Opener Chris Lynn's unbeaten 62-run knock powered Kolkata to register a six-wicket victory over Bangalore at Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday.
Earlier, Kolkata's Dinesh Karthik won the toss and opted to chase.
Batting first, Virat Kohli smashed an unbeaten 68 off 44 which included five fours and three sixes to set a target of 176 runs for Kolkata but his efforts went in vain as Bangalore team again failed to defend a decent total.
In the second innings, Lynn and Sunil Narine (27 off 19 balls) provided a solid foundation adding 51 runs in the powerplay overs.
Sunil Narine lost his wicket to Murugan Ashwin after scoring 27 runs. Robin Uthappa scored 36 off 21 balls, which included three fours and three sixes before being caught in deep off Murugan's bowling.
Nitish Rana suffered an injury while playing and returned to his camp after scoring 15 runs. Andre Russell was outplayed Mohammed Siraj and returned to the pavilion after scoring a duck.
Dinesh Karthik played a beautiful inning in the death overs and his 23-run knock off 10 balls helped in reducing the asking rate.
Under-19 start Shubman Gill finished the game by hitting a boundary with five balls remaining.

Virat Kohli faced the same issues again and he needs to re-strategise his bowling plans to salvage cricketing pride as the batting department did its job and bowlers and fielders failed miserably.
Openers Quinton de Kock and Brendon McCullum gave Bangalore a perfect start as the two build a partnership of 67 runs.
While de Kock contributed 29 runs, McCullum made 38 runs before losing their wickets.
Andre Russell bowled three overs and gave away 31 runs and took three wickets for his side.
