Javed Akhtar warns audience against films like Animal; calls its box office success 'dangerous'

Karan Johar is the latest to heap praise on Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal. Johar recently appeared on the Mega Pan India Roundtable 2023 and heaped praises on the film and called Animal the best film of the year. The film's director Sandeep Reddy Vanga was also part of the roundtable interaction which was organised by Galatta Plus.

At the roundtable conversation, Karan Johar said, "People have come up to me after I spoke about how much I loved Animal, and said, 'You have made Rocky Aur Rani,' That's the vaccination for a film like Animal. It's the opposite extreme. I said that I cannot disagree with you more, because Animal to me is the best film of the year. It took me a while to reach to this statement and a lot of courage because when you are around people, you fear judgment. Like during the time of Kabir Singh, which I also loved... I was like I am going to say this and I am going to get dirty looks from certain people but I don't care anymore."

Karan Johar said he cried during the climax

The director then detailed why he loved the film so much. "I loved Animal for its front-footed, absolutely conviction-based narrative storytelling, breaking grammar, breaking myths, breaking everything that you think conforms to mainstream cinema. Suddenly you have an interval block where the hero is getting bashed up and everyone's singing a song... I am like, 'Where have you seen a sequence like this?' It's genius. The end, where the two men are going for each other and they play that song... I had tears in my eyes, but there was only blood. So I was like something is wrong with me or something is wrong with him, but something put together is very right about this film. This is not an average-thinking mind. This is a mind of someone who is so distinct, so individualistic that I was blown away. I saw the film twice, first to see as an audience member and second to study it. I think the success, and acceptance of Animal is game-changing. The conviction is something that I want to have."

Bobby Deol made a roaring comeback to the big screen with Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal and went on to earn a lot of acclaim for his villanious role of Abrar Haque. Recently, Bobby's elder brother Sunny talked about Bobby's performance and the love he has received since the release of the movie.

During his recent interview with NDTV, Deol shared how happy he is to see Bobby's career back on track.

“I’m so, so happy for him. It’s high time it happened. I can say now, people were not fair to him. I can’t talk about myself, but I can talk about him. They’ll call him a ‘sweet boy’, but nobody is doing anything. They know his capacity, they know his persona, but nobody let it happen,” he told the outlet.

Further, Sunny said that Bobby's comeback started with Prakash Jha’s series, Aashram. ''It was overdue. He became successful with Aashram. That went to the grassroot level, it was the most-watched thing in the country,” he said.

While the Gadar 2 actor hailed his little brother's performance and comeback, he went on to reveal that he has not watched Ashram as he can't see Bobby playing negative roles, "Can’t see Bobby playing such roles," Sunny said before revealing that he walked out of the theatre and Bobby’s character was killed in the Animal.

"I watched it, but… Animal is a great film, it's a nice film. People are loving it. I'll have my bits and pieces about any film, even my own films. That's me; it ain't gonna change. But I'm not going to talk about it… When I was seeing Bobby being killed, I just got out of the seat, and I couldn't take it. I just wanted to go out and do something," he said.

Earlier, Bobby revealed that his mother, Prakash Kaur, was not happy with what happened to his character in the movie. “My mom couldn’t handle my death scene. She was like, ‘Aisi film mat kiya kar tu, mujhse nahi dekha jaata (You shouldn’t do films like this, I can’t watch them),” the actor said, as per Indian Express.

Before the release, the movie's runtime of 3 hours and 21 minutes was a major point of discussion. Now, the director has said that the OTT version would be even longer with the additions of a few more scenes, that he had to edit out from the theatre release due to pressure.

In an interview with Komal Nahta, Vanga said that the last few days before the release were so hectic that they had to sleep in the mixing room.

“When I saw the film for the first time, I spotted a lot of problems. Content wise, I felt there were problems with sound. What happened was, since we were releasing in five languages, I lost track of which language sound I was checking. Last 20 days were horrible. We slept in the mixing room for almost three to four days. That should not have happened, there should have been one more week. But I am correcting all those problems for the Netflix version and we are planning to get a Blu-ray also,” he said to Indian Express.

Talking about the movie's OTT version, the director said that he's working on the OTT version, which will be 5-6 minutes longer.

