Director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan took to Facebook and shared a lengthy note in Malayalam, loosely translated, "I saw the movie Thudarum. It's made by stealing the skeleton of my screenplay, Theeyattam, which I wrote in 2020. A crucial dialogue from my screenplay, "Konnaal paapam thinnaal theerum(a proverb meaning, ‘the sin of killing is absolved on eating’) is used in this film despite being completely unnecessary. Even expert thieves, skilled at stealing without leaving a trace, can forget themselves due to certain whims. I felt the use of this dialogue was one such slip-up". The makers and the cast of Thudarum are yet to respond to the accusations.&nbsp;For the unversed, Sanal Kumar Sasidharan started his filmmaking journey by directing three short films and one feature film through crowdfunding. Mohanlal shared a sweet picture with his wife, Suchitra, celebrating their 37th anniversary. The couple married on 28 April 1988 and have two children, Pranav Mohanlal and Vismaya Mohanlal. Prithviraj Sukumaran, as a director, has done a solid job for the most part, but it is clear that the much larger scale of the movie, the exotic locations, and the new toys he gets to play with keep distracting him and end up being the focus rather than the characters and storyline.
Particularly in the action set pieces, which, other than a few exceptions, lack any real excitement or intensity. There are slow-motion shots that overstay their welcome, drone shots for the sake of having one, and the overuse of the mediocre music by Deepak Dev, doesn't enhance the mass elements of the movie but deters them instead.

He carries every scene he is in. The movie is a testament to how skilled and nuanced his dialogue delivery is, even the hammy ones. There is a scene in particular in the first half of the movie when he interacts with Indrajith Sukumaran&rsquo;s character, Govardhan, where he warns him with a few lines of dialogue and some great acting that he is nothing more than a tool in a larger game.
The parts of the movie that explore the political parties of Kerala and their dynamic of engaging. The supporting cast was great, but the standouts were Abhimanyu Singh, Manju Warrier, Jerome Flynn, and Eriq Ebouaney. The film&rsquo;s streaming rights have reportedly been sold to Netflix for ₹40 crore ($4.6 million), setting a new record for Malayalam cinema. Empuraan is the brainchild of Prithviraj Sukumaran and Murali Gopy, with Lucifer marking Prithviraj&rsquo;s directorial debut and becoming one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of all time.

The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast featuring Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Saniya Iyappan, Saikumar, Baiju Santhosh, Fazil, and Sachin Khedekar.
