I think, sadly, you know, our media should be actually writing about this. You know, our media should be talking about the fact that you know, but our media is so dependent sometimes not all the time on getting interviews with players, so they do not want to upset anybody."</p>

<p>He added, "So they will not question the batting ability of some of the overseas guys because of that. But that's the way."</p>

<p>Talking about Day Two of the Cape Town Test, India have already accounted for four wickets in the opening session but SA are now on the lead, beyond 60, with Aiden Markram being the lone warrior for his side (being unbeaten on 102 at the time of publishing this report).</p>

<h2><strong>India make poor start</strong></h2>

<p>The hosts had an excellent first two sessions of Day 1 as they established complete dominance after Rabada’s masterclass with the ball. India were 24/3 in the first session after skipper Rohit Sharma (5), Yashasvi Jaiswal (17) and Shubman Gill (2) fell in quick succession. Nandre Burger was the architect-in-chief of India’s downfall as he got the better of Gill and Jaiswal.</p>

<p>The visitors then built a partnership of 68 runs as Shreyas Iyer (31) and Virat Kohli (38) helped India get back in the contest. However, in the second session, Rabada again showed his class to get the better of Iyer putting India on the back foot on 92/4.</p>

<p>Ravichandran Ashwin (8) and Shardul Thakur (24) then followed soon as India lost their way against the exceptional South African star Rabada.</p>

<p>At stumps, India were 208/8 as the umpired decided to call it a day with no more play expected to take place at the SuperSport Park in Centurion on Boxing Day. KL Rahul is India’s best hopes to get to a respectable total as he is still unbeaten on 70 while Mohammed Siraj is yet to get off the mark.</p>

<p>For the hosts, Rabada has figures of 44/5 in his 17 overs while Nandre Burger (50/2) and Marco Jansen (52/1) were also amongst the wicket-takers. The hosts though could have a tough second day with the bat as having lost skipper Temba Bavuma through injury during the first session. Proteas captain Temba Bavuma to miss white-ball series against India, says Cricket South Africa

<p>South Africa had a brilliant start to their ODI World Cup 2023 campaign, having won their first two matches in the tournament. Their second win came against Australia in Lucknow on October 12 as they beat the Aussies by 134 runs. Protea bowler Kagiso Rabada was the wreaker-in-chief, taking 3/33 in his eight overs.</p>

<p>Among the three dismissals by Rabada, the ball he bowled to Josh Inglis was the best one as the batter was left dumbfounded on an unplayable delivery that rattled his&nbsp;stumps. Australia were three down already when Rabada came on to bowl the 12th over of the Kangaroo chase and delivered a peach first up to leave Inglis flummoxed. The batter tried to defend the ball with a straight bat but the ball whizzed past and hit the stumps. Have a look at the video below:</p>

<p>Former South Africa pacer Dale Steyn has picked up five fast bowlers across teams whom he expects to perform well in the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup. The quadrennial event starting four days later on October 5 is being held in India and the pitches are expected to help spinners more.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Steyn, nonetheless, believes that Shaheen Afridi from Pakistan, Kagiso Rabada from South Africa, Mohammed Siraj from India, Mark Wood from England and Trent Boult from New Zealand will be able to leave a mark in the tournament. Defending champions England, India, five-time winners Australia and Pakistan are considered as the pre-tournament favourites but the likes of South Africa, New Zealand and Sri Lanka are also in form and can be deemed as the darkhorses of the mega event.</p>

<p>Talking about the Proteas, they have made the last four in alternate editions of the World Cup since their readmission in 1992. After missing out on a semi-final berth in the last edition in 2019, in England and Wales, the No. 4 ranked Temba Bavuma-led side are one of the serious contenders to make it to the last four, even if many won't consider them as outright favourites. However, premier pacer Kagiso Rabada feels his national side 'believes' it can win the coveted title as well.</p>

<p>"One thing we have never lacked as South Africans is belief, so going into the tournament we do believe we can win it," Rabada was quoted as saying by ICC.</p>

We believe we can win ODI World Cup 2023, reckons South Africa speedster Kagiso Rabada

