We finally have a release date for Drake’s eighth studio LP titled For All the Dogs. The singer announced the release date on Instagram along with the video footage of his father Dennis Graham. In the post, Drake teased that the new LP will be dropping on September 22.

Canadian rapper Drake, who is also known as Drizzy among his fans, displayed his trademark generosity during his recent tour stop in Las Vegas. The artist surprised the crowd by giving $50,000 to a dedicated fan who had spent their furniture budget on tickets to his It's All A Blur Tour.

Drake's heartwarming gesture occurred when he noticed a sign held by a fan in the audience, which read: "Drake, I spent my furniture money on your two shows, OVO for life." The rapper was visibly moved by the fan's sacrifice and decided to take action on the spot.

Addressing the audience, Drake explained the situation, saying, "He got a sign that says, 'Drake, I spent my furniture money on your two shows, OVO for life.' You know what, my man, your furniture money, Imma give you 50 bands 'cause I love you. Make sure he gets his money tonight. That's some real shit, I f**k with you."

Drake used the opportunity to impart a valuable life lesson to his fans, emphasising empathy and compassion. He remarked, "Listen, this is what life is about. I'm trying to teach you something tonight. I want you to understand something tonight. You never know what the next person is going through. You never know what the person in front of you, to the left of you, to the right of you, behind you, is going through."

Drake hires son Adnois, 5, to create cover art for his upcoming album FOR ALL THE DOGS

Singers getting attacked on stage has kind of become the new norm. Artists like Babe Rexha, Pink, and Cardi B are the recent victims who have been hit by the things thrown at them on stage. And recently, Drake was about to become the victim, but luckily he saved himself.

The recent incident happened at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California, where the Canadian rapper was performing. We all have seen the rapper's habit of catching the things thrown at him, but during his recent gig, the singer saved himself from the book, which happens to be his poetry book titled, Ruin Everything: A Stream of Consciousness.

In the video that has gone viral, the rapper is walking on the stage singing when he smartly catches the book hurled towards him in mid-air. The singer was quick to point out the concertgoer who threw it towards him. As a warning, the singer said, "You’re lucky I’m quick, or I would’ve had to beat your ass if that hit me in the face."

Drake warns a fan for throwing a book at him during his concert: I would’ve beat your a** if..

Drake had a unique request for his fans who attended the Los Angeles concert. The special request for the fans was made as Adonis Graham, Drake's five-year-old son, attended his father's concert for the first time. To make sure his Los Angeles show on Saturday stayed innocent enough for the child, the rapper playfully said on stage at the Kia Forum, “Y’all keep your bras on.”

In a video that a fan posted on social media, the recording artist born Aubrey Drake Graham told the crowd, “Look, to be honest with you, I can’t talk about titties tonight in LA because my son is at the show for the first time.”

“So we’ve got to keep this real PG tonight,” he added as the audience erupted in cheers once they heard Adonis was in the crowd. “Y’all keep your bras on. Throw them up here another night.”

Drake's request comes a day after a fan flung a bra on stage as the Jonas Brothers were performing.

It’s not the first time that Drake has talked about lingerie on stage during his It's All a Blur Tour.

On the Montreal stop of the tour, which kicked off in early July in Chicago, the Toronto artist joked that he felt like he was giving a bad show because nobody in the audience was throwing their bras on stage.

"I would just like to say before I go onto this next song, this is the first stage where I don't have no bras, and I'm deeply disappointed," Drake said in a video captured by fans. "But don't start throwing shoes and phones and s---."
“If you got a bra, though, just let me know that I still got it 'cause I feel like I might be having a bad show or something. I didn't see no bras tonight," the rapper continued.

Drake had a unique request for his fans who attended the Los Angeles concert. The special request for the fans was made as Adonis Graham, Drake's five-year-old son, attended his father's concert for the first time. To make sure his Los Angeles show on Saturday stayed innocent enough for the child, the rapper playfully said on stage at the Kia Forum, “Y’all keep your bras on.” In a video that a fan posted on social media, the recording artist born Aubrey Drake Graham told the crowd, “Look, to be honest with you, I can’t talk about titties tonight in LA because my son is at the show for the first time.” “So we’ve got to keep this real PG tonight,” he added as the audience erupted in cheers once they heard Adonis was in the crowd. “Y’all keep your bras on. Throw them up here another night.” Drake's request comes a day after a fan flung a bra on stage as the Jonas Brothers were performing. "But don't start throwing shoes and phones and s---." “If you got a bra, though, just let me know that I still got it 'cause I feel like I might be having a bad show or something. I didn't see no bras tonight," the rapper continued. Undergarments getting tossed on stage it seems is a common feature in Drake concerts. Is Shakira dating Drake? Singers exiting Hollywood party set off rumour mills

In what turns out to be a new norm, a troubling trend of performers getting pelted onstage during concerts has raised concerns in the industry with an increase in the number of such incidents.

