After Rohit Sharma's brilliant century andYuzvendra Chahal's four-wicket haul, India are off to a winning start in the Cricket World Cup 2019 after defeating South Africa by six wickets.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, South Africa posted a below-par 227 for nine in their 50 overs asChahal returned figures of 4-51 following a superb opening burst from seamer Jasprit Bumrah (2-35).

While chasing, India lost opener Shikhar Dhawan early, after that skipper Virat Kohli fell for 18 runs.

While Virat's wicket was a treat to watch as South Africa wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock took a sensational catch to dismiss Indian skipper.

De Kock was airborne as he flew towards first slip to grab the ball, which flew off Kohli's edge from a rising delivery by paceman Andile Phehlukwayo.

Kohli returned to the pavilion to stunned silence from a large crowd dominated by Indian fans.

It is the first time that Kohli has not started the World Cup with a century after reaching triple figures in his first matches of the 2011 and 2015 editions.