“I was editing the version because there were some problems in 1-2 shots. I’m using different and a few more shots from the same take. One thing I felt was I should have left the 3 hours 30 minutes instead of 3 hours 21 minutes. I don’t know why I edited those 8-9 minutes. Now, I will be using those 5-6 minutes extra,” the filmmaker said.

Recently, Bobby Deol revealed his character Abrar had a moment where he kissed the film’s hero, Ranvijay, played by Ranbir Kapoor. However, Sandeep Reddy chose to cut the scene during editing.

In an interview with The Quint, Deol spoke about the climax fight scene between Ranvijay (Ranbir) and Abrar (Bobby). “There are these two brothers, they want to kill each other, but there’s a love that they have for each other. I’m going to shoot the climax sequence with a song playing in the background, which is about love,” he said.

Did you know Parineeti Chopra was the first choice for Animal and Kabir Singh? Here's the tea!

Writer Gazal Dhaliwal, who has written films like Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga and Qarib Qarib Singlle, has slammed Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga for not sharing the credits with other writers for the screenplay of the film. Gazal has claimed that Vanga has hogged the limelight by giving himself credit for writing, editing, and directing the film.

Gazal took to her Instagram handle on Thursday to post a screenshot from the film's opening credits, which proclaim Vanga as the “Writer-Editor-Director” of Animal. In her post she said she was late to the party but had a “seemingly small insight” about the director specifically from the point of view of a screenwriter.

“There is a particular kind of filmmaker who claims the ‘Writer’ title in the top credit of their film, even when there are other writers who have written the Screenplay and Dialogues of the film. It happens a lot, by the way, in our world. These filmmakers have a deep-seated need of power. Even though being a director is the most powerful anyway. For some reason, it would seem that claiming the ‘Writer’ credit is what gives them the biggest high,” wrote Gazal.

She pointed out that since Vanga has written the story of the film, he should've taken credit only for that. Gazal mentioned how other co-writers of the screenplay, his brother Pranay Reddy Vanga and Suresh Bandaru who wrote the dialogues and Saurabh Gupta were relegated to the sidelines.

Gazal added that while there are numerous things in the film that she found disturbing, she feels “compelled” to write the post for a different reason.

Writer Gazal Dhaliwal, who has written films like Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga and Qarib Qarib Singlle, has slammed Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga for not sharing the credits with other writers for the screenplay of the film.

Writer Gazal Dhaliwal calls out Sandeep Reddy Vanga for not giving credit to co-writers for Animal

Animal has been sensational at the box office. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial opened to massive numbers and has been consistent with its collections amid a raging debate on typification of women, sexual dynamics between a man and a woman, toxic masculinity perpetuated by the society and the universal language of love between a father-son duo. Animal is led by Ranbir Kapoor and stars other prominent names from the industry including Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor.

We got in touch with actress Charu Shankar who featured in Animal in the role of Ranbir Kapoor’s mother even though in real life, she is only a year older than the actor. Charu who was convincing in her role spoke to WION exclusively about the debate around the age-gap with her co-star Ranbir and her experience working with him and Anil Kapoor.

Edited excerpts from the chat:

Q: How do you feel about people reacting to you playing Ranbir Kapoor’s mother even though you’re just one year older than him?

A: The age gap debate is a very old one, and a very valid one. But this is really not a question I can comment on. This is a larger question for the powers that be in Bollywood, Hollywood, and in every industry. What I can comment on is my own role in the film where my character Jyoti establishes the central conflict of the story right at the start of the film – when RK’s character is still a young boy. Sandeep believed I was the right choice for this crucial part of his story. That’s how I came on board.

Interview | Charu Shankar on playing Ranbir Kapoor’s mother in Animal

Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who directed the smash hit Animal, has opened up about a controversial scene from the film which had the lead actor Ranbir Kapoor commenting on the female lead, Rashmika Mandanna's pelvis. Vanga has been criticised for the particular scene and has been called a misogynist.

Speaking to Galatta Plus recently, Vanga dismissed the criticism that has come his way for the scene and the film in general and defended the controversial line. Vanga defended the moment where Kapoor's character compliments Mandanna for having a 'big pelvis'.

The director explained why Ranbir’s character couldn’t express his emotions directly to Rashmika Mandanna in the scene. “He’s trying a different route to explain to her because it’s her engagement day and they were not in touch. Coming with that force and saying ‘Listen Gitanjali I really love your pelvis.’ He is trying to explain a theory which is related to the character, the title also, for the audience when they are watching the film it doesn’t seem like what theory he is talking about.”

