The result I have become a half Indian version of Angelina Jolie (since only one breast was involved)! I told my doctor now is the time to give some competition to the Kardashians since Pamela is passé. But no one listened to me, so now I have a portion of my back tissue in my breast. Perhaps now I can do chin-ups with my breasts! Jokes apart, this obstacle has given me a new definition of life. Respect it’s unpredictability and have the faith and courage to be the hero of your own drama of life. The invincible human spirit is God like, gives you the courage to endure and the will to revive. There is nothing that human spirit can’t do. Also I want women of all ages to be aware. I am 35, and I was returned twice over from a mammogram. If any symptoms come up, think of it as a protective force and get yourselves examined. Also we are so obsessed with boobs. This mastectomy has left me with even more self love! Big, small, left or right inclined , gravity pulling or defying, or even none, each breast the presence or lack of it has a story to tell. Mine has made me a 2.0 version of myself! Yea very middle class but much fun. The memories of that day do tickle a funny bone but some are scarring like the one with the photographer. He made us make poses that were extremely cliched but then he had to exhibit his artistic side too. So from looking from the corner of our eyes towards each other, to looking away from each other with our hands intertwined strategically exposing our wedding bands. From him standing behind me &amp; me sitting in front of him &amp; visa versa. From his hand holding my hand but not directly, Alas that would be too tacky for the maverick behind the camera. So the genious had my husband run his hand from behind my waist &amp; hold my hand from the front &amp; his other hand ran from the front of my waist stretching enough to reach my other far fetched suffocated hand that was trying hard to breath through the little pores that were sparingly left sans the mehendi, the 2 dozen red &amp; white bangles, nani mama’s golden bangles, my mother’s favourite bangles, Babaji’s Kadda &amp; last but not the least the kalira’s (golden embellishments hanging from the bangles). Amidst the many such contortions the only one left was us twisting our bodies around each other like the Naag &amp; Naagin. Though that crazy man was making us dance to his tunes anyway! So from then to now, it’s quite a leap. Thanku @subisamuel @htbrunch I thought it really would require a special day for us to get ourselves clicked professionally. But I didn’t realise the day would just not be special it will also be memorable for not only am I more comfortable in my skin today but also for the awareness of the cause that I am spreading &amp; enduring. Guess there is still more scope to love myself hence going through another testing phase. I somehow feel I’ll surge. But this (Badhaai Ho) is the cleanest film of mine because it is neither based on sperm donation (Vicky Donor) and nor based on erectile dysfunction (Shubh Mangal Saavdhan)," the actor said at an event on Wednesday.</p>

<p>He also said, “You don’t have to tell your child what’s happening in the film while watching it... It’s a completely fun and quirky family entertainer.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>Director Amit Sharma says he had first approached Tabu and Irrfan Khan to play the role of an elderly couple who are expecting a baby in "Badhaai Ho" but the duo felt they would not look convincing for the role.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
In the film, the 64-year-old Neena Gupta, and Gajraj Rao play the elderly couple who find out they would be turning parents for the third time, much to the discomfort of their children and society.<br />
<br />
"We approached Tabu mam in the beginning as we thought she would be nice in the role. But she's the one who suggested Neena mam's name and said 'You need someone slightly more older, so that when people see her getting pregnant, there's this disbelief'," Amit told PTI.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
"There is an age difference between the two and I liked Tabu's suggestion. Neena mam is perfect for the role," he added.<br />
<br />
The director said when he spoke to Irrfan, regarding the project, there was a similar suggestion.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
"When we thought of Irrfan and Tabu, we thought that they would be the best husband and wife. But both of them said though they're relatable and have worked as pairs on screen but if we have a father who isn't as fit and the mother slightly older, it'll be more relatable," he said.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
"Neena and Gajraj feel more real and organic. So it all clicked," the director added.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
Amit was impressed by the script written by Shantanu Srivastava and Akshat Ghildial and was sold on the idea the moment he heard one line - a 51-year-old becoming a mother again.<br />
<br />
What followed was nearly one and a half years of writing and fine-tuning the script.<br />
<br />
Amit says, he was so bowled over by the idea that he decided to produce the film through Chrome pictures, a production house established by him and partners Aleya Sen and Hemant Bhandari.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
"Then I met Priti Shahani (of Junglee pictures) and got to know she was working on the same idea but we had two different films. We both read each other's scripts and she said she loved ours. She said lets make the film together now."&nbsp;<br />
<br />
"Badhaai Ho" features Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra and is the second directorial outing of Amit after Arjun Kapoor's "Tevar".&nbsp;<br />
<br />
The director, who has directed more than 1500 ad films, says he learnt a lot from the failure of his debut movie.<br />
<br />
"It's different when you make a feature film because the canvas and the perspective is huge. A two-hour film is a different ball game where the scenes aren't shot in a linear fashion.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
"But 'Badhaai Ho' groomed me a lot. I want the audience to become a part of Kaushik family's world. If that happens, then it would be my victory. I have tried new things in my craft and way of looking at things... I hope people like that."&nbsp;<br />
<br />
The film is scheduled to release on October 19</p>

