Warner scored 85 runs from 53 balls. The innings included nine boundaries and three sixes. While he came close to a century, he was dismissed off Russell when Robin Uthappa took a brilliant catch at cover.

The 32-year-old returned to the Indian Premier League (IPL) after missing the entire 2018 season due to a one-year-ban given by Cricket Australia for his involvement in the infamous ball-tampering scandal.
