<p>Amid a year of controversy, the Hollywood Foreign Press, the body responsible for the annual Golden Globe Awards announced its nominees for the 2022 awards and tried to redeem itself with more representation- at least in the nomination list.&nbsp;<br />

Perhaps the biggest show this year- Korean drama 'Squid Games' earned two nominations in Best Drama TV series and Best Actor category. 'Ted Lasso', 'Succession' and 'Pose' too earned nominations.&nbsp;<br />

Amid a year of controversy, the Hollywood Foreign Press, the body responsible for the annual Golden Globe Awards announced its nominees for the 2022 awards and tried to redeem itself with more representation- at least in the nomination list. Perhaps the biggest show this year- Korean drama 'Squid Games' earned two nominations in Best Drama TV series and Best Actor category. 'Ted Lasso', 'Succession' and 'Pose' too earned nominations. Jessica Chastain earned two nominations - in Best Actress Motion Picture Drama for 'The Eyes of Tammy Faye' and in a Limited Series category for 'Scenes From a Marriage.' In the same category, Kate Winslet too earned a nod for 'Mare of Easttown'. Lady Gaga predictably earned a nomination in Best Actress motion picture drama category for 'House Of Gucci' meanwhile Benedict Cumberbatch clenched a best actor nod for 'The Power of Dog'. <p>This is not a story that is being told the first time and you’d still feel glued to every scene as Lady Gaga and Adam Driver play husband and wife, Patrizia Reggiani and Maurizio Gucci who were the talk of the town in Gucci’s heydays -- &nbsp;when it was still run by the Gucci family.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Ridley Scott takes care of every minute detail in the film as it explores the dark, personal side of a love gone sour while lots happens in the forefront of one of the oldest and most credible luxury fashion houses that is a name to reckon with in the fashion world, Gucci. The film paints a vivid picture of what must have happened between Gucci heir Maurizio and his wife Patrizia as their fairytale romance turned into jealousy, fame-driven vengeful act of passion that ended up killing the former.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Lady Gaga shines and looks her best as she delivers an award-winning performance. If she doesn’t get all the acting awards, we’d be surprised because in all honesty, she owns the film and how. The singer-actress shows us a range of emotions -- from a social butterfly who can easily strike a conversation to an ultra romantic who exudes lustful passion to money and power-rich monster who got consumed with greed in the end and couldn’t take rejection when she gets snubbed by her lover. Adam Driver is convincing as Gucci heir but the screenplay does give Gaga more scope or she’s just brilliant and takes your attention every time she’s on the screen. Worthy of mention are Al Pacino as Aldo Gucci, Jared Leto as his son Paulo Gucci, Jeremy Irons as Rodolfo Gucci who do justice to their characters and take the Gucci story forward adding weight in their own way.&nbsp;</p>

Set mostly in Milan, it spins out a sprawling, chaotic, borderline-operatic tale of family feuding, sexual jealousy and capitalist intrigue, with plenty of drinks, cigarettes and snacks (the carpaccio comes highly recommended). Also cars, shoes, hats, sport coats, handbags, dresses, lingerie — whatever you want!</p>

But for all that abundance, something is missing. A lot of things, really, but mostly a strong idea and a credible reason for existing. The true story of how the Gucci family lost control of the company that still bears its name — and of how its scion, Maurizio Gucci, lost his life to a hit man’s bullets — could have inspired Bernardo Bertolucci to heights of decadent spectacle, Luchino Visconti to flights of dialectical extravagance or Lina Wertmuller to feats of perverse ideological analysis. The raw material plays as tragedy and farce at the same time.</p>

The actual director, Ridley Scott, possesses ample style and impressive craft, but at least this time around seems to be lacking the necessary vision or inspiration. For a while it seems like the music cues (David Bowie, Eurythmics) might also help, but at some point in the ’80s the playlist gets scrambled.</p>

About those Guccis. You’ve heard of ham? Well, this is a family-size salumi platter. Adam Driver is relatively restrained as Maurizio, who as a law student meets Patrizia Reggiani at a party, where she charmingly mistakes him for a bartender. She comes from a less exalted family — her father owns a small trucking company — and she is played by Lady Gaga with the verve of an Anna Magnani avatar in a Super Mario video game.</p>

This is fun for a while — the movie is more than 2 1/2 hours long — and Gaga and Driver have an interesting chemistry. Maurizio is quiet and a little passive, but Patrizia nudges him toward a bolder idea of himself. He defies his aristocratic father, Rodolfo (an impeccable, sepulchral Jeremy Irons), who regards Patrizia as a social climber and a gold digger. He isn’t altogether wrong, but Maurizio marries her anyway, and finds brief happiness working for his in-laws, trading in his cut-to-measure suits for proletarian coveralls. He plays soccer and horses around with the other drivers and mechanics during lunch break until Patrizia summons him to the office to attend to his conjugal duties. It’s pretty hot stuff.</p>

