With just over two months to go for the World Cup, the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday shared a picture of Shah Rukh Khan, along with the much-coveted trophy. The official Twitter handle of ICC has now shared a video, as part of their "It Takes One Day" campaign, in the run-up to the 2023 World Cup. The footage encapsulates some of the most remarkable moments in the illustrious history of the World Cup.

In a bid to make the campaign more gripping, the ICC decided to cast Shah Rukh, along with the current World Cup-winning skipper Eoin Morgan, in the video. Apart from former England captain Morgan, other stalwarts like Muttiah Muralitharan, Jonty Rhodes are also seen in the clip. “History will be written and dreams will be realised at the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023. All it takes is just one day,” read the tweet shared by ICC.

'History will be written ...': ICC shares World Cup video featuring Shah Rukh Khan

ICC World Cup 2023: The International Cricket Council announced the fixtures for the 2023 Cricket World Cup on Tuesday, June 27. One of the biggest tournaments in the world of cricket will begin on October 5 and will culminate on November 19. The opener and the final match&nbsp;of this tournament will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.&nbsp;

The other nine venues are Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune. Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram will join Hyderabad in hosting the practice games.

Defending champions England will take on New Zealand in a much-awaited clash between the 2019 World Cup finalists that opens the tournament in Ahmedabad, while hosts India will face off against five-time winners Australia in Chennai on October 8.

A total of eight teams have qualified for the 46-day event through the Cricket World Cup Super League while the final two spots will be taken by the finalists of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier taking place in Zimbabwe.&nbsp;

Total number of teams: 10

The tournament retains the round-robin format of last time with all teams playing against each other in a total of 45 league matches. There are six days of matches which will start at 10:30 am IST while all other matches, including the knockouts, will be day-night fixtures starting at 2:00 pm IST.&nbsp;

On Tuesday (June 27), the International Cricket Council (ICC) finally released the much-awaited full schedule of the forthcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023 edition&nbsp;to be held in India in October-November. The fixtures were announced following months of speculations. Defending champions England are set to face New Zealand in the tournament opener in Ahmedabad on October 5, whereas India will kick off their campaign versus Australia on October 8 in Ahmedabad. The hosts will lock horns with Pakistan in Ahmedabad on October 15.

Ahmedabad, Dharamshala, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Lucknow, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Pune are the venues for the ten-team tournament. It is to be noted that if Pakistan reaches the semi-finals, they will play in Kolkata. Meanwhile, India will play their semi-final, if they reach that far, in Mumbai unless they lock horns with arch-rivals Pakistan. In that case, they will meet at the iconic Eden Gardens, Kolkata. India's venues are Ahmedabad (versus Pakistan), Chennai (against Australia), Delhi (against Afghanistan), Lucknow (versus England), Dharamshala (versus New Zealand), Kolkata (against South Africa), Pune (against Bangladesh), Bengaluru (versus Q1) and Mumbai (versus Q2).&nbsp;

The 2019 format will be followed for the upcoming edition of the 50-over World Cup. Every side will lock horns with the other nine teams once in the round-robin stage and the top four sides will proceed to the semi-finals (with the top-ranked side facing the fourth-positioned team and the second-ranked team facing the third-positioned side). The final will take place at the iconic Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, Ahmedabad on November 19.&nbsp;

The fixtures were announced following months of speculations. Defending champions England are set to face New Zealand in the tournament opener in Ahmedabad on October 5, whereas India will kick off their campaign versus Australia on October 8 in Ahmedabad. The hosts will lock horns with Pakistan in Ahmedabad on October 15. Ahmedabad, Dharamshala, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Lucknow, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Pune are the venues for the ten-team tournament. It is to be noted that if Pakistan reaches the semi-finals, they will play in Kolkata. In a pre-match presser, Dravid told in Chennai, "Probably not going to get too many more games in our conditions. We had the opportunity to play in these conditions which is great. Why the delay from BCCI?

The BCCI has not specified venues for any games as of now, nor the two or three cities where the&nbsp;warm-up encounters will take place. It is learned that the delay in finalising the venues has been due to the threat posed by the monsoon season receding at different points across the nation.&nbsp;

The International Cricket Council (ICC) usually&nbsp;shares the World Cup schedules, at least, a year in the run-up to the event. However, much to the surprise of cricket fans worldwide, it hasn't been the case this time around. The wait has been prolonged as the Indian cricket board is&nbsp;yet to&nbsp;get the necessary clearance from the&nbsp;government.

The BCCI needs to get a tax exemption for hosting the mega&nbsp;tournament, and also acquire visa clearance for Team Pakistan. The Asian giants have not played a bilateral series in India since early 2013 and their last visit to their neighbouring country was during the 2016 T20 World Cup in India.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) usually shares the World Cup schedules, at least, a year in the run-up to the event. However, much to the surprise of cricket fans worldwide, it hasn't been the case this time around. The wait has been prolonged as the Indian cricket board is yet to get the necessary clearance from the government. The BCCI needs to get a tax exemption for hosting the mega tournament, and also acquire visa clearance for Team Pakistan. The Asian giants have not played a bilateral series in India since early 2013 and their last visit to their neighbouring country was during the 2016 T20 World Cup in India.

I know KL Rahul has been the white-ball vice-captain, but I do think Hardik Pandya has thrown his name strongly in the mix and it will be captain vice-captain role between a Hardik and a Rohit in the coming 12 months, because I think he has shown his skills in the IPL as a leader and that might be coming through soon for Team India as well."
