Gujarat Titans won the IPL 2026 match against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday (Apr 8) by one run at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi to get first points of the season. Needing two runs of last two balls in a chase of 211, DC's David Miller denied taking a single on the penultimate ball which eventually came back to haunt the team. On the last ball, GT's Prasidh Krishna bowled a slower bouncer which Miller missed connecting and his partner Kuldeep Yadav was run-out. This is DC's first loss of the season after winning first two matches but they sit pretty on fourth place with four points from three matches. GT, meanwhile, are sixth with two points from win vs DC after losing the first two of three games played so far.
KL Rahul gives everything in chase for DC
The Capitals started the chase beautifully, scoring 50 inside the powerplay and finishing the first six overs at 63/0. KL Rahul anchored the innings when Pathum Nissanka (41 off 24) was attacking and took the scoring on himself after his dismissal in ninth over. Rahul added 25 quick runs with Nitish Rana (5) for the second wicket before Rashid Khan dismissed Rana and DC's hero of first two matches, Sameer Rizvi, on back-to-back to balls in the 10th over.
David Miller came to the crease but retired in the 13th over at 130/3 and came back in the 17th over at 160/5. KL Rahul was dismissed on the last of the over after scoring a brilliant 82 off 41 balls, leaving Miller to do the job. The Protea did his best, scoring 41 off 20 balls, but his refusal of single when the match could have been tied, cost the team two point as DC managed 209/8 in 20 overs.

Batting first under the threat of rain, Gujarat lost first wicket in Sai Sudharsan in the third over. Shubman Gill (70 off 45), Jos Buttler (52 off 27), and Washington Sundar (55 off 32 balls) then did the bulk of scoring and took GT past 200 as they finished at 210/4 in 20 overs. For DC, Mukesh Kumar took 2/55 in four overs while Lungi Ngidi and Kuldeep Yadav picked 1/24 and 1/42, respectively.
