IPL 2024: CSK's new recruit leads Purple Cap list. Check full list inside

The IPL 2024 edition continues to entertain fans with each passing day. As of now, on Tuesday afternoon (April 9), 22 matches have been completed with all the 10 teams fighting hard to top the points table, the batters and bowlers are also engaged in an enthralling battle to top the Orange (most runs) and Purple Cap list (most wickets), respectively. In the Orange Cap list, Royal Challengers Bengaluru(RCB) star batter Virat Kohli tops the chart whereas Chennai Super Kings (CSK)'s new recruit Mustafizur Rahman is at the first spot in the Purple Cap list.

Mustafizur -- wildly known as The Fizz -- is CSK's new entrant this season. The wily Bangladeshi pacer has made a mark instantly. He wasn't available for the defending champions for one game, and five-time winners, where they dearly missed his services --against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), during match 18,in Hyderabad. During the match,the Yellow Army failed to defend 166and conceded 78 runs in the first six overs. SRH succeeded in the run-chase without dropping much sweat as CSK missed Mustafizur.

Mustafizur has a best haul of 4 for 29 so far in IPL 2024, which he claimed in the season-opener during CSK's easy win over RCB in Chennai. On Monday (April 8), the Chennai pacer made a return during his side's home game versus Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The 28-year-old-- who missed the SRH game for travelling home to process his USvisa for the T20 World Cup 2024 -- accounted for 2 for 22 in his side's seven-wicket win.

Fizz will be eager to continue in a similar stead and take Ruturaj Gaikwad & Co. to the playoffs in the ongoing edition.