<p>Raghavan, one of the finest filmmakers of our times, always knows how to keep the curiosity level high. His film need not be whodunnit always, but he has aced the thriller genre simple by keeping the audience hooked as what will happen to his characters next. His latest, 'Andhadhun' is not different, where a blind pianist finds himself embroiled in a murder mystery.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Ayushman Khurrana plays Akaash, a blind pianist who had gifted fingers and plays the piano like a dream. He lands a gig for himself at Pune's hip restaurant Franco and also falls in love with the owner's daughter Sofie, (Radhika Apte). A regular patron of the restaurant, yesteryear's actor Pramod Sinha (Anil Dhawan) asks him to come home on his anniversary and play for his wife Simi (Tabu). It's only when Akaash reaches Sinha's home, does he realize that a murder has happened.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Raghavan's taut thriller has twists in abundance, with no character completely black or white. Everyone has a motive, and everyone is unpredictable. They don't always do what they say, so after a point, you keep anticipating for the next twist. It's interesting how Raghavan first surprises you with the twists, (I found myself gaping in shock twice in the first half), and then by the time you get used to that fact the narrative has surprises in store for you, you start anticipating the next twist making the entire film extremely engrossing.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The film not only has an engaging plot, but the star cast is superb. There are of course the leads- Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu, Radhika Apte- who are perfectly cast in their roles, but it also has a superb supporting cast. Be it Hussain as the 'nice' doctor who smuggles organs, or Manav Vij who plays the cop who is at wrong places at the wrong time, or the child actor- Kabir Sajid, who is always suspicious of Akaash- each of the actors are well suited to their characters.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Leading man Ayushmann Khurrana, who has now become the poster boy of slice-of-life films, attempts a thriller for the first time and does justice to it. Khurrana's choice of films is always unique making him the ideal actor along with Rajkummar Rao to play the regular guy. His Akaash is not a very simple, straightforward guy and he knows how to manipulate people around him. Khurrana delivers a restraint performance- a stark contrast from the typical north Indian boy we are used to seeing in play on the big screen. Khurrana is pitch perfect as Akaash.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The film, though belongs to Tabu who channels her inner Lady Macbeth, infuses drama, vulnerability and certain quirk to her character making Simi a very interesting character on screen. You enjoy watching Simi plot evil plans, you laugh out when she plays coy. It is so good to see the actress in a role that lets her perform to her hilt and she doesn't disappoint.</p>

<p>Had the second half been a bit shorter, the film would have been so much more fun but I am willing to ignore that bit because of Raghavan's style of storytelling triumphs over these flaws.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A word on the screenplay where Raghavan, true to his style, uses old Hindi numbers in crucial points of the narrative making it pertinent to the story and thoroughly enjoyable.&nbsp;</p>

