Interstellar object 3I/Atlas has been ruled a comet by most of the astronomical community. But there is one scientist who thinks it could be an "alien mothership" coming after not just Earth, but also the other planets in the solar system. Avi Loeb says it is only a matter of a couple of days before the object reveals its true self. 3I/Atlas is approaching Mars and will be at its closest point to the red planet on October 3. Then it will travel to a point where it will go behind the Sun, becoming invisible from Earth. After vanishing from our sight, 3I/Atlas might use the Sun's gravity to fling itself towards Earth. Right now, its trajectory won't bring it anywhere near Earth, and it is expected to fly by at a safe distance. But, Loeb says things can change after October 29. If it is a piece of alien technology coming with the intention to probe us, it might use the hideout time to implement its plan and swing towards Earth. He claimed this while talking to TV actor Mayim Bialik on her YouTube show Breakdown. Loeb staunchly believes that 3I/Atlas has so many anomalies that it shouldn't be dismissed as merely a comet. Also Read: Interstellar comet 3I/Atlas: Threat to Earth, speed, age and other questions answered
3I/Atlas anomalies - Speed, size, light
The Harvard scientist has listed the problems with the interstellar visitor. First, its trajectory is strange. 3I/Atlas is travelling in a straight line, such that it comes close to several planets, primarily Mars and Jupiter. Second, based on the observations by the Hubble and Webb Telescopes, Loeb projects that 3I/Atlas is humongous. He says it could easily have a nucleus measuring 46 kilometres in diameter, based on its brightness. His later analysis showed that the mass of 3I/ATLAS is bigger than 33 billion tons, and that the "diameter of its solid-density nucleus must be larger than 5 kilometres." He says the chances of it being a natural object are tiny because, before finding such a huge interstellar object, we should have found thousands of much smaller space rocks. Also Read: 3I/Atlas anomalies: Its mass is likely bigger than 33 billion tons, too large to be a comet Another anomaly he cites is the light it is generating. Loeb thinks that this object is creating its own light, being released by its nucleus, irrespective of how much sunlight is reflecting off it. It is also racing at a speed of 200,000 km/hour, which he says is impossible for such a large object. For the longest time, 3I/Atlas didn't have a tail. A comet develops a tail as it comes closer to the Sun because of a process called outgassing. But none of the telescopes picked up a cometary tail. Earlier in September, the Gemini Telescope in Chile saw the object developing a tail.
Loeb calls on world leaders to be prepared for 3I/Atlas
Loeb has called on governments across the world to be prepared for a scenario where 3I/Atlas actually turns out to be an alien spacecraft. It is slated to reappear in early December after hiding in the Sun's glare. At its closest point, it will be 273 million kilometres. However, if it does use the Sun's gravity, like Loeb suggests, that day might come sooner than expected.

Interstellar comet 3I/Atlas: Threat to Earth, speed, age and other questions answered

Interstellar comet 3I/Atlas was the likely origin point of the famous Wow! Signal detected in 1977, according to Harvard scientist Avi Loeb. In a new blog post, he pointed to the probability that the signal was sent by the interstellar object 48 years ago. He listed a series of calculations to deduce the position of 3I/Atlas in 1977, right about the time the Wow! Signal reached Earth originating in a far-off location. Loeb concluded that the two points in space are quite near, which means the chances of something else transmitting the signal were minuscule. "The ‘Wow! Signal’ originated from the sky coordinates of Right Ascension (RA)=19h25m=291 degrees and Declination (Dec)=-27 degrees," he wrote. The signal believed to have come from an extraterrestrial object at the time was recorded on August 15, 1977. At this time, the interstellar object 3I/ATLAS was at a distance of "about 600 times the Earth-Sun separation (AU)."
When was Wow! Signal detected?
He deduced that the "Wow! Signal was separated by approximately 4 degrees in RA and 8 degrees in Dec from the direction of 3I/ATLAS." Loeb added that the "chance of two random directions in the sky being aligned to that level is about 0.6 per cent," which means it is possible that 3I/Atlas emitted the Wow Signal. If this is the case, then it raises another question: "How powerful was the transmitter?" The Wow! Signal was detected by SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) astronomer Jerry R. Ehman. He was using the Ohio State University’s Big Ear radio telescope when a sudden signal stumped him. It was such a strange occurrence that he simply wrote the words "Wow" on a piece of paper, which was later used to name the strange signal. Scientist estimates interstellar object 3I/Atlas beamed the Wow! Signal 48 years ago - 'How powerful was...'

