The release of Animal is just a day away. The highly anticipated Bollywood film starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead has piqued everyone's curiosity ever since the film's first teaser came out. Helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film's violence is being widely discussed on social media and it has garnered both positive as well as negative reactions. A clip from the trailer featuring Rashmika Mandanna has gone viral and became a favourite for memes on the internet.

Now, Sandeep Reddy has reacted to the viral clip where Rashmika can be seen clenching her teeth and saying, "I really wish he had died that day."

While speaking to India Today, the filmmaker explained the scene and revealed why Rashmika spoke with clenched teeth in it.

"Rashmika Mandanna was supposed to speak in a particular way because it is a very emotional scene. I knew there would be a certain reaction to it. When someone is feeling a certain emotion, then they speak with their teeth clenched. I think keeping it in the trailer has only given it multiple views. When you see it as part of the larger scene in the movie, it will make more sense."

Many internet users have claimed the dialogue delivery was unclear.

Talking about the title of the movie, Ranbir had told ANI, “Once you see the film, you will understand. I think the reason why Sandeep Reddy Vanga called this film Animal is because animal behaves out of instinct. They don't behave out of thought.”

Directed and written by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film features Ranbir and Rashmika alongside Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol. While Anil is Ranbir's father, Rashmika plays his wife. Bobby plays the antagonist in the movie. Animal is all set to release on December 1 in five languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

Animal will clash with Meghna Gulzar's latest movie - Sam Bahadur at the box office which releases on the same day. Starring Vicky Kaushal, the film is based on war hero Sam Manekshaw. Fatima Sana Shaikh will be seen as the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the movie. The film also features Sanya Malhotra as Sam's wife.

Animal: Ranbir Kapoor's film has already earned this much through advance bookings

Ranbir Kapoor put his Animal co-star Rashmika Mandanna in a spot during a recent outing on a TV show while promoting their new film as he teased her about her rumoured beau Vijay Deverakonda. News of their dating has been doing the rounds for a long time, but the two actors have not confirmed the it. Ranbir, though, seems to have put all the rumours to rest by slyly confirming their relationship.

Ranbir teases Rashmika during TV show

Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga appeared on the show Unstoppable with NBK which is hosted by actor Nandamuri Balakrishna.

In a segment on the show, the film posters of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's two films, Arjun Reddy and Animal were shown on the screen where the host asked Sandeep and Rashmika to pick one movie between Arjun Reddy and Animal.

Arjun Reddy was Sandeep's debut film which starred Vijay Deverakonda and was later remade in Hindi as Kabir Singh.

When the question was asked, Ranbir started to tease Rashmika as he asked her to pick who she believed was a better actor, her ‘reel hero’ (hinting at himself) or her ‘real hero’ (hinting at Vijay).

When Rashmika refused to answer, Nandamuri told Sandeep to dial Vijay’s number but the actor missed the call. Ranbir quickly said, “Sir, let Rashmika call, Vijay won’t pick (Sandeep’s) call."

Ranbir then went on to ask for Rashmika’s phone and even asked her to call him much to the delight of the audience sitting in the studio. Vijay did not pick up Rashmika’s call either but eventually called Sandeep back.

Ranbir teases Rashmika during TV show Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga appeared on the show Unstoppable with NBK which is hosted by actor Nandamuri Balakrishna. Ranbir quickly said, “Sir, let Rashmika call, Vijay won’t pick (Sandeep’s) call." Ranbir then went on to ask for Rashmika’s phone and even asked her to call him much to the delight of the audience sitting in the studio. Vijay did not pick up Rashmika’s call either but eventually called Sandeep back.
A near-extinct animal was spotted near the Giant Sequoia National Monument in southern California for the first time in over 100 years.

Michelle Harris spotted a big, grey canine crossing a fire road in the area in early July, the LA Times reported. "It tilted its head back and let out a decent howl," said Harris. "All I could think was, 'It doesn't look like a coyote, but it has to be, right?'" she added.

