The temple trust said that the decision to implement the dress code was made after several complaints were received about inappropriate clothing that made other devotees at the temple uncomfortable.
&ldquo;We have received complaints over the clothes of some devotees from the other devotees. They want some restrictions on the clothing. Devotees need to follow the decision taken by the temple trust,&rdquo; Pawan Tripathi, the treasurer of the Trust, told Mid-Day.com

"There are large crowds at Sangam Nose, Nag Vasuki Marg and Sangam Marg. I appeal to the devotees to not pay attention to any rumour. Ghats have been made in the entire Kumbh area; devotees don't need to move towards Sangam nose only. Devotees should take a holy dip at the ghats nearest to them," Yogi appealed while ensuring proper medical treatment of the injured persons.

<h2>Enhancing India's navigation capabilities</h2>
The GSLV-F15 will place the NVS-02 satellite into a Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit, said ISRO. NVS-02 is part of the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS), also called NavIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation), which aims to provide accurate Position, Velocity, and Timing (PVT) services across India and areas extending up to 1,500 km beyond its landmass.&nbsp;

"It (NVS-02) will be put in the geostationary orbit at 36,000 kilometres and it will increase the number of satellites of our navigation constellation from 4 to 5 and that will improve the overall accuracy of the positioning which we get from this navigation satellite," Director of Space Applications Centre (SAC)/ISRO Nilesh Desai said before the launch.
With this launch, India now has five out of the seven satellites planned for the NavIC constellation in orbit.&nbsp;

ISRO marks 'mission success' with historic 100th rocket launch from Sriharikota

India fired back at allegations of interfering in Canada's elections, calling out a recent Canadian report for its "baseless" claims.&nbsp;
In a strong-worded statement, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) rejected the report, stating that it was actually Canada that had been meddling in India's internal affairs.
"We have seen a report about alleged activities on purported interference. It is in fact Canada which has been consistently interfering in India's internal affairs," the statement read.&nbsp;
"This has also created an environment for illegal migration and organized criminal activities. We reject the report's insinuations on India and expect that the support system enabling illegal migration will not be further countenanced," it added.

A recent report from the Canadian Commission alleged that after China, India was actively interfering in Canada's electoral process.
"India is the second most active country engaging in electoral foreign interference in Canada. Like the PRC, India is a critical actor on the world stage. Canada and India have worked together for decades, but there are challenges in the relationship. Many of these are long-standing and inform India's foreign interference activities," the report said.
A 123-page report highlighted the expulsion of six Indian diplomats in October 2024, labelling them as "agents."&nbsp;
The report referred to the October 14, 2024, incident when Canada expelled sex diplomats after its police, in response to the evidence gathered, suggested that they were involved in an Indian government-backed "campaign of violence".
India retaliated by expelling six Canadian diplomats, including Acting High Commissioner Stewart Wheeler, and withdrawing its own High Commissioner and other diplomats from Canada, citing security concerns.
"In October 2024, Canada expelled six Indian diplomats and consular officials in reaction to a targeted campaign against Canadian citizens by agents linked to the Government of India," the report alleged.
The report also accused New Delhi of spreading disinformation surrounding the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
The report, however, contradicted itself as it stated that Canada could not find a link to a foreign state in Nijjar's killing.
"Disinformation is also used as a retaliatory tactic, to punish decisions that run contrary to a state's interests. This may have been the case with a disinformation campaign that followed the Prime Minister's announcement regarding suspected Indian involvement in the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar (though again no definitive link to a foreign state could be proven)," the report said.

I hope that as an educated, enlightened and sensitive woman and the Chief Minister of Delhi, you will rise above petty interests and will not say such misleading, dangerous and baseless things in the interest of public welfare and peace and will also advise your leader not to do so," the LG said in his letter to Atishi.
&ldquo;Arvind Kejriwal has accused the Haryana government of poisoning the Yamuna river and attempting mass genocide in Delhi. This is extremely objectionable, unfortunate and undesirable. This blatantly false statement has the potential to not only create confusion and fear among the people of Delhi but it can also create extreme hostility between the two neighbouring states," he added.