Interstellar comet 3I/Atlas is fast zooming towards the Sun. Meanwhile, our star is waking up and becoming active. The Sun will soon be raging in its current solar cycle and will release a coronal mass ejection (CME), which is expected to collide with 3I/Atlas. Will the whiplash affect the comet in any way? Scientists are intrigued to see if it does. This interstellar visitor is the third one after ‘Oumuamua and Comet Borisov. Its trajectory shows that it is coming from outside our solar system, has a dusty coma and now also has a tail after weeks of absence. Latest data on its motion gathered by the Minor Planet Centre, the International Astronomical Union, shows that 3I/Atlas has a nucleus that runs for over 5.6 kilometres. It is also quite large, and supposedly has a mass of over 33 billion tons. Harvard scientist Avi Loeb says that's an anomaly for a comet. 3I/Atlas could come face-to-face with our Sun's might pretty soon. The Sun could spit a huge amount of coronal mass ejection (CME) soon, which could crash into the comet. Will it kill 3I/Atlas? Or, could its trajectory change?

Interstellar comet 3I/Atlas could soon lose its tail following a beating by our Sun

Interstellar object 3I/Atlas is larger than previously thought, a new paper released by Avi Loeb in collaboration with Richard Cloete and Peter Veres states. The Harvard scientists wrote that the deduction was made after going through data on its movement gathered over four months by the Minor Planet. The International Astronomical Union checked the trajectory of 3I/Atlas between May 15 and September 23, 2025. The team of scientists analysed the trajectory the object should have based on its trajectory and then used the data from Minor Planet to set an upper limit on its deviation. The analysis took into account 4,022 observations over the four months, and it showed "the non-gravitational acceleration of 3I/ATLAS was smaller than 15 meters per day squared." They also used observations made by the James Webb Space Telescope on August 6 to find the total mass loss rate and outflow speed from its surface. Based on their calculations, Loeb, Cloete and Veres inferred that the mass of 3I/ATLAS must be bigger than 33 billion tons, and that the "diameter of its solid-density nucleus must be larger than 5 kilometres." Loeb says this is an anomaly for a naturally occurring object and shows that it is multiple times more massive than the other two interstellar objects, 1I/`Oumuamua and 2I/Borisov. He once again reiterated that given the limited reservoir of heavy elements found in such objects, we should have found a hundred thousand interstellar objects "on the 0.1-kilometer scale of 1I/`Oumuamua before finding 3I/ATLAS" before finding 3I/ATLAS. However, we have only seen two. Loeb has raised this point often to question the natural nature of 3I/ATLAS and whether it could be an alien spaceship. Loeb adds that the brightest point on the object has always remained centred on the nucleus. He cited Hubble Space Telescope data from July 21, which showed an anti-tail in the direction of the Sun for several weeks. Even after the Gemini South telescope revealed a "faint tail" on August 27, the nucleus remained the brightest point. The origins of 3I/Atlas have been a popular topic of debate in the astronomy community ever since it was first spotted on July 1. It is travelling at an astonishing speed of 60,000 km/second. Later data showed that NASA's TESS spotted it in May itself. Loeb has cited its trajectory, speed and its size to claim that it could be an alien "mothership" coming to seed the planets in the solar system with probes. However, most scientists are certain that it is a comet, despite its anomalous nature persisting.

3I/Atlas has several anomalies for a regular comet. Yet, the scientific community is sure that it is a comet and not an alien spaceship. Harvard scientist Avi Loeb has now presented more data to show that the interstellar object is too big to be a natural piece of space rock.

