David Warner signed off from the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League with a phenomenal performance with the bat as Hyderabad defeated Punjab by 45 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium on Monday.

Warner, who opens for Hyderabad, scored 81 off 56 balls to take the side's total to mammoth 212 for 6 in their 20 overs against Punjab.

The hosts produced a clinical performance with the ball to restrict to 167 for 8 to consolidate their fourth on the points table.

It was Warner's last game as the batsman will now head back home to Australia to start his preparations for the upcoming World Cup in England and Wales which starts from May 30.

Warner's wife Candice, who stood by her husband through the tough times when he faced one-year ban for his alleged role in ball-tampering, wrote an emotional message on Twitter after her husband played yet another and last match-winning knock for Hyderabad this year.

"Outstanding finish to your ipl season @davidwarner31. The girls and I are forever proud of you. Your work ethic and your never give up attitude is inspirational. We love you," Candice wrote on Twitter.

Warner was given a standing ovation by Hyderabad fans as he left the field.