'Big pelvis was a compliment'

Defending the scene, the director said, "I thought of shooting (that) he would just be playing with the petals of the flowers and he’d just put his hand on her feet. I wanted to shoot that but I thought I would not show it. I thought on the shoot day, ‘Let’s not do that and again give a shock,” revealed Vanga. “I felt like she is walking away, he knew that if he let her go without saying one more line, he knew that she was gone. So how should I say that I am seeing my future with you? I want to marry you. I thought in these situations boys behave very differently sometimes. Your intention is something else but you end up saying something else. So, he didn’t know what to say. This was the brief given to Ranbir also. Suddenly he doesn’t know what to say and he says Gitanjali got a big pelvis. He is giving a reason that I’m seeing a future with you that we’ll get married and have babies. I thought that was a compliment. I never thought…how you found it ugly."

What was the scene in Animal that stirred a controversy?

The scene is at the beginning of Animal and has Ranvijay (Kapoor) telling Gitanjali (Mandanna), "You have a big pelvis," as Gitanjali is walking away. She seems irritated and asks in response, "Are you calling me fat?” Ranvijay insists it’s a compliment and adds that it means she has ‘childbearing hips.’

About Animal

Animal is a story about a toxic father-son relationship, played by Anil Kapoor (Balbir Singh) and Ranbir Kapoor (Ranvijay). Rashmika plays his girlfriend and then wife, Gitanjali. The film also features Bobby Deol, Triptii Dimri, Suresh Oberoi, Shakti Kapoor and Prem Chopra.

The film has earned over Rs 7 billion at the global box office and continues to run in theatres after its December 1 release.

I never thought…how you found it ugly." What was the scene in Animal that stirred a controversy? The scene is at the beginning of Animal and has Ranvijay (Kapoor) telling Gitanjali (Mandanna), "You have a big pelvis," as Gitanjali is walking away. She seems irritated and asks in response, "Are you calling me fat?” Ranvijay insists it’s a compliment and adds that it means she has ‘childbearing hips.’ About Animal Animal is a story about a toxic father-son relationship, played by Anil Kapoor (Balbir Singh) and Ranbir Kapoor (Ranvijay).

Animal's climax scene had Bobby Deol kissing Ranbir Kapoor, Sandeep Reddy Vanga cut it out

Ranbir Kapoor's new film 'Animal' has sparked massive debate around portraying toxic masculinity and hyperviolence in movies. Have movies become too violent, if so, why are they growing so popular?

Deepika Padukone is in the news once again for the costumes she has worn in a film. The teaser of her upcoming film Fighter was unveiled a few days ago. The film has Deepika along with actors Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor in key roles. They all play fighter pilots in the Siddharth Anand film. The short teaser only gives a glimpse of a few scenes of the film and gives a good idea of the aerial stunts that it will showcase. Yet, trolls have found the time to zero in on a brief shot where Deepika is seen wearing a black monokini, romancing a shirtless Hrithik Roshan on the beach. The shot, only a few seconds long, seemed to have irked some sections on social media.

Padukone is now facing backlash from trolls who have argued that a woman pilot wearing a bikini on a beach goes against our country's culture.
One user tweeted, ''So our IAF pilots don’t have intimate life with their loved ones?'' while another wrote, "Personal life bhi ek cheez hoti hai. So Brave IAF women can't have fun according to you."

This isn't the first time that Deepika Padukone has faced backlash over wearing a bikini in a film. Earlier this year, there was a huge uproar over her wearing an orange bikini and dancing with Shah Rukh Khan in the Pathaan song Besharam Rang.

Many have also pointed out the hypocrisy amongst those who are tweeting against Padukone and pointed out that there have been no objection to the depiction of domestic violence in Animal or Ranbir Kapoor's naked shots yet some have attacked Padukone for wearing a monokini on the beach. Fans have also shared Vidyut Jamwal's naked photos from his retreat in the hills and called out the double standards of the trolls.