One recent incident took place last week when rapper Cardi B was captured throwing a microphone at one of the concertgoers in a video who appeared to throw a drink at her while she was performing on stage.

The artists who have fallen victim to this recent trend are Harry Styles, Bebe Rexha, Pink, Ava Max, Taylor Swift and Drake.

Earlier this month, Harry Styles was forced to momentarily halt his performance in Vienna when someone from the crowd threw an unknown object at him that appeared to hit the singer's eye. In the video of the incident that went viral, Styles could be seen wincing onstage before holding his head in his hand, visibly in pain. He later walked off the stage.

Bebe Rexha got three stitches in the month of June when a concertgoer threw his phone at her that hit her near the eye.

During a recent show in Los Angeles, Ava Max got slapped in the face by an attendee. Another fan appeared to have thrown their mother's ashes at P!nk during a concert in London. Kelsea Ballerini also got hit in the eye by a bracelet during a recent show in the United States.

During Drake's "It's All a Blur" tour, the rapper paused his performance after a fan tossed a vape onto the stage.

A video posted on TikTok captured the moments when Drake addressed the crowd, inquiring, "Did you throw a vape over here? Come on. Who threw this? Who threw the vape?"

The man, on being questioned as to what his motive was behind hurling a phone at Bebe Rexha during her performance, remarked, "I thought it would be funny". He has been charged with assault over the incident.

Bebe Rexha had to be rushed to a hospital in June when a fan allegedly threw an iPhone at her. When she returned to the stage for a show in Philadelphia a month later, she pleaded with fans, "Just no phones at my face tonight please, I beg of you."

In what turns out to be a new norm, a troubling trend of performers getting pelted onstage during concerts has raised concerns in the industry with an increase in the number of such incidents.

During a recent show in Los Angeles, Ava Max got slapped in the face by an attendee. Another fan appeared to have thrown their mother's ashes at P!nk during a concert in London. Kelsea Ballerini also got hit in the eye by a bracelet during a recent show in the United States. Drake gives shout-out to Meek Mill during his concert after eight-year feud

Canadian rapper Drake revealed Friday that he is the buyer of a crown-shaped ring that belonged to slain hip-hop legend Tupac Shakur, which sold at auction this week for a record $1 million.

Drake shared an Instagram story that showed him wearing the bauble, which sold Tuesday at Sotheby's for a total of $1.016 million, including commission and fees.

That was well above the pre-sale estimate of between $200,000 and $300,000, making it the most valuable hip-hop artefact ever sold, the auction house said.

Drake -- the best-selling artist behind hits such as "Hotline Bling" and "Nice For What" -- has spent lavishly in the past, including buying a Boeing 767 for personal use and paying $104 million for a Los Angeles home once owned by singer Robbie Williams.

The New York-born Shakur wore the ring during his final public appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 4, 1996.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time with 75 million records sold, he was shot dead by an unidentified assailant in Las Vegas just days later. He was 25.

Shakur, whose hits included "California Love," designed the ring over the course of a few months, Sotheby's said.

He did so through his godmother Yaasmyn Fula, who put the ring up for sale.

Sting raises concerns over AI-generated music: 'It's like watching a movie with CGI'

The music industry has of late been buzzing about "Heart on My Sleeve", a song that allegedly uses artificial intelligence to replicate the vocals of Drake and The Weeknd. The track was uploaded to TikTok and has not surprisingly generated a variety of reactions. Universal Music Group, one of the Big Three in American music industry (the other two being Warner Music Group and Sony Music), was quick to get streaming services to pull it down, although, it being internet, it will probably never actually go away. Copyright experts disagree over whether the song actually constitutes copyright infringement. Those who say it doesn't, argue: the song never existed before the AI tool did its magic so how can it violate the copyright?

Also Read: Artificial Intelligence: The future of music or its biggest threat?

It is almost certain that issues arising out of artificial intelligence will dominate our news headlines for years to come.

I am, however, here to discuss with you a related topic: corporatisation of music in America. It's not new. The music industry in the country has been heavily dominated by the big record labels three for decades so much so that they produce a staggering two-thirds of all the music that people listen to, as per a Wired report from 2021.