Later, the analysis of the tracks, hair, and faeces left behind by the animal verified that it was a female grey wolf. She was the leader of what researchers named 'the Tulare Pack.' Research showed that she came with her offspring, two male and two female.

Furthermore, the DNA analysis revealed that they are direct descendants of the wolf OR-7, who became the first wolf to visit California in 90 years in 2011. He was the seventh wolf radio-collared in Oregon. His GPS collar transmitted location information to satellites daily until 2014, when it stopped functioning because the batteries expired.

Environmentalists were excited about the grey wolf's appearance near the national monument. They also requested the US Forest Service to pause logging projects in the area until they could assess their impact on the endangered species.

Animal teaser out! Ranbir Kapoor creates mayhem on screen

In 1997, a lone wolf crossed an ice bridge that briefly connected Canada with the remote Isle Royale, which lies off the coast of Michigan in Lake Superior and is renowned for its rich biodiversity.

His arrival revived the flagging fortunes of the wider wolf population, which had been hit by disease and inbreeding, and triggered cascading effects that improved the health of the overall forest ecosystem, a study in Science Advances showed Wednesday.

"Issues like inbreeding and low genetic diversity are an important concern for scientists," first author Sarah Hoy, an ecologist at Michigan Technological University told AFP.

"But this is the first study that shows when you have these genetic issues, they don't just impact the particular population and increase the risk that they will go extinct: they also have these really big knock-on effects on all the other species."

'Old Gray Guy'

The first wolves arrived on the island in the late 1940s, and their main prey are moose -- giving rise to the longest running study of a predator-prey system anywhere in the world.

But by the 1980s, the wolves were in trouble due to the arrival of canine parvovirus which drove their numbers down from a high of 50 to around 12.

Though the disease eventually disappeared, the population didn't recover right away. The reason was severe inbreeding, which caused lower reproductive success, as well as poorer health outcomes such as spinal deformities of the kind often seen in purebred dogs.

"If you're a wild wolf and you're having to take down prey like a moose that's eight times your size, that can make life in the wild really tough for you," Hoy said.

Enter the immigrant, identified as "M93" by scientists, but affectionately nicknamed "The Old Gray Guy."

M93 was unrelated to the existing population, and also had the advantage of being unusually large -- a big benefit when defending turf from rivals or taking down 800 pound ungulates.

He quickly became the breeding male in one of the island's three wolf packs and went on to sire 34 pups, greatly improving the genetic health of the population and the kill rate of its prey.

Restoring balance

Moose are voracious herbivores, consuming up to 30 pounds (14 kilograms) of vegetation a day. By reducing their numbers, the wolves helped bring the forest back into balance, which was most notable in the effects on balsam firs -- the species commonly used as Christmas trees.

With fewer moose, the trees began growing at rates not seen in decades, which is vital for the renewal of the forest and the myriad plant and animal species that depend on it.

The benefits brought by M93's arrival lasted around a decade, then the situation deteriorated once more -- ironically as a result of his extreme reproductive success.

By 2008, two years after his death, 60 per cent of the wolf population's gene pool was inherited from M93, which led to a return of genetic deterioration.

M93 himself began breeding with his daughter after his mate died, and simultaneous inbreeding by other members triggered a rapid population decline until 2015, when there were just two wolves left: a father-daughter pair who were also half-siblings.

Fortunately, a restoration program beginning in 2018 has once more brought balance to the system, and there are currently around 30 wolves and just under a thousand moose on the island.

For Hoy, a key takeaway is that the same principle of inserting just a small number of individuals could be applied to other imperiled predator populations that suffer from the harmful effects of inbreeding, such as lions or cheetahs, to similarly improve their ecosystems.

William Ripple, a professor of ecology at Oregon State University who was not part of the research, told AFP it was an "important study" that advances understanding "by showing that genetic processes may limit the ecological effects of a keystone species, the gray wolf."

How a lone 'immigrant' wolf revived a forest ecosystem

In one of the rarest incidents seen in the animal kingdom, a spotless baby giraffe was born at The Brights Zoo and is believed to be the only singularly coloured giraffe in the world.

