Kirkpatrick said during the hearing that "I want to underscore today that only a very small percentage of UAP reports display signatures that could reasonably be described as anomalous."&nbsp;

"The majority of unidentified objects reported to AARO demonstrate mundane characteristics of balloons, [uncrewed] aerial systems, clutter, natural phenomena or other readily explainable sources," he added.&nbsp;

People shared images of an "eerily cool" thin cloud which was lit by the full moon of March, popularly called the worm moon, on social media platforms leaving netizens in awe at the mesmerising view.

As per reports, the worm-like phenomenon was spotted hanging in the sky across various parts of Oxfordshire on Tuesday.

The “bizarre” cloud was speculated as a wormhole, an alien invasion or the result of experiments being conducted at the Harwell science campus by Facebook users.

Dale, who works for British Weather Services, said that water vapour created from an artificial source, like a rocket, would have quickly crystallised in the cold weather and appeared hung in the sky.

He stated that the clouds do not resemble any natural cloud formation he is aware of and also acknowledged that "nature... has a funny way of presenting itself sometimes and it can come up with wonderful and weird things”.

"Not that there's any rocket launch pads in Abingdon, I don't think. It's either a mini-tornado that looks a bit freakish or we've got a... rocket. It's hanging in the air still, quite literally,” he added.

A researcher has claimed that there may be four extraterrestrial civilisations in the Milky Way that could attack or invade the planet Earth. As reported by Vice News, Alberto Caballero, who is a PhD student at the University of Vigo in Spain, estimated the prevalence of "malicious extraterrestrial" civilisations.&nbsp;

In the paper which is titled "Estimating the Prevalence of Malicious Extraterrestrial Civilizations," Caballero has attempted to provide an estimation of the prevalence of hostile extraterrestrial civilisations. Although, he admitted that there are "some limitations".&nbsp;

Caballero noted that the estimation is based on the "world's history of invasions in the last century, military capabilities of the countries involved, and the global growth rate of energy consumption".&nbsp;

In the non-peer-reviewed research published in Arxiv journal, Caballero stated that the upper limits of standard deviations are used to obtain the "estimated probability of extraterrestrial invasion" by a civilisation whose planet we send a message to.&nbsp;

He further stated that results show that such probability is "two orders of magnitude lower than the impact probability of a planet-killer asteroid".&nbsp;

Scientists are planning to send a message (METI, or "Messaging Extraterrestrial Intelligence") to the so-called alien civilisation. Although there is no definitive proof but the US government is serious about the increasing signs of extraterrestrial life.&nbsp;

However, as a warning to the scientists, Caballero in his paper stated that the findings could serve as a starting point for an international debate about sending the first serious interstellar radio messages to nearby potentially habitable planets.&nbsp;

"I did the paper-based only on life as we know it. We don't know the mind of extraterrestrials. An extraterrestrial civilization may have a brain with a different chemical composition and they might not have empathy or they might have more psychopathological behaviours," Caballero told Vice.&nbsp;

"I found this way to do [the study], which has limitations because we don't know the mind of what aliens would be like," he added.&nbsp;

In his paper, he wrote that such an event takes place once every 100 million years. Caballero researched human "invasions" of other countries over the last 50 years as he mentioned that he did the paper-based "only on life as we know it".&nbsp;

The report noted that he applied the data he gathered to the number of known "exoplanets" in our galaxy. Claudio Maccone, an Italian scientist, estimated that there are around 15,785 exoplanets. After analysing the data, Caballero estimated that there could be four "malicious" alien civilisations.&nbsp;

Caballero noted that the estimation is based on the "world's history of invasions in the last century, military capabilities of the countries involved, and the global growth rate of energy consumption". "I found this way to do [the study], which has limitations because we don't know the mind of what aliens would be like," he added. Caballero researched human "invasions" of other countries over the last 50 years as he mentioned that he did the paper-based "only on life as we know it". The report noted that he applied the data he gathered to the number of known "exoplanets" in our galaxy. Claudio Maccone, an Italian scientist, estimated that there are around 15,785 exoplanets. After analysing the data, Caballero estimated that there could be four "malicious" alien civilisations. The interplanetary message called "Beacon in the Galaxy" contains a vast range of information, including basic arithmetic and physics principles on communication, digital photographs of the human form, DNA elements, and a time-stamped depiction of the solar system, Earth's system. It concludes with an invitation to the aliens to respond by beaming back a response.