As the most powerful entities in the market, these labels wield immense influence over the buying and selling of music and talent. This power is often abused as these labels prioritise a select few big stars and pop hits over the vast majority of little-known but talented musicians. They funnel their chosen music into massive radio conglomerates and streaming platforms that dictate how music is consumed, and in doing so, these labels continue to amass an ever-growing share of industry revenue, leaving independent artists struggling to be heard.

They have established relationships with major radio stations, streaming platforms, and retail stores, giving them a significant advantage over independent artists and smaller record labels. They also have the financial power to invest in marketing, promotion, and tour support, which can make or break an artist's career.

AI in music, an unlikely force for good?

I believe there are some real positives with this AI situation, at least in this respect. It has the potential to democratise the music industry by giving more power and opportunities to independent artists. Since now AI is advanced enough to create new music (albeit based on existing tracks), this means that independent artists who cannot afford to work with big record companies now have access to powerful production tools that can help them create high-quality music.

It can also be used to help discover new talent. With the vast amount of music being produced and uploaded online, it can be difficult for record companies to sift through it all and find the next big thing. Algorithms can analyse data from streaming services, social media, and other online platforms to identify emerging artists and trends.

There may also be advantages for the consumer. The music listening experience will vastly improve.. For example, personalised playlists created by AI algorithms and machine learning are already being used by music streaming services like Spotify and Amazon Prime Video to help people discover new music that they might not have found otherwise. They may recommend music that is just perfect for the listener's mood, judging by signals that humans and existing technology cannot read. The sound quality of music will probably also be increased, with removal of noise, enhancing vocals, and improving the overall mix.

Disrupting the monopoly

Breaking down the barriers erected by big record companies is long overdue. The music industry is on the brink of a revolution, and it's time to embrace the power of technology and level the playing field for all musicians. Who knows, the next big thing in music could be just a few clicks away, waiting to be discovered by an AI algorithm.

Pitfalls of AI in music

There are also already, credible, arguments against letting AI make inroads in music industry. AI's existence, some argue, may even threaten the music industry as a whole. Since evolution in this technology is so new, we currently have no idea what to expect. But there's indeed a possibility that as they become more advanced, algorithms could stifle innovation and make it more difficult for truly unique and original artists to stand out from the crowd. While it can certainly aid in the music creation process, it should never replace the creativity and passion that comes from human artists.

Disrupting the monopoly Breaking down the barriers erected by big record companies is long overdue. The music industry is on the brink of a revolution, and it's time to embrace the power of technology and level the playing field for all musicians. Who knows, the next big thing in music could be just a few clicks away, waiting to be discovered by an AI algorithm. Pitfalls of AI in music There are also already, credible, arguments against letting AI make inroads in music industry. AI may be a threat but record companies are the real mafia. Will AI democratise music industry?

There is no denying it now, Artificial Intelligence is here to stay. Slowly and steadily, AI is permeating our day-to-day lives. Last week, it left several music lovers, especially fans of Drake and The Weeknd worried as their voices were used to create a song called Heart on My Sleeve. Completely created by AI, the song went viral in no time and streamed heavily both on YouTube as well as Spotify until it was pulled down by Universal Music Group, terming it to be unethical.

While the song's growing popularity was curbed at its initial phase, it did lead to a wider discussion about the future of art and artists amid the growing influence of AI-generated apps. The mimicry may have created only a minor concern for the artists in question until the recording giant took matters in its own hand. But if one looks at the larger picture, it poses a grave threat to the artists as well as creativity.

Titled Heart on My Sleeve, the viral song was reportedly created using AI programming trained with artists' music, something which UMG said 'represents both a breach of our agreements and a violation of copyright law'. The song was streamed 600,000 times on Spotify and received 15million views on TikTok and 275,000 views on YouTube and was originally posted by a TikTok user called Ghostwriter977.

What made Heart on My Sleeve special?

AI programming apps have been used to create different versions of hit songs. Many would have heard an AI Rihanna singing a Beyonce hit and AI Kanye doing Hey There Delilah, but what set the alarm bells ringing in the case of Heart Of My Sleeve was that it was an original song that used voices of Drake and The Weeknd to create something new. The song was even marketed online which led to its brief popularity. The song, for those who heard it, seemed authentic. For many, it seemed like a novelty- to hear their favourite artist knowing that it was not originally sung by them.

The two artists did not react to the viral song although a day before the song was dropped online, Drake had reacted to another number which had used his voice to create an AI-generated song. Taking to Instagram stories, Drake had written, "'This is the final straw AI.'"