<p>World number one&nbsp;tennis&nbsp;player Novak Djokovic is a six-time winner of the Rome Masters but on Wednesday he swapped his racket for a set of golf clubs to appear in the All Star Match in the build-up to the 44th Ryder Cup.</p>

<p>The Serbian, who claimed a record-equalling 24th Grand Slam title by winning the U.S. Open this month, was playing alongside world number one golfer with disabilities Kipp Popert as part of Colin Montgomerie's team which also featured Gareth Bale.</p>

<p>"It's such an honour, a golden opportunity for a once in a lifetime experience," the nervous-looking 36-year-old said on the first tee surrounded by an enormous grandstand. "Thanks to all the fans for coming and putting a bit of extra pressure on us on the first tee. It's a unique experience."</p>

<p>With hundreds of fans in the stands and many more lining the fairway, Djokovic initially walked out to address his ball with a&nbsp;tennis&nbsp;racket, before switching to a driver. After a couple of practice swings were greeted with cries of "oles", he sent his ball down the first fairway, puffing out his cheeks with relief and thumping his heart.</p>

<p>Djokovic and England's Popert were up against Spain's F1 driver Carlos Sainz who recently won the Singapore Grand Prix and Italian G4D golfer Tommaso Perrino.</p>

<p>South Africa in a 50-over Cricket World Cup has been a different story altogether. Having reached the semis four times earlier, South Africa is yet to play and win a final.</p>

<p>However, with the latest edition of CWC, to be held in India, just around the corner, Proteas pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada, in an exclusive chat with WION's Sports Editor Digvijay Singh Deo, spoke in detail about his side's chances of breaking the ice at the mega event, Quinton de Kock's shocking retirement call and his favourites, outside of South Africa, to win the title in India.</p>

<p>Leading the star-studded bowling attack alongside Anrich Nortje, Rabada feels pace will be Proteas' go-to-weapon in India in the World Cup.</p>

<p>Expressing his excitement in the lead-up to the World Cup, Rabada said,&nbsp;"Anticipation is building up. The World Cup is a huge event. It’s going to be a huge competition in a cricket-mad country like India."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Realising South Africa entering the ten-team tournament as non-favourites, Rabada said it could work in their favour as the team would march forward with less pressure and expectations on their shoulders, meaning they could play with more freedom and express themselves.</p>

<p>"Entering the World Cup as non-favourites can perhaps help us. People are not backing us to win, but that could work to our benefit. All we are looking forward to doing is playing good cricket," Rabada told WION.</p>

<p>"We can win this World Cup because we have the players, the experience in our squad. This squad is a good mixture of players. It is a much more experienced team, full of match-winners too."</p>

<p>"It’s about clicking as a unit, as a team. We need performances to come at the right when we need it. If we play cricket the way we set out to play, then I think we have a very good chance," the right-arm seamer added.</p>

Praising the keeper-batter, his long-time teammate said,&nbsp;"He (de Kock) has done incredibly well for South Africa, and it (his retirement) is a huge blow. He’s a great player. <p>When asked about what would be key to South Africa's success at the World Cup, Rabada said express pace will be their weapon.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Pace is definitely our strength and something we would utilise to our advantage in the World Cup," Rabada opined.</p>

<p>Although he backs South Africa to break the deadlock this time in India when asked to pick his favourites outside of his team, the seasoned campaigner handpicked defending champions England, hosts India and former five-time winners Australia as strong contenders.</p>

<p>"Defending champion England, India and even Australia are strong contenders. I guess having looked at England, and what they have done over the years, they are a strong side," Rabada concluded.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, South Africa will open their CWC 2023 campaign against Sri Lanka in Delhi on October 7.</p>

<p>However, Punjab pacer Kagiso Rabada had something to cheer for as he became the fastest bowler to enter the 100-wicket club in IPL history. He surpassed IPL legend and former Mumbai Indians (MI) speedster Lasith Malinga in the list. The premier South African pacer reached the milestone in just 64 innings, leaving behind Malinga who attained the feat&nbsp;in 70 innings.</p>

Bowlers lead charge after Bavuma ton as South Africa drub West Indies to take Test series 2-0