But as the mood shifts from sex comedy toward loftier, more somber matters — money, loyalty, family honor — “House of Gucci” manages to become both overwrought and tedious. The older Gucci generation is divided between Rodolfo and his brother Aldo (Al Pacino), who runs the New York side of the business. Casting Pacino and Irons as siblings is a witty move: At this stage in their careers, both are highly mannered, sometimes almost self-parodic performers who exist at opposite ends of the thermal spectrum. If Irons were any chillier, he would crystallize. If Pacino ran any hotter, he’d burst into flame.</p>

To complicate the kinship network, and to prevent a potentially dangerous outbreak of understatement, Aldo has a son, Paolo, who fancies himself a fashion genius and who is played by Jared Leto. You’ve heard of ham? Leto goes full mortadella, bulked up and stuffed into a pink corduroy suit, billowing tobacco smoke and throwing himself into paroxysms of agita. His most memorable line is “Boof-ah!”</p>

There is potential here for camp, for glamour, for something louche and nasty and over-the-top. Did I mention that Salma Hayek plays a fortuneteller who becomes Patrizia’s sidekick and adviser? But all the emoting is crammed into a curiously literal, procedural frame, as if someone had tried to make an opera libretto out of court transcripts.</p>

Patrizia urges Maurizio to cultivate alliances with his uncle and cousin, and then schemes to push them out, but rather than being interestingly contradictory her motives just seem incoherent. As Maurizio’s marital ardor begins to cool and he forsakes her for a glacial blonde (Camille Cottin), Patrizia’s focus shifts from commerce to revenge.</p>

It turns out that this isn’t really tragedy or farce, grand opera or opera buffa: it’s corporate promotion.</p>

<p>Lady Gaga has revealed she had some animal inspiration for her murderous turn as a jilted ex-wife in the new movie "House of Gucci".&nbsp;</p>

<p>Her performance as Patrizia Reggiani, who had fashion heir Maurizio Gucci (played by Adam Driver) assassinated in the 1990s, is already picking up Oscar buzz.&nbsp;</p>

<p>And in a press conference ahead of the film's release later this month, the singer-turned-actress revealed she turned to the animal kingdom for help in portraying each stage of Reggiani's life.</p>

<p>"Earlier in her life, I was a cat, like a house cat," Lady Gaga told reporters.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"In the middle of the film... I was a fox. And so I studied the way foxes hunt, and they're actually quite playful when they hunt.</p>

<p>"And then I studied panthers for the end. I watched lots of videos about the way that panthers hunt. And they're sort of seductive... they sort of seduce and then they pounce."</p>

<p>Early reviews have gushed about Lady Gaga's performance, with many expecting another Oscar nomination to match her screen debut in "A Star is Born".&nbsp;</p>

<p>Also getting a lot of attention is Jared Leto, who endured six hours of make-up every day to tranform into balding pudgy playboy Paolo Gucci.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I really used (those six hours) as an opportunity to work on the inner life of the character," Leto said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"It was a great time to focus, and to meditate on the character."</p>

<p>The film is directed by British director Ridley Scott, who has created some of the most iconic movies of the past 40 years, including "Blade Runner", "Alien", "Gladiator" and "Thelma and Louise".&nbsp;</p>

<p>But it was actually Scott's wife who pushed for many years for the film to be made, according to Salma Hayek, who plays Reggiani's mother.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I just happen to be really good friends with Giannina Scott, and so I saw her fight for this for 20 years," Hayek said at the press conference.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"She wanted to do the story of a woman that everybody sees only as a gold digger... but actually she really loved this man."</p>

<p>- 'Too hurt' -</p>

<p>Lady Gaga agreed that there was more to the story than simple greed.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"She not only loved Maurizio, but she loved what he meant and the way that he empowered her within the family business," she said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"And when that was taken from her... she reacted in a way that most women don't -- most women don't have their husbands murdered.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"And yet I do believe in that system, with this sort of systemic oppression, that this happened because she was simply too hurt."</p>

<p>It is the second film to hit theatres for Scott since the summer, following "The Last Duel", also starring Driver alongside Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Well-received by critics, that film was something of a flop with audiences.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Initial reactions to "House of Gucci" have also been mixed.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While everyone seemed mesmerised by Lady Gaga, some critics agreed with Observer magazine's Brandon Katz that the film was "an overwrought slog".</p>