Andhadhun: Tabu, Ayushmann Khurrana's film keeps you hooked till the end

<p>Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife Tahira Kashyap recently announced her brush with cancer as posted a long message for loved ones and fans on social media. Her post was all about ‘awareness, self-love and resilience’ as she encouraged women to get tested at the right time and regularly for preventive care.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the Instagram post, Tahira wrote of becoming “half Indian Angelina Jolie” as she had only one breast looked like since she underwent prophylactic mastectomy. This was in direct reference to Hollywood star Angelina getting a double mastectomy in 2013 and getting her ovaries removed later.&nbsp;</p>

<p>She continued by mentioning how important a regular health check-up is and wrote: “I am 35, and I was returned twice over from a mammogram. If any symptoms come up, think of it as a protective force and get yourselves examined.”</p>

<p>“The invincible human spirit is God-like, gives you the courage to endure and the will to revive. There is nothing that the human spirit can’t do.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>She explained: “I was detected with DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ) in my right breast with high-grade malignant cells,” she informed. Simply put, she continued, this is “stage 0 cancer/ pre-cancerous stage, with cancer cells multiplying in a contained area” as she posed with a picture of self, holding “drains (that) have become dumbbells” in her hands.&nbsp;</p>

<p>She also added jokingly that the surgery has taken away any chance she ever had of being compared to the Kardashians because “Pamela (Anderson) is passe.”</p>

Centered around Anaarkali whose profession is to sing songs full of sexual innuendoes, the film highlighted the plight of many such women who may sing raunchy songs for a living but are not ready to give sexual favours to men. Anaarkali&#39;s battle may have been a lonely one, but it sure resonated with a lot of women across the country and drove home a very important point- that a &#39;No&#39; means a &#39;No&#39;. While the film was lauded by the critics, its the audience which overlooked the film. Perhaps because of its look or maybe because it did not have a big name in the star cast- but it was a film that will remain relevant in the times to come. &nbsp;</p>

The film dealt with how a society perceives masculinity and how we always succumb to stereotypes. It had a superlative cast - each performing their character with absolute ease. More importantly, the film made a lot of people sit up and take notice of a fine actor called Vikrant Massey- who as the central character Shutu - gave one of the best performances this year.&nbsp;<br />

The music, its camerawork, the way the story was narrated and of course Kapoor and Saswata Chatterjee&#39;s performances made the film thoroughly enjoyable. Basu&#39;s tribute of sorts to Satyajit Ray and Herge&#39;s Tintin was lauded by critics but the storytelling method was not taken well by the audience.&nbsp;<br />

Featuring TV heartthrob Barun Sobti, Shahana Goswami and a bunch of theatre and TV actors- <em>Tu Hai Mera Sunday</em> was a story of a motley group in Mumbai looking for space to play football on Sundays. The film, in its own subtle way, highlighted the grave space problem in an ever-growing city like Mumbai. With some endearing performances and breezy narrative- it was a film that a lot of people in the big cities could relate to.&nbsp;<br />

The film, in its own subtle way, highlighted the grave space problem in an ever-growing city like Mumbai. With some endearing performances and breezy narrative- it was a film that a lot of people in the big cities could relate to. Mukti Bhawan A film on death and afterlife should ideally be morbid, no? But director Shubhashish Bhutiani's film was uplifting and refreshing in more ways than one. A story of a busy son who takes his father to Varanasi as the old man desires to spend his last few days near the ghats, the film was a poignant take on life and the little things we tend to overlook in our daily lives. With superlative performance by Adil Hussain, the film not only dealt with death but also highlighted the importance of celebrating life.

Yearender 2017: The most underrated films of this year

<p>There have been lot of speculations about Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Sheikh ever since they made their debut in Dangal. The two actors not only won critical appreciation but even got lauded by the masses. Post <em>Dangal&rsquo;</em>s success, everyone was curious to find out their next project.</p>

<p>Now, we all know that Fatima is filming with Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan for <em>Thugs Of Hidostan</em> and now her reel-life sister has also signed a new project. Sanya Malhotra will next be seen in a film called <em>Bhadhai Ho</em> opposite Ayushmann Khurrana.</p>

Featuring Vidya Balan, Manav Kaul and Neha Dhupia- the film will have the actor playing himself in one scene.<br />