<p>Top South African players like Kagiso Rabada, David Miller among others will join the IPL 2023 scheduled to start on March 31st, four days later on April 3rd as they will be playing the two-match home ODIs against the Netherlands, Cricket South Africa has&nbsp;informed BCCI.</p>

<p>As South Africa hasn’t qualified for the upcoming 2023 World Cup yet, for them to punch their direct ticket they need to win the Netherlands ODIs – and for the same reason, star Proteas players will be occupied there. Both matches are scheduled for March 31st and April 2nd in Benoni and Johannesburg, respectively.</p>

<p>Last year, a day before the IPL auction on December 23rd, the BCCI informed all the franchises that the contracted South African players will be available from March 29th – two days before the start of IPL 2023. However, with this decision being taken at the last minute given South Africa’s direct qualification scenario for the 50-over World Cup, CSA’s Pholetsi Moseki has informed ESPNcricinfo that they have written to the BCCI explaining why they’d be needing their top players participating the Netherlands ODIs.</p>

<p>"The BCCI understands the importance of the Netherlands series to us automatically qualifying for the 2023 World Cup," Moseki said.</p>

<p>While six of the ten franchises will be affected by this call, SunRisers Hyderabad, which appointed Aiden Markram as their new captain, will now have to find a new leader for their opener against Rajasthan Royals on April 2nd. They would also be without Heinrich Klaasen and Marco Jansen.</p>

<p>On the other hand, teams like Mumbai Indians (Tristan Stubbs and Dewald Brevis), Delhi Capitals (Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi), Gujarat Titans (David Miller), Lucknow Super Giants (Quinton de Kock) and Punjab Kings (Kagiso Rabada) will also be without the mentioned South African players at least for their first match.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the top eight teams in the ODI Super League will automatically qualify for the 2023 World Cup, whereas, the bottom five will have to participate in the World Cup Qualifiers alongside five Associate teams for the remaining spots. With South Africa currently placed at number 9, they will be fighting for the direct qualification spot alongside Windies, Sri Lanka, and Ireland.</p>

<p>South African bowler Kagiso Rabada took a stunning catch to dismiss Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya in the 30th Match of the T20 World Cup during a key contest on Sunday (October 30).&nbsp;</p>

<p>With an eye on the semi-final spot, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat at Perth Stadium on Sunday in a battle of unbeaten sides bidding for a semi-final spot at the Twenty20 World Cup.&nbsp;</p>

<p>But the Indian batting order tumbled, with Hardik Pandya going back to the pavilion at 49-5 (8.3).&nbsp;</p>

<p>To take Pandya's wicket, pacer Lungi Ngidi bowled short as Pandya hit it across on the pull. The ball would have touched the ground but Rabada launched himself forward and came charging in to grab the stunner.&nbsp;</p>

Cricket South Africa (CSA) is yet to name the T20 tournament which is set to get underway next year and will have six teams, all owned by the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises.</p>

<p>While CSK owners have bought the Johannesburg franchise in CSA's new T20 league, Mumbai Indians (MI) have bagged the Cape Town team. The owners of Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants have bought the Pretoria, Port Elizabeth, Paarl and Durban franchises respectively.</p>

<p>All six franchises have already made some key signings as Wednesday (August 10) was the last day for the direct acquisition of players. Cricket South Africa had asked all six teams to submit a list of a maximum of five players they have signed with a minimum of one South African part of the list.</p>

<p>The CSA rules also state that a franchise can only have three foreigners as part of their final five with not more than two players from one country, and at least one uncapped player on the list. As per a report in <em>Cricbuzz</em>, all six teams have retained some of the players from their existing teams in the IPL.</p>

<p>Pacer Kagiso Rabada snared four wickets as Punjab Kings restricted formidable Gujarat Titans to a below-par 143 for eight after Hardik Pandya opted to bat first.Punjab, who made a mess of what should have been a straightforward chase in their last game, learned from their mistakes to pace the innings much better and overcome the target in 16 overs.</p>

<p>Dhawan (62 not out off 53 balls) scored his third half-century of the season and got good support from Sri Lankan Bhanuka Rajapaksa (40 off 28), who entertained with five fours and a six.
