<p>We've all been there. You&nbsp;have a song you can't get out of your head, maybe you hate it, but you still find yourself humming its tune. Why does this happen? Turns out there's science behind this. A new study has revealed the science behind earworms and has even come up with a way you can kick them out of your head.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Guardian reports that the research by Professor Emery Schubert of the University of New South Wales Arts and Media School found that earworms creep into our brains while we're relaxed, or rather when our brains are in a "low-attentional state."</p>

<p>Shubert describes this as the state which is "sometimes referred to as mind wandering."</p>

<p>"In other words, if you’re deeply engaged with the environment you are in, really concentrating on a task, then you won’t get an earworm," he explains.</p>

<p>The study which has been published in the journal Music &amp; Science found that these "involuntary musical imagery" are often choruses of songs and that certain songs are more successful as earworms. This is because they have catchy, repetitive tunes that our brains are familiar with.</p>

<p>Schubert says that most research on earworms to date has analysed the song's hook — a short riff or passage that works to catch a listener's attention. He, however, said the research fails to take into consideration the "repetition of the music structure".</p>

<p>To reiterate this point, the research makes reference to an earlier study that revealed that Lady Gaga's <em>Bad Romance</em>&nbsp;is one of the most persistent earworms.</p>

<p>"The implication is that earworms might not have anything to do with the musical features at all. It largely doesn’t matter what the music is, as long as repetition is part of the music structure."</p>

<p>But as it turns out, earworms are not all that useless. Schubert, the researcher behind this study, said that earworms could actually help solve questions about human consciousness and even provide insight into how our minds organise and recall material.</p>

The clip shows the actress planting a kiss on a female bystander who is&nbsp;holding a newspaper with a "Crazy in Love"&nbsp;headline featuring pictures of her character Dr&nbsp;Harleen Frances Quinzel aka Harley Quinn&nbsp;and the Joker.</p>

<p>The Oscar winner, who is all set to play an ardent admirer of the Batman villain, was seen flaunting her blonde hair, which was pulled back into a half ponytail with her dark roots clearly showing. And, she was styled to appear as if she wasn't wearing any makeup.&nbsp;</p>

On Valentine's Day, filmmaker Tod Phillips shared a new still from his upcoming film <em>Joker: Folie a Deux</em>- a sequel to the critically acclaimed <em>Joker</em>. The still unveils the first look of Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn, Joker's love interest in the comic book. The still not just features Gaga, but also gives a glimpse of Joaquin Phoenix who reprises his role as the Joker in the sequel of the 2019 film.&nbsp;<br />

Sharing the photo on Instagram, he wrote in his caption, 'Happy Valentines Day.' The same image was also shared by Lady Gaga on her social media page. Harley Quinn was earlier famously played by Margot Robbie in Birds of Prey and Suicide Squad.&nbsp;<br />

Phillips's version of Quinn is expected to be darker much like his depiction of Joker in the 2019 film. Not many details of the sequel have been revealed yet but the filmmaker had also shared an image of Phoenix earlier.&nbsp;<br />

In the new still, Gaga can be seen clasping Phoenix's face as he smiles at her. Both seem to have blood stains on their face.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A man who shot Lady Gaga's dogwalker during an attempt to steal the singer's prize French bulldogs was sentenced to 21 years in prison Monday after pleading no contest to attempted murder.&nbsp;</p>

<p>James Howard Jackson and two other men attacked Ryan Fischer on a Hollywood street in February 2021, and after a struggle made off with two of the "Poker Face" singer's three pets that were out for a walk.</p>

<p>Fischer sustained chest injuries in the attack and said on Instagram a month later he had suffered a collapsed lung.</p>

<p>Jackson, 20, entered the no-contest plea after prosecutors agreed to drop further robbery, assault and other charges.</p>

<p>"The plea agreement holds Mr Jackson accountable for perpetrating a cold-hearted violent act and provides justice for our victim," said a statement from the District Attorney's Office.</p>

<p>The two other assailants have already been jailed for their parts in the crime.</p>

<p>Following the incident, Lady Gaga offered a $500,000 reward for the return of dogs Koji and Gustav. A woman who handed in the dogs in response to the reward has been charged with being an accessory after the fact and with receiving stolen goods.</p>

<p>The singer's other bulldog, Miss Asia, was able to evade capture, and ran back to the wounded Fischer's side after the robbers left.</p>

<p>Jackson earlier this year was recaptured after being accidentally released from custody in what officials described as a "clerical error."</p>

<p>Los Angeles police said at the time they did not believe the dogs were targeted because of their owner, but because of the breed's appeal on the black market.</p>

<p>Small and friendly -- and thus easy to grab -- French bulldogs do not have large litters.</p>

<p>Their relative scarcity, and their association with stars such as Lady Gaga, Reese Witherspoon, Hugh Jackman, Chrissy Teigen, Leonardo DiCaprio and Madonna, gives them added cachet and means they can change hands for thousands of dollars.</p>

Now I get to.’ It’s such an honour to have built a foundation strong enough that Harley can now be one of those characters that other actors get to have a go at playing. And I think she’ll do something incredible with it.”</p>

<p>Lady Gaga has issued a tearful apology to all her fans after she was forced to cut short her Miami concert due to bad weather and thunderstorm.&nbsp;<br />

The 'Miami' stop was the final concert of her Chromatica Ball world tour, which began on July 17.&nbsp;<br />

Acknowledging her fans later via an&nbsp;emotional video message, Gaga broke down as she apologised to the concertgoers and&nbsp;explained the reason behind the abrupt ending.<br />

In a video message posted on her Instagram handle, the 'Rain on me' singer said, “We really tried to finish the show tonight in Miami, but we couldn’t, because even when the rains sort of stopped there was lightning that was striking right down to the ground so close to us.'' via NYP.&nbsp;<br />

Taking further, Gaga added that&nbsp;she always wanted to be 'hardcore bad b–ch' but her fan's safety will always be her first priority and it was a ''healthy decision'' to take at that moment.&nbsp;<br />

Gaga said, “I know that for a really long time I’ve always wanted to be that hardcore bad b–ch, but what I really want is to also be responsible and loving, and I don’t know what I would do if anything happened to anybody in the audience, or to any member of my crew or my band or my dancers.”</p>

According to EW, Gaga had initially announced the Chromatica Ball tour to coincide with the album`s original rollout in 2020, however, the coronavirus pandemic forced the global tour`s postponement twice, once to the summer of 2021, and again to 2022.</p>