One user commented, ''It is degrading our women fighter pilots. Every country and culture has its own set of beliefs. No Indian will appreciate such perverted portrayal of our Brave IAF women fighter pilots.'' Naah #FighterTeaser is no Top Gun of Indian cinema. It is degrading our women fighter pilots. Debate around Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal reaches India's parliament

Since the release of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal, the entire internet has become addicted to Bobby Deol's entry scene and the song ''Jamaal Kudu''. The peppy track played during the wedding sequence of Bobby's character Abrar Haque's entry in the movie has made the entire country groove to it.

Interestingly, the melodious song that has taken the internet by storm is not an Indian composition but is a revamped version of an Iranian folk song titled ''Jamaal Jamaaloo'', which is around half a century old.

Since the song has gone viral, netizens have been quick to dig out the details of the origin of the song. As per the information available on social media, the song is traditional Bandar music from South Iran, and was first sung by a girls' choir.

Composed by Khatereh Group, the English translation of the song lyrics is, ''Oh my cutie, don't play with my heart; You are leaving, embarking on a journey; And I'm getting crazy; Oh my love, my beloved''.

The song was inspired by a poem of the same name by Iranian poet Bijan Smandar. Composed by the Shirazi Choir, a girls’ musical choir of Kharazemi Girls' High School, the song was widely praised in the 1950s and was performed at every wedding and function in Iran.

Since its release, the song has become a monster hit, and in just two days it has amassed 16 million views on YouTube.

Talking about the filming of the song, in an exclusive interview with Filmfare, Deol revealed, “I still remember, Sandeep [Reddy Vanga] had already found the music, a Persian song and he said that it will be played during my introduction, it’s a wedding sequence so it required dancing. When I started enacting it, he said, ‘I don’t want the feel of Bobby Deol. I want you to do something different. So Saurabh [Sachdeva] who plays my brother showed me some steps.”

Animal Box Office: Ranbir Kapoor's violent saga crosses Rs 500 crore mark

Animal has released and divided the audience to a great extent. Some have criticised the film's extreme violence and toxicity while others have lauded filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga's vision. The film's actors have been praised by the audience and Bobby Deol, who plays antagonist Abrar Haque in Animal, is overwhelmed and moved by the love that has come his way. Many of his fans have even complained about the actor's limited screen time in the film.

While speaking to news agency PTI, Deol said his Animal character had a lot of substance and he wasn't concerned about the length of the role.

He said, "It’s not the length of the role, it is the kind of the character which has so much substance. I wish I had more scenes but when I signed the film, I knew this is what I had. At that point in my life, I was grateful to God that I was given this chance to play this role by Sandeep (filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga). I knew I had only 15 days of work and wouldn't be there throughout the film. I was sure people would notice me, but I never realised that there will be so much love, appreciation and affection. It’s like wow! It's amazing."

Describing his character in Animal as a man 'obsessed' with revenge, Bobby Deol says he approached the role from a non-judgmental space, completely surrendering to his barbaric antagonist. The actor believes there is potential for a spin-off on his Animal character.

Animal's review on WION

WION's Shomini Sen called the film violent and toxic. In her review, Sen praised the film's performances and the music but called it deeply flawed. "It makes the toxicity of Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy (both versions, in Hindi and Telugu original respectively, made by Vanga) seem negligible. Animal is not for the faint-hearted as the violence that you see in the trailer is merely a small portion of what unfolds on screen for three hours and 21 minutes. "

Shomini Sen writes, ''Writer, editor, and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga had said in an interview that he would teach India how action films are made and he was not joking about it. Stylish and elaborately choreographed with a great background score, the action scenes are completely new to Bollywood. Especially a scene where hundreds of masked men come charging at Ranbir (dressed in a white kurta and dhoti) with first guns and then axes as our man-child protagonist goes gleefully charging at them with an Indian-made bazooka. It's a long scene where guns, violence, and gore have just been thrown in like it was being distributed at some store for free and you think that Vijay has finally done avenging the attack on his father. But it is just the first half and Vanga has more to showcase.''
Ranbir Kapoor's Animal is a massive hit, crosses Rs 200 crore mark worldwide

Bobby Deol is on cloud nine. The actor's performance as the antagonist Abrar in Animal has been praised and loved by audiences and critics alike. Bobby is so touched by the reactions that recently he couldn't stop himself from shedding a tear over all the action.

Since his acting comeback, Deol has been quite candid about the challenges and struggles he faced during the low phases of his career. He has even shared how he lost all hope about his career. However, the actor made an acting comeback in 2018 with the movie Race 3, and since then he has been doing well. But with Animal, the actor's career has reached new heights.

