Ganeshpeth police station registered a complaint in the evening over the alleged burning of the Islamic holy book.
Following the complaint, large crowds of Muslim community members gathered at various parts of the city, including Mahal, Kotwali, Ganeshpeth, and Chitanvis Park. Police used tear gas to control the crowd.
<h2>Bajrang Dal denies allegations</h2>
Bajrang Dal has denied the allegations, saying that they had only burned an effigy of Aurangzeb during demonstrations.

Additional police officers were also summoned to increase security.

Gabbard said that the lessons Lord Krishna imparted to Arjuna serve as a constant source of strength, peace, and comfort throughout her day.&nbsp;
"Well, my own personal spiritual practice, my personal relationship with God is the centre of my life and I do my very best every day to live a life that is pleasing to God and what better way to do that and to do my best to be of service to all of God's children. And so in different times of my life, whether serving in war zones in different parts of the world or the challenges that we face now, it is Krishna's teachings to Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita that I turn to in the best of times and the worst of times and continuously learn critical lessons from Krishna to Arjuna that give me strength, that give me peace, that give me great comfort through all of the days," she said.
She further expressed happiness about being in India and talked about her love for Indian food.
"Let me just say I love so much about India. I always feel at home when I'm here. The people are so welcoming and kind and the food is always delicious. The Dal Makhani and anything with fresh paneer is delicious," she said.

Gabbard said on Monday that a direct dialogue has been going on between India and the US at the very top over the tariffs issue.&nbsp;
The US Director of National Intelligence is currently on a two-and-a-half-day trip to India as part of a multi-nation visit and arrived in the national capital early Sunday (Mar 16).
Speaking to ANI on the sidelines of the think tank Observer Research Foundation&rsquo;s annual multilateral conference Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi, Gabbard talked about the economic relationship between the two nations, saying there was an opportunity to strengthen them.
&ldquo;What I have heard from the Indian government officials that I&rsquo;ve spoken to over the last few days, there is an opportunity here to see,&rdquo; she said.
&ldquo;There is more potential for strengthening our economic relationship, and I&rsquo;m glad to see that they&rsquo;re looking at it in a more positive light than just one that is focused in a negative way when we look at tariffs,&rdquo; she added.
She further said, &ldquo;Prime Minister Modi is looking out for what is in the best interest of India&rsquo;s economy and the opportunities available to the people of India. Tulsi Gabbard meets India's Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

Arvind Singh Mewar, a member of the erstwhile royal family of Mewar and the chairman of the HRH group of hotels died early Sunday in Udaipur after a prolonged illness, family sources said.
Mewar (81), a descendant of Rajput king Maharana Pratap, was ill for a long time and under treatment at his residence in City Palace in Udaipur.
He is survived by his wife Vijayraj Kumari, son Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar and daughters Bhargavi Kumari Mewar and Padmaja Kumari Parmar.
The funeral will take place on Monday.
As a mark of respect, the Udaipur City Palace will be closed to tourists on Sunday and Monday He was the younger son of Bhagwant Singh Mewar and Sushila Kumari. His elder brother Mahendra Singh Mewar died in November last year.
Arvind Singh Mewar was educated at the prestigious Mayo College, Ajmer and pursued hotel management courses in the UK and US. He received training in various international hotels.
He lived and worked in Chicago for many years before building the HRH group of hotels as a professionally managed corporate organisation.
An avid cricketer, Mewar made his debut in the Ranji Trophy as Rajasthan&rsquo;s skipper in 1945-46 and had an eventful career for almost two decades.
He was a polo player in the 1970s before he gave up the sport due to medical reasons.

On Friday, the Trump administration confirmed the visa revocation, stating that Srinivasan had been expelled for "advocating for violence and terrorism." However, officials did not provide details of any evidence supporting this claim. Srinivasan&rsquo;s lawyers strongly denied the allegations, insisting she had not engaged in illegal activities or promoted violence.
<h2>What happened when immigration officials approached Srinivasan?</h2>
Srinivasan's first run-in with federal agents occurred eight days before her departure when three immigration officers arrived at her Columbia University apartment. Having recently discovered that her visa had been invalidated, she refused to open the door, according to The New York Times.
The agents returned the following night, only hours after another Columbia student, Mahmoud Khalil, was arrested by immigration authorities. However, Srinivasan was not at home during their second visit.
Following Khalil&rsquo;s arrest, Srinivasan decided to leave immediately. She packed some belongings, left her cat with a friend, and boarded a flight to Canada from LaGuardia Airport. By the time agents returned for a third time on Thursday night with a judicial warrant, she was already out of the country.
<h2>'Fearful for my life'</h2>
In an interview with The New York Times, Srinivasan spoke about her fear and uncertainty, stating, "The atmosphere seemed so volatile and dangerous." 
She also raised concerns about the government&rsquo;s crackdown on free speech, adding, "I'm fearful that even the most low-level political speech... can turn into this dystopian nightmare where somebody is calling you a terrorist sympathiser and making you, literally, fear for your life and your safety."

Speaking about Gujarat riots, PM Modi described how a &ldquo;tense and volatile&rdquo; situation surrounded India and the world around the time.
Modi said, &ldquo;The perception that these were the biggest riots ever is actually misinformation. If you review the data from before 2002, you'll see that Gujarat faced frequent riots, curfews were constantly being imposed somewhere.&rdquo; He added, &ldquo;Before 2002, Gujarat witnessed over 250 significant riots.&rdquo;
The prime minister said that those responsible for the riots have faced justice from the courts, adding that following the incident, there hasn&rsquo;t been a single major riot in the state.