Israeli-American physicist Avi Loeb says that if humans encounter technologically superior aliens and manage to befriend them, we can live as a species in the cosmos longer than the stars in the universe. Loeb is known for his strong views on extraterrestrial life. He believes that there is life outside the solar system. In a big push forward, Loeb started the Galileo Project, whose main principle is that "humans can no longer ignore the possible existence of Extraterrestrial Technological Civilisations (ETCs), and that science should not dogmatically reject potential extraterrestrial explanations because of social stigma or cultural preferences." Loeb recently wrote in his blog post that finding alien life can help humans outlive the stars, whose maximum lifespan is a few trillion years. The Harvard professor believes the cosmos holds several experiences that humans have yet to have on Earth. This is one way humans can benefit from befriending an alien civilisation. Interstellar Comet 3I/ATLAS is brightening unexpectedly, new observations have shown. The object has been creating a lot of buzz for its strange appearance and the absence of a tail in initial images. However, it now has a cometary tail and is also becoming more active. As comets start coming closer to the Sun, they begin to get brighter. But, mid-September observations show that 3I/Atlas is rising above the upward-sloping line of brightening. However, the brightness might lower or go even more upwards in the coming weeks. Comets are known to behave unpredictably, so there is no way to know how 3I/Atlas will behave. As the comet gets closer to the sun, the water ice on its surface will sublimate, a process during which dust particles are ejected. This gas and dust is the bright, fuzzy coma at the centre of the comet, and elongates to form the tail of the comet. Earlier, the interstellar object caused quite a storm in the astronomy community after it was first spotted in July. All you should know about interstellar object 3I/Atlas: Size, origin, arrival, and why has it turned green

A team of astronomers from China have figured out the origin point of interstellar object 3I/Atlas. Earlier observations had shown that this mysterious object is travelling from the thick disk of the Milky Way. However, Yiyang Guo and his team from the Shanghai Jiao Tong University have deduced that it might have actually come from the thin disk of our galaxy. The thin disk is a region full of new stars and dust that sits inside a puffy region that is known as the thick disk. The latter has residents that are quite old and also has a different composition than the thin disk. Around 10 per cent of the galaxy’s stars can be found in the thick disk. Guo analysed the current orbit of 3I/ATLAS and the orbits of nearby stars to learn where this interstellar object could have come from. They looked at the past orbits of the object and of 30 million stars to confirm if this was a possibility, since this is a common way interstellar objects are formed. New images of the interstellar object 3I/ATLAS are finally showing a visible cometary tail, putting at least some speculation about the visitor to an end. However, several questions remain unanswered about the object that has captivated the imagination of astronomers across the world. Observations made by the Gemini Multi-Object Spectrograph (GMOS) on Gemini South at Cerro Pachón in Chile have revealed a cometary tail and a glowing coma. The discovery was made during a public outreach initiative organised by NSF NOIRLab, in which it connects people with scientists to generate interest in scientific experiments. The session conducted on August 27 revealed that the object was starting to show signs of a comet, with a broad coma, which is a cloud of gas and dust that forms around the comet’s icy nucleus as it gets closer to the Sun.The tail spans about 1/120th of a degree in the sky in pointing away from the Sun. The new images present a much clearer view of 3I/ATLAS as compared to the other photos taken till now. The presence of a tail and a coma is likely to put to rest all speculation about 3I/ATLAS and whether it is a comet or a new kind of cosmic object. The new photos also reduce the weight of claims made by Harvard scientist Avi Loeb, who thinks the interstellar object could be an alien spaceship. He had cited the lack of a clear tail as evidence that 3I/ATLAS is not a comet. Loeb also presented a bunch of other details to claim that it was a spacecraft sent by an advanced civilisation. Harvard scientist Avi Loeb has warned that there will come a day when humans will escape to space to ensure their survival. He said in an interview that a major catastrophe will force them to build a "Noah's Ark" to escape death and tragedy and start afresh in space. The scientist also warned humans against assuming that they are the most intelligent civilisation in the universe. In an interview he shared on his blog, Loeb talked about how "humans are good at maintaining their ignorance by avoiding the collection of contradicting facts". Loeb is fascinated with extraterrestial life and says humans are only acquainted with the "real estate" on Earth, even though there is "much more real estate on objects in outer space."Also Read: Is 3I/ATLAS not alone? LISTED! All the clues that point to 3I/ATLAS being an alien tech, not a comet