<h2>Kejriwal said&nbsp;Haryana govt has "poisoned" Yamuna water</h2>
This comes after Kejriwal on Monday levelled serious allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party, stating that the BJP-ruled Haryana government has "poisoned" the Yamuna water supplied to Delhi so that "people die" and the blame comes on the AAP.
"If this water would have entered Delhi only to be mixed with the drinking water, many people would have died in Delhi. It would have caused mass genocide," Kejriwal had alleged.
<h2>AAP hits back at LG Saxena</h2>
Meanwhile, reacting to Saxena's remarks, AAP claimed the ammonia levels in Yamuna have reached an alarming 7.2 ppm -- 700 per cent above permissible limits -- and yet Saxena has "failed" to act on this serious public health crisis.
"If he cannot rise above partisan politics, he should step aside. This is not about politics; this is about saving lives," AAP said, as it accused the LG of protecting the BJP-led Haryana government.
The Delhi Assembly elections will take place in a single phase on February 5, with the counting of votes set for February 8.

"We came in a batch of 60 people in two buses, we were nine people in the group. Suddenly there was pushing in the crowd, and we got trapped. A lot of us fell down, and the crowd became uncontrolled," she said, weeping outside the hospital where the injured had been taken.

According to the statement released by MEA, out of the 13 fishermen who were on board the fishing vessel, two suffered serious injuries and were undergoing treatment at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital, while three other fishermen who received minor injuries also received treatment. In a statement, MEA stated, "An incident of firing by the Sri Lankan Navy during the apprehension of 13 Indian fishermen in the proximity of Delft Island was reported in the early hours of this morning. Out of the 13 fishermen who were on board the fishing vessel, two have sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital."&nbsp;

Indian Consulate Officials in Jaffna have visited the injured fishermen at the hospital to seek their welfare and are extending all possible assistance to the fishermen and their families," it added. According to the statement, the Indian government has always emphasised the need to treat issues related to fishermen in a humane and humanitarian manner, keeping in mind livelihood concerns. In a statement, MEA stated, "The use of force is not acceptable under any circumstances whatsoever. Existing understandings between the two governments in this regard must be strictly observed."&nbsp;
This incident highlights ongoing tensions between Indian fishermen and the Sri Lankan Navy over disputed fishing rights in the Palk Strait. Arrests and detentions of Indian fishermen have become a recurring issue, prompting diplomatic efforts from both the Indian central and state governments. Recently, 41 Indian fishermen detained by the Sri Lankan Navy were repatriated to Chennai Airport. The petition was filed by a Kerala-based woman, Safiya PM, who stated that she is a non-believer Muslim and, therefore, should be governed by the Indian Succession Act, 1925, with respect to inheritance, instead of the Muslim Personal Law (Sharia Law). She claimed that her father is a non-practicing Muslim but has not officially renounced the religion. According to Sharia law, a person who leaves Islam is ousted from the community and is thereafter not entitled to any inheritance rights in parental property, the petition said.&nbsp;

"The absence of any provision for having the inheritance rights, even after leaving the religion, puts the citizen in a dangerous situation as neither the secular laws of the State nor the religious laws would protect her. As per Sharia law, one who has left Islam will lose her inheritance rights."&nbsp;
"It is the prayer of the petitioner that she should be governed by the provisions of the Indian Succession Act, 1925," the petition stated. India: Haryana CM Saini slams Kejriwal for claims of water contamination

Days after the state reported the first death due to Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS), the government of the western state of India, Maharashtra, appealed to the citizens not to panic and visit a government hospital in case any symptoms appeared.
Citizens should also implement preventive measures, the government said in its appeal.
According to the state public health department release issued late on Monday night, there are 110 suspected patients of GBS and one death has been reported until now.
Of these, eight have been diagnosed as confirmed GBS cases.
Of the 110 suspected patients, about 88 are from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), 15 from the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) and seven are from other districts.