The giraffe, which has not been named as of yet, was welcomed by the zoo n July 31 as the officials sought expert opinion over the spotless and fully-brown calf, reported WJHL.

Spotless giraffe, incredibly rare and one of its kind, born at zoo in Tennessee

A day after reports came out about Ranbir Kapoor's Animal getting delayed, the makers of the highly anticipated movie have confirmed the disappointing news. The movie, starring Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol, was set to hit theatres on August 11. However, now, the movie has been postponed.

On Monday, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared the new release date of the movie along with the reason why the movie is getting pushed. The crime thriller will hit theatres on December 1.

In the video shared on his social media handles, Sandeep revealed that the only reason behind the postponement of the film is that they don't want to compromise on the quality of the movie.

"I’m making this video for two reasons. One is that I’m going to explain why we aren’t able to achieve the film release on August 11. And another one is that I’m going to announce the new release date. Coming back to the topic of why we are not able to release the film on August 11, the only reason is, and it might sound like a generic answer, the quality. See, I’m not going to explain to you how the post-production work has been delayed as it might bore you. I’ll cut it short. I’ll give you one example," Sandeep said.

#1stDecemberANIMALrelease@AnilKapoor #RanbirKapoor @thedeol @iamRashmika@tripti_dimri23 @imvangasandeep #BhushanKumar @VangaPranay @MuradKhetani #KrishanKumar @anilandbhanu @VangaPictures @TSeries @rameemusic @cowvala #ShivChanana @neerajkalyan_24 @sureshsrajan pic.twitter.com/EAGLNTaEy9 — Sandeep Reddy Vanga (@imvangasandeep) July 3, 2023 × ''There are seven songs in the film, when seven songs multiply into five languages it becomes 35 songs. 35 songs, different set of lyricists, a different set of singers, it's going to take a little more time than what I actually planned for." Further addressing the outstanding response from the audience on the pre-teaser, he said, ''Thank you so much for the pre-teaser response. A few of them said that it is not and will not be in the film, but it will be in the film; it is a cutout of a film episode. Thank you so much for the response.'' The film's synopsis reads, "A gangster drama that explores the turbulent relationships between all the characters that eventually lead to the protagonist becoming an 'animal' in nature." The project is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar`s T-Series. WATCH WION LIVE HERE You can now write for wionews.com and be a part of the community. Animal pre-teaser out! Ranbir Kapoor dons most fierce avatar in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's next

According to a recent study published in the journal Nature, researchers think they may have discovered the first animal to have walked the Earth 700 million years ago. Scientists from the University of California Berkeley concluded that the first animal was probably a comb jelly, or ctenophore, a predator that scours the ocean waters for prey, they said in a press release.

Although comb jellies look like jellyfish, they are quite different from them and move through the water by using their cilia rather than tentacles. They may be found in seas all around the world and are still a vital component of the marine ecology.

Park authorities in South Texas' Rio Grande Valley are baffled by a strange-looking animal that has been spotted there. The "mystery animal" seen on a game camera is being identified by park officials.

Employees at the Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park released a picture of the animal on Facebook and asked users to identify it.

The small, fuzzy animal with four legs was seen on camera wandering at night.

Employees at the Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park released a picture of the animal on Facebook and asked users to identify it. "We're scratching our heads trying to identify this elusive creature," read a post from the Mission, Texas-based park. "Is it a new species? An escapee from a nearby zoo? Or just a park ranger in disguise?" The small, fuzzy animal with four legs was seen on camera wandering at night. × Social media users' flooded the comment section with their best guesses. A user wrote, "If it's not a bear, then I would guess a park ranger in disguise!!" Another commented, "A good ol' Texas-size rat."
Scientists are training rats to rescue earthquake survivors while wearing tiny backpacks which contain microphones and location trackers so that rescuers can trace and speak to them.

So far seven rodents have been trained to wade their way into the debris. It is taking merely two weeks to make them fully equipped. The rats were chosen because of their size and agility which makes them the perfect companion in disaster zones.