After the immense success of the movie, the actor was recently spotted crying after the success party of Sandeep Vanga Reddy's film in Mumbai.

In the video that has gone viral, an emotional Deol can be seen wiping off tears while his team tries to console him.

However, we met and he showed me a photo of mine of the time when I was not doing much work, but I used to play a celebrity cricket league. So, a photo was clicked there where I was standing and looking far away. So he (Sandeep) showed me that photo and said, 'I want you to take you in the movie because of your expression in this photograph and I want this.' So, I love you Sandeep for giving me this opportunity,'' Deol said.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Viral Bhayani (@viralbhayani) × He also interacted with paps standing outside the venue. He said, ''Thank you so much. God has been really kind. Itna pyaar mil raha hai iss film ke liye, mujhe lagta hai main sapna dekh raha hoon (I’m getting so much love for this film, it feels like a dream)." At the trailer launch of the movie, Deol thanked director Vanga for giving him a great role in his movie Animal. Recalling how he got the role, he said, ''One day I got a message from Sandeep reading, 'Sandeep Reddy Vanga, I would like to meet you.'' ''At first, I was like is this real Sandeep or is this someone else having fun? But, then it was actually him. Meanwhile, Animal is doing outstanding business at the box office. And, within two days of its release, the movie crossed the Rs 200 crore (Rs 200 billion) mark at the box office worldwide. The movie revolves around Vijay (Ranbir), a man who can go to any extent for his family, especially his father. Watch | Bobby Deol gets emotional after Animal success party: 'It feels like a dream'

A few weeks ago during the trailer launch of his new film Animal, actor Ranbir Kapoor called the film an 'adult-rated Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham'. The actor was putting it mildly when he described the film, helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

It makes the toxicity of Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy (both versions, in Hindi and Telugu original respectively, made by Vanga) seem negligible. Animal is not for the faint-hearted as the violence that you see in the trailer is merely a small portion of what unfolds on screen for three hours and 21 minutes.

What is the plot of Animal?

Ranbir Kapoor plays Ranvijay aka Vijay aka Animal who has had a problematic relationship with his father Balbir Singh (Anil Kapoor). The problem is not ego clashes between the two though. Vijay has always obsessively loved his father, a bit abnormal for everyone's comprehension, and his father has always been too busy to spend some quality time with him. He grows up as an angsty son craving for his father's approval in everything. A successful businessman, Balbir Singh has always tried to discipline his son, but to no avail.

Vijay returns home from the US with family in tow after eight long years when there is an attempt to kill his beloved father. Vijay then turns barbaric and goes on a killing spree until he finds the real culprit and motive. For him, nothing can be more important than his father and he is ready to put his marriage with Gayatri (Rashmika Mandanna) at stake to protect his father.

The basic plot of avenging one's parents is not new to Bollywood but it is Vanga's treatment that makes Animal different. I am using the word 'different' for the lack of a better word to describe the emotions I felt going through that long gore fest that Vanga has indulged in.

How much violence is too much violence?

Writer, editor, and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga had said in an interview that he would teach India how action films are made and he was not joking about it. But it is just the first half and Vanga has more to showcase.

By the second half, everything becomes too much. The gore, the violence, the bloodshed, the toxicity and even Ranbir Kapoor himself. Vanga was criticised for showing toxic love in his previous outings on screen - Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy. Looks like the man took note of the criticism and became brazen about it. Because in Animal, the relationship that Vijay and Gayatri share is alarming from the beginning.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga hates women

The first encounter between Rashmika and Ranbir's character is uncomfortable. He makes a crass remark on her body and then the next moment she has called off her engagement and left her family for him. The women in Vanga's world are charmed by men discussing women's anatomy with a straight face (remember Kabir Singh?) In Animal, he does try to show Mandanna's character to have a spine and speak up in between, but everything somehow is forgiven in the name of love. The toxicity, the bloodshed, the beast mode because hey the man is good in bed. Tripti Dimri plays a key role in the film but is also literally treated as a sex object and by the time her character comes on screen, you have given up on the man and the story itself.

There is also a lot of below-the-belt talk and at one point I could not help but wonder why Vanga is so obsessed with the groin area of the human body.