Out of this, 73 are men and 37 are women while 13 out of these are currently on ventilators.
Nine patients suspected of suffering from GBS were reported on Monday (January 27), of these, seven were from PMC, one from PCMC &amp; one from other districts.
A Pune-based Chartered Accountant from DSK Vishwa area in Dhayari died. He had been suffering from diarrhoea for a few days and had gone to his native village in Solapur district for a private visit. After feeling extreme weakness, he was admitted to a private hospital in Solapur where the doctors diagnosed him with GBS.
He was shifted to the ICU for further treatment as he was unable to move his hands and legs.
After his health improved he was moved out of the ICU on Saturday but he faced breathing problems and later died. This was confirmed by the relatives of the deceased.
According to the Public Health Department, GBS is an autoimmune disorder where the body's immune system attacks the peripheral nervous system. It is characterised by muscle weakness, and in severe cases, paralysis.
The common symptoms of GBS include sudden weakness in hands or legs/paralysis, trouble while walking or weakness with sudden onset of diarrhoea for sustained periods.

The public health department said it has taken a slew of measures including a visit by a state-level rapid response team to the affected area immediately, and instructions to Pune Municipal Commissioner and rural district authorities to increase surveillance activities.
As many as 44 stool samples were sent to NIV Pune and tested for enteric virus panel. Moreover, 14 samples tested positive for Norovirus and five stool samples were positive for Campylobacter.
A total of 59 blood samples have been sent to NIV. All samples have tested negative for Zika, Dengue, and Chikungunya. 
About 34 water samples from different parts of the city have been sent for chemical and biological analysis to the Public Health Laboratory and samples from seven water sources were found contaminated.
Instructions have been given to increase health promotion activities and an appeal has been made to private medical practitioners to notify any GBS patient to the respective public health authorities.
&ldquo;Citizens should not panic. The state's health department is prepared to implement preventive and control measures. In house-to-house surveillance activities, 23,017 houses in Pune MC, 4,441 houses in PCMC and 7,610 houses in Pune rural areas have been surveyed (total 35,068),&rdquo; said an officer from the state public health department.
The citizens have been urged to take every possible care to keep the water quality good, drink boiled water, keep food fresh and clean, and avoid infection by not keeping cooked and uncooked food items together.

After feeling extreme weakness, he was admitted to a private hospital in Solapur where the doctors diagnosed him with GBS. He was shifted to the ICU for further treatment as he was unable to move his hands and legs. After his health improved he was moved out of the ICU on Saturday but he faced breathing problems and later died. This was confirmed by the relatives of the deceased. According to the Public Health Department, GBS is an autoimmune disorder where the body's immune system attacks the peripheral nervous system. It is characterised by muscle weakness, and in severe cases, paralysis. The common symptoms of GBS include sudden weakness in hands or legs/paralysis, trouble while walking or weakness with sudden onset of diarrhoea for sustained periods. As many as 44 stool samples were sent to NIV Pune and tested for enteric virus panel. Moreover, 14 samples tested positive for Norovirus and five stool samples were positive for Campylobacter. A total of 59 blood samples have been sent to NIV. All samples have tested negative for Zika, Dengue, and Chikungunya. About 34 water samples from different parts of the city have been sent for chemical and biological analysis to the Public Health Laboratory and samples from seven water sources were found contaminated. Instructions have been given to increase health promotion activities and an appeal has been made to private medical practitioners to notify any GBS patient to the respective public health authorities. “Citizens should not panic. The state's health department is prepared to implement preventive and control measures. In house-to-house surveillance activities, 23,017 houses in Pune MC, 4,441 houses in PCMC and 7,610 houses in Pune rural areas have been surveyed (total 35,068),” said an officer from the state public health department.
