Court Order Blocks 'MSVPG' Digital Reviews To Stop Bots

<p>Veteran actor Chiranjeevi has been granted interim relief by the Hyderabad City Civil Court and safeguarded his personality rights against the unauthorised use of his identity.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The court, led by Chief Judge S Sasidhar Reddy, issued an ad-interim injunction on September 26, prohibiting more than 30 online platforms from using Chiranjeevi’s name, image, voice or likeness without the actor’s consent. These include e-commerce sites, YouTube channels, digital outlets and more.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The restriction extends to AI-generated and Metaverse formats as well, marking one of the first such judicial protections against emerging digital misrepresentations.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The actor-politician had approached the court after discovering several platforms were exploiting his persona by selling unauthorised merchandise like T-shirts and posters for commercial purposes without his consent. The actor alleged several AI-generated images, memes, and videos also distorted his identity for profit or publicity.&nbsp;</p><h2><strong>Chiranjeevi’s persona is of high commercial value</strong></h2><p>The court acknowledged that Chiranjeevi is one of the most celebrated figures in Indian cinema. It noted that his identity, including popular monikers such as ‘Mega Star,’ ‘Chiru,’ ‘Annayya,’ and "Boss", carries immense cultural and commercial significance. The court stated that unauthorised use of such monikers could mislead the public into thinking they were endorsed by the actor himself.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>"The images appear to have been created by morphing the plaintiff's face and used for commercial purposes or propagating political, anti-national, or salacious content. The potential damage is irreparable," the court stated.</p><p>The injunction restrains defendants numbered 1 to 33 and 36 from using Chiranjeevi's likeness in any form-physical, digital, or future media, including AI and the Metaverse.</p><h2>&nbsp;<strong>Other celebrities who have sought legal help for the protection of their personality rights</strong></h2><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Chiranjeevi is not the only celebrity to have approached the court seeking protection of personality rights. The restriction extends to AI-generated and Metaverse formats as well, marking one of the first such judicial protections against emerging digital misrepresentations. The actor-politician had approached the court after discovering several platforms were exploiting his persona by selling unauthorised merchandise like T-shirts and posters for commercial purposes without his consent. The actor alleged several AI-generated images, memes, and videos also distorted his identity for profit or publicity. The court stated that unauthorised use of such monikers could mislead the public into thinking they were endorsed by the actor himself. "The images appear to have been created by morphing the plaintiff's face and used for commercial purposes or propagating political, anti-national, or salacious content. The potential damage is irreparable," the court stated. The injunction restrains defendants numbered 1 to 33 and 36 from using Chiranjeevi's likeness in any form-physical, digital, or future media, including AI and the Metaverse. The Akkineni family gathered together to felicitate Chiranjeevi along with Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. What caught everyone's attention was the presence of Sobhita Dhulipala, who made her first appearance as part of the Akkineni family at a public gathering. Sobhita is engaged to Naga Chaitanya and the couple is soon to get married.&nbsp;<br />

<p>The 20th edition of ANR Award 2024 marked a momentous occasion, as it took place during the centenary celebrations of the legendary Akkineni Nageswara Rao, fondly known as ANR.&nbsp;<br />

The grand event, held at the iconic Annapurna Studios founded in 1975 by ANR, was a glittering tribute to the cinematic legacy of the doyen of Telugu cinema. Megastar Chiranjeevi was honoured with the prestigious ANR Award for his lifetime achievements and outstanding contribution&nbsp;to Indian cinema.</p>

<p>Bollywood legend&nbsp;Amitabh Bachchan was the guest of honour and presented the award to Dr&nbsp;Konidela Chiranjeevi.</p>

<h2><strong>Naga Chaitanya-Sobhita Dhulipala relationship</strong></h2>

<p>Naga and Sobhita got engaged in August 2024, after two years of dating. The couple had kept their relationship private until Nagarjuna announced their engagement and shared photos of the ceremony on X. The pictures featured the newly engaged couple dressed in traditional attires.&nbsp;While Naga was seen in an off-white kurta-pyjama, Sobhita opted for a soft pink saree. Their wedding date is still kept under wraps, however, Sobhita recently kicked off pre-wedding festivities at Visakhapatnam earlier this month.&nbsp;</p>

Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan and family to attend Olympics 2024 inauguration ceremony in Paris

<p>Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan called on his elder brother, superstar Chiranjeevi and celebrated his historic political victory at Pithapuram in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections 2024 on Thursday. The actor returned home to Hyderabad after a meeting in New Delhi on Thursday and went to celebrate the momentous win with Chiranjeevi and family.&nbsp;<br />

Video of the brothers meeting and the Konidela family celebrating is widely being shared on social media. The joy and pride the family shares in the video is palpable as they welcome the newly-elected MLA home with flowers and warms hugs.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Pawan Kalyan could be seen touching Chiranjeevi’s feet, a gesture of respect reserved for elders in India. He then cuts a cake with his nephews Ram Charan, Varun Tej, Sai Durgha Tej, niece Niharika Konidela, son Akira Nandan and other members of the family.</p>

<p>In a video shared by Pawan’s team on X, he arrives home with his wife, Anna Lezhneva, and son, Akira Nandan. He is showered with flower petals when he gets out of the car. <p>Lok Sabha Election 2024: Telugu stars Jr NTR and Allu Arjun were among the first few celebrities who exercised their democratic right&nbsp;on May 13. The two stars reached their respective polling booths to cast their votes as they smiled and showed their ink-stained finger to the paparazzi.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The two reached their polling booth pretty early to avoid traffic and huge crowds which might disrupt voting given their star power. JR NTR was accompanied by his wife, Lakshmi Pranathi, and his mother, Shalini Nandamuri.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As for <em>Pushpa</em> star Allu Arjun, he came with bouncers to the polling station. He skipped the queue and walked straight into the polling booth. After casting his vote, he was seen greeting people.</p>

<p>Speaking to the media, Allu Arjun said, "Please cast your votes. It's a very responsible day. I know it's hot, but the day decides our future." Quashing all rumours of his support or affiliation to any political party, Allu said, "I am not affiliated to any party. I am neutral. I will support all who are close to me. My uncle, my friend and my father-in-law are all in politics. Regarding the Nandayala campaign, I had given my word to my friend long back. It was a goodwill gesture. Hence, me and my wife personally met him."</p>

He skipped the queue and walked straight into the polling booth. After casting his vote, he was seen greeting people. Speaking to the media, Allu Arjun said, "Please cast your votes. It's a very responsible day. I know it's hot, but the day decides our future." Quashing all rumours of his support or affiliation to any political party, Allu said, "I am not affiliated to any party. I am neutral. I will support all who are close to me. My uncle, my friend and my father-in-law are all in politics. Regarding the Nandayala campaign, I had given my word to my friend long back. Others include 13 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 11 in Maharashtra, eight seats each in Bengal and Madhya Pradesh, five in Bihar, four in Odisha and Jharkhand, and the Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency in Jammu and Kashmir.