Songs created by AI using the voices of artists

Days after Drake and The Weeknd's voice was used for Heart on My Sleeve, a new song using Bad Bunny and Rihanna's voice has been created by the same TikTok user. Uploaded directly to SoundCloud, YouTube and TikTok under a different handle, Ghostwrider777, the 1:07 long song, Por Qué, features a spot-on yearning Bad Bunny vocal over a shuffling reggaeton beat along with RihRih singing “Baby you shine so bright/ Like diamonds in the sky/ I feel alive/ But now you got me thinkin.'

Rapper Drake had previously been dragged into the world of AI when his voice was used to create his AI version for a song by New York rapper Ice Spice.

Earlier this month, UMG had also taken down a track that featured an AI-generated version of Eminem’s voice in a song about cats, citing infringement of copyright.

AI and artist copyright

Reacting to the incident, Universal Music Group, which handles Drake and The Weeknd, told Billboard, 'platforms have a fundamental legal and ethical responsibility to prevent the use of their services in ways that harm artists'.

They added that the episode 'begs the question as to which side of history all stakeholders in the music ecosystem want to be on: the side of artists, fans and human creative expression, or on the side of deep fakes, fraud and denying artists their due compensation.'

Interestingly, the concept of AI infesting the music industry and plagiarising voices is a new one. So much so that experts feel there is really no legal rules that can protect the artists' community. New laws on copyright need to be created in order to make creativity and artists AI- safe.

UMG, which controls about a third of the global music market, reportedly is asking streaming companies to cut off access to their music catalogue for developers using it to train AI technology.

Courts and lawmakers are only beginning to sort out questions of ownership when it comes to AI, and copyrights in music can be complicated as it is.

So far, recording labels and artists are relying on fans and their loyalty towards their favourite artists to curb the popularity of such music. A true fan will be able to identify and differentiate between an original and an AI-generated voice. But this seems like a myopic thought, what with the increase in AI-generated programmes that are freely available online. Everyone can experiment and create something of their own thanks to AI.

The way forward

Earlier this week, Canadian singer Grimes said in an Instagram post that she would treat an AI hit using her voice as she would collaborate with any artist. "Feel free to use my voice without penalty," Grimes said in a post on her verified Instagram account. "I'll split 50 percent royalties on any successful AI-generated song that uses my voice." Grimes added that she has no obligations to a recording label so can uphold the offer.

Not just in music, even in cinema, Joe Russo- one half of the Russo Brothers- has said that in two years time, AI -generated films will be available for consumption.
Canadian singer Grimes has said she is fine with her voice being used for AI-generated songs- as long as she gets the royalties. The songwriter, producer and performer said in an Instagram post that she would treat an AI hit using her voice as she would collaboration with any artist. "Feel free to use my voice without penalty," Grimes said in a post on her verified Instagram account. "I'll split 50 percent royalties on any successful AI-generated song that uses my voice." Grimes added that she has no obligations to a recording label so can uphold the offer. Singer Grimes says AI can use her voice for songs: Feel free to use my voice

Slowly but steadily AI is infringing into all spaces in society. An AI-generated song featuring the stimulated voices of Drake and The Weeknd has now been pulled down from streaming services by the Universal Music Group for 'infringing content created with generative AI'. This after the track went viral over the weekend and streamed 600,000 times on Spotify and received 15m views on TikTok and 275,000 views on YouTube. The song was pulled down on Monday.

Titled Heart on My Sleeve, is believed to have been created using AI programming trained with artists' music, something which UMG said 'represents both a breach of our agreements and a violation of copyright law'.

Many speculated that the song was a publicity stunt by a startup tech firm and was originally posted on TikTok by a user called Ghostwriter977 and shared on streaming platforms under the name Ghostwriter.

The music label told Billboard magazine that the viral postings 'demonstrate why platforms have a fundamental legal and ethical responsibility to prevent the use of their services in ways that harm artists'.

They added that the episode 'begs the question as to which side of history all stakeholders in the music ecosystem want to be on: the side of artists, fans and human creative expression, or on the side of deep fakes, fraud and denying artists their due compensation.

'We're encouraged by the engagement of our platform partners on these issues – as they recognise they need to be part of the solution.'

Drake's History with AI

Interestingly, this is not the first time rapper Drake has been dragged into the world of AI. His voice has been used to create his AI version for a song by New York rapper Ice Spice. Drake last week criticised the move and said 'this is the final straw AI.'

The new song used Drake's voice in the opening verse, which transitions into a chorus from an AI simulation of the Weeknd.

So far none of the artists have responded to the viral song but it has surely raised concerns on what the future of music entails with multiple companies trying the AI module for various mediums.