Interstellar object 3I/Atlas might be accompanied by a probe moving ahead of it, which can take a detour and enter Mars. Harvard scientist Avi Loeb has claimed that this strange object is not moving alone through our solar system. He says "a precursor mini-probe" can reach Mars when the "mothership" comes at its closest distance to "the complete path of Mars around the Sun." This will happen sometime in October, when the object will be only 2.7 million kilometres from the red planet. Loeb says this itself is a "remarkable fine-tuning" of the path, since, on October 3, it will be 29 million kilometres from Mars. This means that during its entire sojourn with the planet, it will reduce this distance considerably. He cites this extreme cut down in distance as another clue that points to 3I/Atlas not being a natural space rock. In fact, the way it is moving shows that something sinister is at play. How else do you explain closing the distance by such a huge margin?
A secret invisible probe is travelling with 3I/Atlas, Loeb says
This brings us to his more intriguing hypothesis that there is another body travelling with 3I/Atlas that we cannot see from Earth. The interstellar object is turning towards Mars to plant a probe on the planet. Loeb has calculated that if such a probe exists, then it is travelling ahead of the main body. But it is not moving in a straight line, and is on a sideways trajectory which would take it to Mars. If this is true, then this precursor probe can intercept Mars on October 3, 2025 or during the week before it. "If 3I/ATLAS is a technological object, this short MOID (Minimum Orbit Intersection Distance) makes it easy for a precursor mini-probe to reach Mars," he wrote. So why haven't we seen it yet? Webb, Hubble, and no other telescopes have spotted a partner with 3I/Atlas. Loeb explains that this is because it is extremely tiny. He wrote in his blog that this object is likely smaller than a hundred meters, and near-Earth telescopes cannot detect the reflection of sunlight from such precursor objects. Also Read: 'Wake-up call for humanity’: Scientist wants 3I/ATLAS to be alien spaceship — Here’s whyAlso Read: 3I/ATLAS and its 'intent': Harvard scientist calls on world leaders to prepare for an alien attack Loeb has a way to detect this secret friend that 3I/Atlas has. Back in 2015, a grave digger in Peru stumbled onto something straight out of science fiction — a stash of strange mummified bodies hidden in a cave. What made them instantly infamous? Stephen Hawking, the renowned physicist known for his contributions to humanity's understanding of black holes, the cosmos, and the nature of the universe, once warned that if aliens make contact with us, they won't be kind and might view Earth as just another planet to plunder. This is amplified by reports of a possible alien warship that may strike around November and as US Vice President JD Vance revealed his "obsession" with the little green men. "I'm obsessed with the whole UFO thing. What’s actually going on? What were those videos all about? What’s actually happening?" He said recently while appearing on the Ruthless podcast. What did Stephen Hawking say about aliens? Is humanity in danger? All you need to know.
Stephen Hawking's alarming warning on aliens and extraterrestrial vehicles
Before his passing in 2018, Hawking was known to persistently caution against intentional efforts to communicate with aliens, especially those potentially far superior to humans. He warned that an intellectually superior species may view our planet as a world ready to plunder instead of approaching us with goodwill. In an ominous warning, he suggested that such contact may even jeopardise humanity's survival. In a 2010 episode of 'Into the Universe', the genius famously said that, "If aliens ever visit us, the outcome might be similar to when Columbus landed in America, which didn't turn out well for the Native Americans." Pointing at how historically dominant societies, when they encounter less developed cultures, tend to dominate and disregard suffering that isn't their own, he argued that humans only need to look at themselves "to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn't want to meet". According to Hawking, it would be stupid to presume that a sophisticated civilisation would inherently embrace peace.Stephen Hawking further theorised that a developed alien species that possesses advanced interstellar travel capabilities would probably (like humans are currently doing) have depleted their natural resources. Thus, driving them to travel the cosmos to look for newer, resource-rich worlds. In such a case, Earth could look less like an ally and more like a viable conquest.Notably, Hawking was not alone in warning about how dangerous contact with aliens could be. Carl Sagan, an American astronomer and planetary scientist who dedicated his life to research on his research on the possibility of extraterrestrial life, is also known to have voiced a need for caution. He pointed out that alien psychology could be beyond our predictions.
So, what should humans do?
Staunchly shunning attempts to actively try to communicate with aliens, Stephen Hawking instead proposed passive monitoring was the way to go. However, some scientists argue that humanity has been beaming radio waves and signals into space for over a century. They posit that intelligent alien species may already know we exist, and if Hawking's warning was in fact a premonition, then we may already be doomed.