The project is being helmed by scientist Dr Donna Kean, 33, from Glasgow. She has been working in Morogoro, Tanzania, over the past year for non-profit organisation APOPO as part of their project ‘Hero Rats’, reports Metro newspaper.

Kean, who studied ecology at Strathclyde University before and also has a PhD at Stirling University, was fascinated by how quickly rats can learn and be trained.

She brushed misconceptions about rodents being unhygienic and described them as ‘sociable’ creatures. She believes that these well-trained rats will save countless lives one day.

‘Rats would be able to get into small spaces to get to victims buried in the rubble. We have not been in a real situation yet, we have got a mock debris site. When we get the new backpacks we will be able to hear from where we are based and where the rat is, inside the debris. We have the potential to speak to victims through the rat,” Kean was quoted as saying.

A relatively docile animal, with sparse history of violent behaviour, has caused trauma for a British man who claimed that he was attacked by a “swarm of” otters when he was out for a morning walk in a botanical garden in Singapore.

Graham George Spencer, a British citizen living in Singapore, told The Straits Times newspaper that he was chased, pinned down and bitten “26 times in 10 seconds” by a family of 20 otters.

“I actually thought I was going to die,” said Spencer, who lives in Singapore and is reportedly in his sixties.

He claimed that the animals were provoked by a runner, who may not have spotted them as it was still early morning.

“Because it was very dark, he never saw them. And he just ran straight into them. And he was treading on them," Spencer told a local outlet, Mothership.sg.

Spencer said the otters bit his ankles and he fell to the ground. They then started biting his legs and buttocks, and one bit his finger as he put his hands up to shield his face.

His friend managed to ward the creatures off by screaming at them, he said. The pair were then chased by the otters as they tried to seek help from a visitors' centre.

Spencer said that he needed stitches for some of his 26 wounds and was given a tetanus injection and antibiotics.

Staff at the park where Spencer was attacked told him that the incident is “under investigation”, he said.

The island is believed to be home to 10 families of otters, or about 90 in total, according to reports.

Although they seem benign, they do have a history of attacking people. As recently as May, a 77-year-old man was reportedly bitten by an otter on the leg while exercising near the Kallang River in Singapore.

According to the Washington Post, river otters were once driven away by pollution in the 1970s, but have since returned as the country’s waterways have been cleaned up in recent years.

According to reports, the deformation has been linked to a recessive gene mutation from her parents. Midas' four ears aren't the only unique features on her body. The cat also has an adorable white heart-shaped mark on its belly. Cat born with four ears takes internet by storm

An 11-month-old 80-pound cougar was removed from an apartment in New York where the big cat was being kept as a pet illegally.

The owner surrendered the female cougar to animal welfare officials, Kelly Donithan, director of animal disaster response for the Humane Society of the United States, said in a news release on Monday.

According to the Associated Press, the cougar, nicknamed Sasha, spent the weekend at the Bronx Zoo receiving veterinary care and is headed to the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in Arkansas.

The Humane Society coordinated with zoo officials, the state Department of Environmental Conservation and the New York Police Department on the big cat’s removal.

“I’ve never seen a cougar in the wild, but I’ve seen them on leashes, smashed into cages, and crying for their mothers when breeders rip them away. I’ve also seen the heartbreak of owners, like in this case, after being sold not just a wild animal, but a false dream that they could make a good ‘pet’,” Donithan said.

He said the cougar was “relatively lucky” because her owners, who live in the Bronx, recognised that their flat was not a hospitable environment for a wildcat, and surrendered her.

“The owner’s tears and nervous chirps from the cougar as we drove her away painfully drives home the many victims of this horrendous trade and myth that wild animals belong anywhere but the wild,” he said.

Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Basil Seggos asserted that while cougars “may look cute and cuddly when young, these animals can grow up to be unpredictable and dangerous”.

Bronx Zoo director Jim Breheny said the exotic pet trade makes no contribution to the conservation of endangered species.

“These animals often end up in very bad situations, kept by private individuals who don’t have the resources, facilities, knowledge, or expertise to provide for the animals’ most basic needs,” Breheny was quoted as saying.