Drake and The Weeknd previously collaborated during Drake's Nothing was the Same tour in 2014. The two have also collaborated on music, including Crew Love and The Zone.
Drake shares footage from July Swedish detainment for the first time| Video

Canadian rapper Drake issued a statement on Wednesday to shut down rumours, stemming from a viral TikTok video in which a woman claimed to having an ill-fated fling with the star. Taking to his official Instagram handle, he wrote, "Never met. Never spoke. Drake denies knowing woman who claims he kicked her out after sex

Canadian rapper Aubrey Drake Graham, better known by his stage name Drake, lost a $1 million bet after Argentina defeated France in the final match of the Qatar-set FIFA World Cup on Sunday. The singer had indeed bet on Argentina winning the game, but Lionel Messi-led team had tied the score 3-3 with France and emerged victorious 4-2 only in penalty shoot-outs. The market Drake had bet in, called the 1x2 market, does not consider the extra time in which the penalties take place. Thus, only the first 90 minutes of the game were counted. Drake had earlier shared a screenshot of the bet on his Instagram profile. He has deleted the post since then.

Fans of Messi and Argentina were earlier worried about the so-called 'Drake curse'. The rapper is notorious for betting against the team or player who usually ends up being the winner. Argentina almost did not escape the curse, but the said jinx clearly does not extend to the penalties.

Netizens across social media platforms were not happy that Drake had decided to support Argentina.

Prior to the start of the World Cup, Canadian superstar and Bayern Munich winger Alphonso Davies had met his countrymen. Canada were expected to spring a few surprises in the tournament but according to netizens, the 'Drake curse' hit the North American side and they ended up losing all three group matches before exiting the WC.

Notably, this is not the first time that Drake has made headlines for his ultra-aggressive bets. The rapper had punt $649,000 on Barcelona to win the El Clasico against perennial rivals Real Madrid.

However, Drake lost the bet as defending La Liga champions managed to usurp the Catalunya side by a 3-1 scoreline.

Argentine fans across the globe have been praying for Messi to lift the World Cup and cement his legacy as one of the greatest to have ever played the sport and win almost everything. The 35-year-old came perilously close to the trophy in 2014 but Germany stood in his way.

On Saturday, Messi will have to overcome the defending champions France. It will not be an easy contest and Argentina will like the luck factor to play into their hands as well.

WATCH WION LIVE HERE:

The late Lata Mangeshkar's voice is known to transcend borders and communities. The singer's popular songs have resonated with generations and so it comes as no surprise that Canadian rapper Drake recently grooved to her hit number during one of his concerts.

The late Lata Mangeshkar's voice is known to transcend borders and communities. The singer's popular songs have resonated with generations and so it comes as no surprise that Canadian rapper Drake recently grooved to her hit number during one of his concerts. A viral video shows Drake and Lil Wayne grooving to a remix version of Mangeshkar's hit Bollywood song 'Didi Tera Dewar Deewana'. The song featured Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan in the film 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun' which was released in 1994. The clip was shared by Chirag Gandhi who goes by the name of DJ Realist on Instagram. Did Drake and Lil Wayne dance to Lata Mangeshkar's hit song 'Didi Tera Dewar Deewana'?

American rapper-songwriter Drake, who often stirs up a conversation around his lyrics, is grabbing attention once again for dissing Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, in 'Circo Loco' track from 'Her Loss' album and implying that she lied about her alleged Tory Lanez shooting.

In his song 'Circo Loco', Drake said, "This bitch lie ’bout getting shots but she still a stallion. She don't even get the joke, but she still smiling," which seems to be a double entendre that reference to Megan getting shot in 2020 and cosmetic injections.

For those unaware, Megan claimed in an April 2022 interview with Gayle King on 'CBS Mornings' that she was shot by Tory Lanez in the feet after she attempted to walk away from his car during an argument. Megan's claims were backed by photos of her injuries and a medical report that spoke about "gunshot wounds" and bullet fragments in her feet.

Addressing Drake's diss track and its lyrics, Megan tweeted, "Stop using my shooting for clout b***h a** N****s! Since when tf is it cool to joke abt women getting shot! You n****s especially RAP N****S ARE LAME! Ready to boycott bout shoes and clothes but dog pile on a black woman when she say one of y’all homeboys abused her. (sic)"

In another tweet, she wrote, "And when the facts come out remember all y’all h** a** favourite rappers that stood behind a N***a that SHOT A FEMALE. (sic)"

To sum it up, she wrote in her third tweet, "People attack me y’all go up for it, I defend myself now I’m doing too much … every time it never ends and this did NOT happen until I came out and said I got shot… y’all don’t f*m okay cool f**k it bye. (sic)"