<p>But many others were swept away, with Variety's Jazz Tangcay tweeting that it was "murderously delicious" and Entertainment Weekly writer Joey Nolfi describing it as "juicy caviar camp".&nbsp;</p>

<p>Grammy award-winning rapper Lil Nas X took&nbsp;inspiration from Lady Gaga as he turned heads with multiple outfit changes on the red carpet at the 2021 Met Gala.</p>

<p>The fashion-forward star showed off three stunning looks on the red carpet- each distinct from the other.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The 22-year-old hitmaker arrived at New York`s Metropolitan Museum of Art in a Versace ensemble, rocking a giant, embroidered cloak, which led to a series of costume changes.</p>

<p>His three looks were designed by Versace. He started off with a regal robe that was covered in intricate gold beading. It had a long and flowing train.</p>

Lady Gaga's new album 'Chromatica Remix' is full of starry appearances

<p>Almost after six months after Ryan Fischer was shot while taking care of Lady Gaga's entertainer's pets, he has launched a GoFundMe campaign with the aim of raising enough money to purchase a van so he can continue traveling the country in search of healing methods 'that support the process of growing from trauma'.</p>

Now an entertainment portal has reported that Gaga has covered Fischer's medical bills related to the shooting, which was a sum of $100,000 (approx).</p>

<p><br />
"All that time spent reclaiming my body, I now needed to be equally devoted to strengthening my emotional and mental health. With no vehicle, apartment, and having run out of savings and surviving on donations from generous loved ones, I am humbly asking for your help. This is not an easy thing to ask, but I have started to realize sharing your vulnerability with others is exactly when radical change begins to occur for everyone involved," he wrote on his funding page, which has reportedly generated roughly $3,600 of a $40,000 goal so far.</p>

<p><br />
According to Fischer, he has left his Hollywood Hills home to drive across the United States in a 1991 Ford Falcon as he dealt with 'long bouts of depression and doubt and self-pity' and visited friends, family, and new places that added towards his growth journey.&nbsp;</p>

<p><br />
The car, however, is no longer in working condition after two months of use, and his money-raising attempts are dedicated to securing a new vehicle so that he can continue with the rest of his journey.</p>

<p><br />
For the unversed, in February, Fischer was shot in the chest while he walked three of Gaga's French bulldogs on North Sierra Bonita Avenue in Los Angeles.&nbsp;</p>

<p><br />
A pair of assailants jumped out of a vehicle and assaulted Fischer before making off with two of Gaga's pets, Koji and Gustav, while another, Asia, was able to escape.&nbsp;</p>

<p><br />
Five suspects were later arrested in connection with the incident after a woman returned the dogs safely.</p>

<p><br />
According to the report by a news agency, those arrested were unaware of the fact that the dogs belonged to Gaga, and that they targeted the animals only for their high value.</p>

<p><br />
After the attack, Gaga offered a $500,000 reward for the safe return of her dogs, and released a statement praising Fischer's heroism. "I continue to love you Ryan Fischer, you risked your life to fight for our family. You're forever a hero."</p>

<p><br />
Subsequently, Fischer's recovery has been both physical and emotional, according to an Instagram post.&nbsp;</p>

<p><br />
He revealed that in addition to having a portion of his lung removed, he's often confronted by people who force him to recall the trauma, saying things like, "You're Ryan! You got shot. You were shot! Where were you shot? Where'd they shoot you?"</p>

<p><br />
"It's a strange thing to be known for a trauma that I'm still healing from. People want to reach out, share in my pain for a moment, and then walk away, leaving me to relive it again," Fischer recalled.&nbsp;</p>