The quest to talk to the green little men actually started more than a century ago. It started with an Austrian named Joseph Johann Von Littrow. If you're wondering how did a 19th-century astronomer want to contact aliens, surely they didn't have the technology back then...you're right.

They didn't have the technology, what Von Littrow proposed was something far different. He wanted to burn the Sahara desert. His plan was to dig massive trenches of geometric patterns in the Sahara, fill them with Kerosene oil and let it burn.

Now, a NASA led team of international scientists are once again planning to satiate this curiosity. They have developed a binary-coded message that they propose beaming out across the galaxy, in the hopes of finally establishing contact with aliens.

"Beacon in the Galaxy," an interstellar message, contains a wide variety of information: basic concepts in math and physics on communication, digital images of the human form, elements of DNA, a time-stamped depiction of the solar system, and Earth’s system. It ends with an invitation for the aliens to beam back a reply.

In an interesting twist, the scientists say the position of the planet is incorporated in hopes of not only receiving a message from aliens but also receiving a physical vehicle to Earth at "some point in the future".

Dr Jonathan Jiang of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory is heading the experiment. The group of researchers plans to broadcast the message right into the heart of the Milky Way, using the Seti Institute’s Allen Telescope Array in California and the Chinese 500-metre Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope.

According to the paper, a future message could include additional frequencies of greater complexity, incorporating major pieces of music such as Beethoven's, Mozart's, or Bach's symphonies.

Experts believe it is very unlikely that an intelligent civilisation will intercept the message, and even if it happens, establishing an intelligent, fruitful conversation can prove challenging since it will take tens of thousands of years for the message to reach its intended target.

Another possibility is that the aliens might not understand the message and consider it gibberish.

And then there are other concerns…What if we somehow invite the wrath of civilisations far superior to ours?

Genius professor Stephen Hawking while speaking to Discovery Channel during the filming of a documentary, warned that we need to refrain from trying to contact aliens or we just might end up with the kind of attention we regret.

“We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn’t want to meet.”&nbsp;

According to him, meeting aliens is similar to Christopher Columbus meeting Native Americans: “That didn’t turn out so well.”

Dr Jiang and his colleagues remain optimistic, however. They suggest that an alien society capable of communication throughout the cosmos may have learned the value of peace and collaboration and that mankind may benefit greatly from their knowledge.

They write, “logic suggests a species which has reached sufficient complexity to achieve communication through the cosmos would also very likely have attained high levels of cooperation amongst themselves and thus will know the importance of peace and collaboration,” adding that if communication were to be established, the outcome would vastly outweigh the concerns.

NASA to beam out Earth's location into space. Experts warn that it just might invite an alien invasion!

Avi Loeb, a Harvard professor, is claiming the shiny objects coming towards the Earth from space are not&nbsp;celestial objects or rock formations, but 'space garbage' being thrown in the atmosphere by aliens.

Loeb is the Chair of&nbsp;Harvard’s Department of Astronomy and says the shiny rocks coming from the space are proof that life beyond humans exists in this atmosphere.

The 'space garbage' was dropped by the aliens in 2017, according to professor Loeb's latest book 'Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth', and that object recently flew into our solar system and resembled a shiny rock.

He claims on September 06, 2017, an object from the Star Vega,&nbsp;a star located about 25 light-years away, the object entered our atmosphere and&nbsp;moved closer to the sun on September 09. the same object then flew past Venus at a speed of 58,900 miles per hour, then "moving swiftly toward the constellation Pegasus and the blackness beyond" and then inching towards the Earth on October 07.

The object labelled as 'Oumuamua' — which is Hawaiian for 'scout' — was a small 100-yard-long object and was the first interstellar object detected inside our solar system.

An interesting belief about this object is that some scientists believe this object is not bound by the sun's gravitational pull.

Loeb also explains in his book that the astronomers have concluded it reflected sunlight after every eight hours, giving them an opportunity to make a safe assumption that the object takes eight hours to complete a full rotation.

The professor also offers the physical appearance of the object as a proof for his claim. The object is almost ten times longer than its width, which is a rarity and thus proves Loeb's point that this object is not an ordinary space object.

On the topic of UFOs Obama said - “Certainly asked about it”.

When Colbert pressed him for more details with a hungry “And?”, he responded with “Can’t tell you”, and followed with a “sorry”. In short, Obama knows something that we don’t. But will he tell us? Most probably not.

Colbert also processed his response along similar lines. “I’ll take that as a yes”, he said to Obama, while adding that if there were no aliens, he would have said that there were none.