There are long-drawn scenes and discussions on the groin area, underwear which makes the penis hard, and whatnot.

And the people had problems with dementors flying in Adipurush? Not this?

Performances in Animal

It is rather conflicting to see Ranbir Kapoor play the troubled man-child with such ease. He has delivered to the part so well. Kapoor is excellent in the film and bound to win a few accolades in the upcoming award season but the film overall is so flawed that one isn't sure whether to laud the artist or not for taking up the role in the first place.

Anil Kapoor too is splendid and restrained as the man who never had time for his son and who now regrets it. Both the actors perform their parts well.

The women, Rashmika Mandanna, Charu Shankar, Saloni Batra, and Tripti Dimri are all great even though they are written poorly because the director only wants to highlight a skewed version of an alpha male.

There is also Bobby Deol playing an equally barbaric man much like Vijay. Deol's character is mute and he delivers to the craziness of Vanga's vision ably but he too has limited screen time.

The film is technically very sound. Shot stylishly by Amit Roy, it also boasts of a stupendous background score by Harshwardhan and Rameshwar and good music by a gamut of composers.

The scenes where Ranbir visits his pind (village) to get his brothers to protect his family and the sequences that follow afterwards are well-written and enacted.

Despite good performances, great music, and technical finesse, Animal is deeply flawed. In some moments, I was going back to Kabir Singh - a film I had huge issues with - and finding it mild in comparison to what was being shown on screen. Animal makes Kabir Singh feel like child's play or let me rephrase what Ranbir Kapoor said- Animal is Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham on acid.

Animal movie review: Ranbir Kapoor's film is 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham on acid'

Ranbir Kapoor's Animal has gotten an outstanding start at the box office. As always, Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film may have been bashed by critics, but the movie has received a thunderous response from moviegoers worldwide at the box office.

As predicted, Animal has become Ranbir's career's biggest opening film. The movie has earned moolah at the box office, and within a day, the film has crossed the Rs 100 crore (Rs 1 billion) mark worldwide, as per Sacnilk. Not only this, but the movie has scripted history by becoming the biggest non-holiday opener for a Hindi film.

On day 1, Animal amassed Rs 116 crore (Rs 1.16 billion) at the worldwide box office, however, Animal remained in the second spot after Shah Rukh Khan's Jawaan, which collected Rs 126 crore (Rs 1.26 billion) on the opening day.

Animal Twitter Review: Netizens call Ranbir Kapoor's movie 'all-time blockbuster'

2023 is the year of big box office clashes. In Hollywood, we saw Barbie vs Oppenheimer, and in Bollywood, we had OMG 2 vs Gadar 2. And now we have another big clash coming, which is between Ranbir Kapoor's Animal and Vicky Kaushal's Sam Bahadur. The next is between Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki and Prabhas' Salaar slated for year-end.

Animal and Sam Bahadur are among the most anticipated movies of the year. And they have created immense buzz among moviegoers. But as per the early projections, Sandeep Vanga Reddy's directorial is set to give tough competition to Meghna Gulzar's biopic drama.

Ranbir's film has been predicted to earn more value, and some predictions are showing that the movie is going to be the actor's career-best opening. However, we can't underestimate Meghna's film, which has its target audience.

If the audience is excited to watch Ranbir in a violent avatar, then one thing that we can't ignore is Vicky Kaushal and how people have loved him in patriotic films. His Raazi, Uri, and Sardar Udham have been loved by the audience.

Animal vs Sam Bahadur: Advance bookings

The advance booking of Animal started on November 25 and has received an outstanding response from the audience. As per Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh, Animal has so far sold 3,15,000 tickets.

Adarsh wrote on X, ''#Xclusiv… #Animal ONE DAY TO GO… LET’S SEE WHERE THE FINAL ADVANCES LAND… Advance booking status at *national chains*… Note: [Friday] Day 1 tickets sold…⭐️ #PVRInox: 2,48,000⭐️ #Cinepolis: 67,000⭐️ Total: 3,15,000 tickets sold. #AnimalTheFilm.''

As per early reports, the violent drama has earned Rs 22.41 crore (Rs 224.1 million) at the box office, going by the bookings. Meanwhile, looking at Sam Bahadur's advance booking numbers, Kaushal's film has sold more than 25, 000 tickets by Thursday.
