their families in this hour of grief,&rdquo; said Kumar.

In response to media queries regarding comments made by Pakistan on the Waqf Bill, the MEA&rsquo;s Official Spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, said, &ldquo;We strongly reject the motivated and baseless comments made by Pakistan on the Waqf Amendment Act enacted by the Parliament of India. Pakistan has no locus standi to comment on a matter that is internal to India. Pakistan would do better to look at its own abysmal record when it comes to protecting the rights of minorities, instead of preaching to others.&rdquo;

Eight Pakistani workers were killed by gunmen in southeastern Iran on Saturday (April 12) in what appears to be a targeted killing in the restive province of Sistan-Baluchestan. The eight victims, all from Pakistan&rsquo;s Punjab, were working at a car repair workshop in Meharistan district when armed assailants arrived, tied them up, and opened indiscriminate fire at them.

According to Pakistani broadcaster ARY, Saudi officials said travellers holding Umrah visas can still enter the country up until 13 April. After that, the restrictions will apply fully.

Senior US official heads to Pakistan with focus on critical minerals deal

Jailed former prime minister Imran Khan has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts towards "human rights and democracy in Pakistan", an advocacy group said. The announcement was made by Pakistan World Alliance (PWA), the advocacy group founded last December and affiliated with the Norwegian political party Partiet Sentrum.
"We are pleased to announce on behalf of Partiet Sentrum that in alliance with somebody with the right to nominate, have nominated Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan, to the Nobel Peace Prize for his work with human rights and democracy in Pakistan," Partiet Sentrum said on X on Sunday.
Anyone can be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by "qualified nominators". There are several categories of qualified nominators including members of national assemblies and governments.
Every year, the Norwegian Nobel Committee receives hundreds of nominations after which they select the winner through a lengthy eight-month process, The Express Tribune reported.