Before his death, Stephen Hawking consistently warned humanity against contacting aliens. As interest in UFOs and little green men comes to the fore, an ominous warning he made has also resurfaced. What did Stephen Hawking say about aliens? Is humanity in danger? All you need to know.

Stephen Hawking’s terrifying alien attack warning resurfaces amid 'mothership' UFO fears: It is 'something we wouldn't want to meet'

Harvard scientist Avi Loeb, who thinks that the interstellar object racing towards the inner solar system could be an alien spaceship, has called on world leaders to come up with an action plan that could be implemented if the object threatens Earth. Astronomers across the world were intrigued by 3I/ATLAS, which is only the third interstellar object to enter our solar system. It was detected on July 1 at the NASA-funded ATLAS survey telescope at Río Hurtado, Chile. Since then, it has been the only thing scientists have been talking about. They zoomed in on the object to learn more about it, and most of them are in consensus that it is a comet. But not Loeb. He has identified certain characteristics of the object which he believes are proof that it is not a natural object. Loeb says that it is an "alien mothership" that could be coming to attack Earth. Despite others panning his theory, Loeb is moving ahead with his belief, publishing a paper about it. Now he has called on global leaders to come together and make a plan in the face of an eventuality that is disastrous for our planet. Also Read: Scientist says 14-year-old spacecraft hovering over Jupiter can encounter 'alien ship' on THIS date https://www.wionews.com/videos/mystery-rock-or-interstellar-drone-scientists-debate-hostile-alien-craft-1753979384644/embed
Why do humans never talk about alien attack, asks Loeb
Talking to Newsnation in an interview, Loeb said it is important that a body is set up that could make decisions in case the interstellar object attacks Earth. He said, "I believe that we need an international organisation that will make policy decisions about such an object." Loeb pointed out that humans fear things like Artificial Intelligence and climate change, but have never given any thought to an alien threat. "We are worried about existential threats from artificial intelligence, from global climate change, from an asteroid impact, but we never discuss alien technology," he said. Loeb added that there has to be a common policy in place about an attack from aliens. It would depend on the plans of the interstellar visitor. "The response has to depend on its properties and its intent — what is it doing as it comes closer to us? He stressed that it is important to come up with a policy fast. "And it’s just like having a visitor in your backyard. You can’t decide on the policy for all visitors. It really depends on the intent of the visitor, and it’s just next door," the Harvard scientist said. Also Read: Scientist reveals HOW and WHEN alien 'mothership' could attack Earth, warns governments to take actionAlso Read: Baba Vanga Predicted Alien Contact In 2025. 3I/ATLAS and its 'intent': Harvard scientist calls on world leaders to prepare for an alien attack

Baba Vanga, the blind Bulgarian mystic who had a series of premonitions about the world, predicted several events for the year 2025. One of them is that aliens will make contact with Earth. Humans have been looking for extraterrestrial beings for years, but have never had any luck. But now people think that it might happen very soon, thanks to the interstellar object 3I/ATLAS, visiting us this year. Baba Vanga made several prophecies about the world during her lifetime. She saw events in her dreams and revealed them during her lifetime. Even though her predictions were never written down, her followers believe she warned about several world events that happened later. World War II, the Chernobyl disaster, Princess Diana's death and 9/11, the 2004 tsunami and her own death are some of the prominent things she is believed to have predicted. One prominent event she reportedly saw in her visions and is yet to happen is about aliens making contact with humans. This, she said, would happen in the year 2025. Experts believe it is a comet, although the latest analysis doesn't show a tail. It is also the largest object ever to visit the solar system from outer space, and this ticked off Harvard scientist Avi Loeb. He is almost sure that this object is not natural and could even be an alien "mothership" visiting us from another world inhabited by intelligent beings. Alien object 3I/ATLAS is travelling at a speed of 60 kilometres per second. Loeb was ticked off by the colour, size and the duration it has travelled to reach the solar system. It has a retrograde orbital plane around the Sun, which seems unnatural for such an object. It is also quite massive, measuring around 20-24km in diameter, 200 times larger than Oumuamua, the interstellar visitor in 2017. The object has entered our star system after taking a journey spanning billions of years. Loeb says it is almost impossible for a natural cosmic object of this size to travel for such a long time through space. Also Read: Scientist reveals HOW and WHEN alien 'mothership' could attack Earth, warns governments to take actionAlso Read: Stephen Hawking’s terrifying alien attack warning resurfaces amid 'mothership' UFO fears https://www.wionews.com/videos/mystery-rock-or-interstellar-drone-scientists-debate-hostile-alien-craft-1753979384644/embed
Avi Loeb reveals dates when alien spacecraft could attack Earth
His analysis has led him to state that 3I/ATLAS is not a comet but an alien spacecraft that could be carrying probes to study Earth and other planets. If this is the case, then another one of the mystic's prophecies could soon come true. Loeb says the likelihood of it being a natural object is 0.2 per cent. He even has a window for the alien contact - between November 21 and December 5, 2025. He has based this on where the object would be in October. The probe, he says, is likely seeding planets with probes and moving along in its journey towards other worlds. It could do the same thing to Earth when it comes near us. Loeb also has a theory about how it would attack Earth. According to him, it would be prepared for it when it moves behind the Sun in October. At this point, it won't be visible to scientists.