Almost after six months after Ryan Fischer was shot while taking care of Lady Gaga's entertainer's pets, he has launched a GoFundMe campaign with the aim of raising enough money to purchase a van so he can continue traveling the country in search of healing methods 'that support the process of growing from trauma'. Now an entertainment portal has reported that Gaga has covered Fischer's medical bills related to the shooting, which was a sum of $100,000 (approx). "All that time spent reclaiming my body, I now needed to be equally devoted to strengthening my emotional and mental health. With no vehicle, apartment, and having run out of savings and surviving on donations from generous loved ones, I am humbly asking for your help. This is not an easy thing to ask, but I have started to realize sharing your vulnerability with others is exactly when radical change begins to occur for everyone involved," he wrote on his funding page, which has reportedly generated roughly $3,600 of a $40,000 goal so far. According to Fischer, he has left his Hollywood Hills home to drive across the United States in a 1991 Ford Falcon as he dealt with 'long bouts of depression and doubt and self-pity' and visited friends, family, and new places that added towards his growth journey. The car, however, is no longer in working condition after two months of use, and his money-raising attempts are dedicated to securing a new vehicle so that he can continue with the rest of his journey. For the unversed, in February, Fischer was shot in the chest while he walked three of Gaga's French bulldogs on North Sierra Bonita Avenue in Los Angeles. A pair of assailants jumped out of a vehicle and assaulted Fischer before making off with two of Gaga's pets, Koji and Gustav, while another, Asia, was able to escape. Five suspects were later arrested in connection with the incident after a woman returned the dogs safely. According to the report by a news agency, those arrested were unaware of the fact that the dogs belonged to Gaga, and that they targeted the animals only for their high value. After the attack, Gaga offered a $500,000 reward for the safe return of her dogs, and released a statement praising Fischer's heroism. "I continue to love you Ryan Fischer, you risked your life to fight for our family. You're forever a hero." Subsequently, Fischer's recovery has been both physical and emotional, according to an Instagram post. He revealed that in addition to having a portion of his lung removed, he's often confronted by people who force him to recall the trauma, saying things like, "You're Ryan! You got shot. You were shot! Where were you shot? Where'd they shoot you?" "It's a strange thing to be known for a trauma that I'm still healing from. People want to reach out, share in my pain for a moment, and then walk away, leaving me to relive it again," Fischer recalled. Lady Gaga’s tangerine star-fish bikini scores high on fashion-o-meter

<p>American musicians Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga will be joining forces for a pair of shows at Radio City Music Hall in August that are being billed as their final appearances together.<br />
<br />
According to Variety, the `One Last Time: an Evening With Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga` shows will take place on August 3 and 5, with a special credit-card pre-sale beginning Wednesday and a general ticket release on Thursday.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
All ticketholders will be required to show proof of vaccination. The first of the two nights is Bennett`s 95th birthday. The reason for advertising these as the final shows the two will do together may have less to do with his advanced age, than the fact that Bennett was diagnosed with dementia five years ago, a condition that was discovered in 2016, but not revealed to the public until early 2021.<br />
<br />
In the intervening years, his condition progressed slowly enough that he was able to continue to tour and record. Gaga and Bennett recently made a second album together, a successor to 2014`s chart-topping, Grammy-winning `Cheek to Cheek`, that will be released later this year.<br />
<br />
The initial block of tickets is being released for Citi cardmembers and will go on sale at Livenation.com at 10 a.m. Wednesday in local time zones, with the general lot set for the same time the following day.<br />
<br />
No phones will be allowed inside the venue, and attendants will collect attendees` smart devices and put them in Yondr pouches that can only be opened in lobby unlocking stations. The duo previously performed two shows at Radio City Music Hall in 2015.<br />
<br />
"We couldn`t be prouder to host such a special engagement with two of the most iconic entertainers of our time," said Darren Pfeffer, executive VP of live at Madison Square Garden Entertainment.<br />
<br />
He further added, "Both Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga are synonymous with New York City, making the great stage at Radio City Music Hall the perfect place to honor their decade-long friendship and celebrate Mr. Bennett`s 95th birthday."<br />
<br />
Representatives say that Tony Bennett Quartet and the Brian Newman Quintet will be joined by a big band and orchestra, conducted by Michael Bearden. The two last performed together when Bennett was a surprise guest for several numbers at the opening night of Gaga`s `Jazz` residency in Las Vegas in January 2019.&nbsp;</p>

American musicians Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga will be joining forces for a pair of shows at Radio City Music Hall in August that are being billed as their final appearances together. According to Variety, the `One Last Time: an Evening With Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga` shows will take place on August 3 and 5, with a special credit-card pre-sale beginning Wednesday and a general ticket release on Thursday. All ticketholders will be required to show proof of vaccination. The first of the two nights is Bennett`s 95th birthday. The reason for advertising these as the final shows the two will do together may have less to do with his advanced age, than the fact that Bennett was diagnosed with dementia five years ago, a condition that was discovered in 2016, but not revealed to the public until early 2021. In the intervening years, his condition progressed slowly enough that he was able to continue to tour and record. Gaga and Bennett recently made a second album together, a successor to 2014`s chart-topping, Grammy-winning `Cheek to Cheek`, that will be released later this year. The initial block of tickets is being released for Citi cardmembers and will go on sale at Livenation.com at 10 a.m. Wednesday in local time zones, with the general lot set for the same time the following day. No phones will be allowed inside the venue, and attendants will collect attendees` smart devices and put them in Yondr pouches that can only be opened in lobby unlocking stations. The duo previously performed two shows at Radio City Music Hall in 2015.