The people in the midwest United States—covering Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas—were left baffled when they saw mysterious glowing objects falling from the sky and breaking into pieces over various states.

The streaks of glowing lights appeared over the states, which left many questioning if it was a fireball, meteor shower, or some kind of alien attack.

The phenomena were reported by dozens of people at around 9 pm ET who said that the lights appeared streaking across the sky for around 60 seconds before they disappeared.

The spectacular show was captured by many people who saw red and orange shining streaks breaking into various parts before they dimmed and disappeared in the night sky, reported The Daily Mail.

Speaking about it, a Texas resident said, "It first seemed like it was going straight up toward the sky then went directly over our head, and we could see it breaking up as it travelled directly over us."

Alien attack or meteor shower? Mysterious glowing objects fall from sky in midwest US

Elon Musk, a gifted visionary, billionaire and often a controversial figure, believes aliens have never visited our planet Earth.

Addressing the perennial question at a panel titled "How to save the human race and other light topics" at the 2024 Milken Institute Global Conference held in Los Angeles on Tuesday (May 7), Musk, however, said if humanity was to send probes into the universe, we would surely find "remains of long-dead alien civilisations."

What proof does Musk have?

The SpaceX founder, whose company operates the Starlink satellite constellation consisting of approximately 6,000 units, said that his company has never come across unidentified flying objects that could suggest alien presence.

"I've not seen any evidence of aliens," said Musk, as quoted by space.com.

"And SpaceX, with the Starlink constellation, has roughly 6,000 satellites, and not once have we had to manoeuvre around a UFO… Never. So I'm like, okay, I don't see any evidence of aliens," he reasoned.

He said that this lack of evidence leads him to believe that if such advanced alien civilisations existed, they would have made their presence known more concretely.

However, he said he is open to concrete proof about visitations by the so-called little green men.

"If somebody has evidence of aliens, you know, that's not just a fuzzy blob, then I'd love to see it, love to hear about it," he said, adding "But I don't think there is."

Humanity, a 'tiny candle in vast darkness': Musk

Mulling over what this means for the future of humanity, Musk suggested that the absence of contact with alien civilisations might indicate that advanced societies are both "precarious and rare".

He said that if there are aliens out there and an alien species has managed to survive for a million years or so, it should've been able to settle in the entire Milky Way galaxy.

Elon Musk, a gifted visionary, billionaire and often a controversial figure, believes aliens have never visited our planet Earth. Also read | Knock! Knock! Who's there?...Aliens: When humanity tried to talk to the little green men "And SpaceX, with the Starlink constellation, has roughly 6,000 satellites, and not once have we had to manoeuvre around a UFO… Never. So I'm like, okay, I don't see any evidence of aliens," he reasoned. He said that this lack of evidence leads him to believe that if such advanced alien civilisations existed, they would have made their presence known more concretely. However, he said he is open to concrete proof about visitations by the so-called little green men. "If somebody has evidence of aliens, you know, that's not just a fuzzy blob, then I'd love to see it, love to hear about it," he said, adding "But I don't think there is." He said that if there are aliens out there and an alien species has managed to survive for a million years or so, it should've been able to settle in the entire Milky Way galaxy. Elon Musk cites simple proof to assert his belief that aliens don't exist

Were you visited by the little green men? Was someone you know at the receiving end of an extraterrestrial probe? If yes, you may soon be able to report such a (mis) happening online to the US Pentagon.

This could be done via an online reporting tool that went live on Tuesday (Oct 31). However, there's a catch.

Report aliens: Terms and conditions applied

For now, this secure form is available only to current or former federal employees or those "with direct knowledge of US government programs or activities related to UAP dating back to 1945", The Guardian said in a report.

The form is called All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (Aaro) and it is available to people with the above-mentioned access on the US Defence Department website.

However, officials have reportedly said that the public will also be able to report such anomalies soon.

On the website, it says that Aaro "is intended as an initial point of contact … it is not intended for conveying potentially sensitive or classified information".

Talking to reporters, Sean Kirkpatrick, the director of Aaro, said that first-hand knowledge of sensitive topics like the government's involvement in UAP programmes is welcome.

On the other hand, second-hand information about UAP, alien encounters etc is not welcome.

"This reporting mechanism that is on the website is for people who think they have first-hand knowledge of clandestine programs that the government has been hiding," said Kirkpatrick.

The move is an expansion of the US government's efforts to be more transparent about its exploration of the unknown, reports The Guardian.

For decades now, conspiracy theories about clandestine government programmes involving reports of alien vehicles and remains at Area 51 in the Mojave Desert have been a source of intrigue.

However, as per the Aaro chief, people might be disappointed as they currently have "no evidence of any programme having ever existed to do any sort of reverse engineering, of any sort of extraterrestrial UAP programme."

Know something about aliens or UFOs? You can tell Pentagon all about it at...

The United States House of Representatives is planning to conduct an investigation into allegations that the US government is harbouring unidentified flying objects (UFOs). This comes as recently, David Grusch, a former intelligence official, claimed that the US has "intact and partially intact" alien vehicles. The whistleblower claimed that the US government is hiding the truth about these alien vehicles from Congress and the people.

As per a report by The Guardian, James Comer, the Republican Chair of the House Oversight Committee, announced that a hearing will be held to examine these claims.

When will the hearing take place, who will lead the investigation?

The exact date of the hearing has not been determined yet, but it is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Republican members of Congress, Tim Burchett and Anna Paulina Luna, will lead the oversight committee investigation, reports The Guardian.

He claimed that after analysing these vehicles, he concluded that the material was "of exotic origin" belonging to "non-human intelligence, whether extraterrestrial or unknown origin."

US House of Representatives launches probe into whistleblower claims of government's UFO cover-up

A captain in the United States Air Force has revealed that around half a century ago, a UFO attack allegedly took down weapons on a nuclear missiles base he was working on. Speaking to National Geographic, the Air Force Captain has alleged that the incident was concealed from the public.

Sharing his account of the incident where his nuclear missile base was allegedly "attacked by a UFO", retired US Air Force captain Robert Salas said that the encounter took place over 50 years ago, on March 24, 1967, to be exact.

He claims that the base at that time was holding 10 nuclear missiles.

The guards on duty were reportedly left "frightened," "screaming" and "babbling" after the close encounter.

Speaking to National Geographic for its series on UFOs, Salas claimed that the United States government covered up the incident.

The former Air Force Captain, as per Express UK, was heading up a Malmstrom base in Montana when he and his colleagues saw eight orange-coloured lights over the base.

He recalls, "Sometime in the evening hours, I get a call from the main guard upstairs. He tells me that there are strange lights flying upon the facility."

As per Express UK, he spoke of his initial dismissal of the situation, saying, "I kind of dismissed it. I even said: 'You mean like UFOs?' About five minutes later, he calls back, and he is screaming."

The situation became alarming, and that led Salas to believe they were under attack.

"When I hung up the phone, I thought we were under attack. By who or what, I had no idea and we had bells and whistles going off in our control room. We could see the lights going from green to red all across the board, meaning the missiles were inoperable."

He claims that despite a significant portion of the US nuclear arsenal potentially being compromised, no investigation was conducted and that he and his fellow officials were made to sign documents swearing them to secrecy.

As per Salas, initially, a UFO investigation was launched into the incident. However, three years after the scary encounter, the US Air Force shut down its UFO investigation, stating that no reported sightings had ever posed a threat.
