Manipur Lok Sabha Elections 2024, Phase 2: India is currently going through one of its biggest elections with 28 states and eight union territories going to polls in seven phases. The first phase of polling started in the country on April 19and last phase will be held onJune 1. The results will be announced on June 4.
Manipur went into polls in the first phase of the election on April 19 and voted for one of its two constituencies- Inner Manipur.The northeastern state will vote in the second phase of the election on Friday (Apr 26). In the second phase, Manipur will vote on only one constituency- Outer Manipur.
Manipur has two Lok Sabha constituencies; Inner Manipur Lok Sabha constituency, with 937,464 electors and Outer Manipur, reserved for scheduled tribes and with 1,022,099 electors.

The Inner Manipur seat, which has a substantial number of Meitei voters, is presently held by BJP's Dr Ranjan Kumar Rajkumar, a Minister of State in the Narendra Modi government. The Outer Manipur constituency, which consists of 28 Assembly seats, isheld by NPP’s Dr Lorho S Pfoze.

The polling in Manipur will be held on April 19 and 26 and the result will be declared on June 4.
Manipur has two Lok Sabha constituencies: Inner Manipur and Outer Manipur.
Voting in Manipur will be held in two phases on April 19 and 26. Inner Manipur will vote on April 19 and Outer Manipur will vote on April 19 and 26. This is due to the security situation in the state, which has experienced violence since May 23 last year.
In Manipur, four candidates are in the fray for polling for a portion of the Outer Manipur seat. “There will be 848 polling stations and an additional 9 special polling stations for people displaced by the ethnic violence in the state,” said Chief Electoral Officer Pradeep Kumar Jha.
The main contest in Outer Manipur is between the Naga People’s Front (NPF), which is a BJP ally, and the Congress, which has the backing of the Kuki community.
Inner Manipur 2019: In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Rajkumar Ranjan Singh of the BJP defeated Oinam Nabakishore Singh of Congress by a margin of 17,755 votes.

Outer Manipur 2019: In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, NPF candidate Lorho S Pfoze defeated Houlim Shokhopao Mate of the BJP by a margin of 73,782 votes.
In the 2014 general elections, BJP won 1 seat, and NPP 1. BJP had registered a historic mandate by winning 282 seats - an absolute majority in the Lok Sabha. The Congress was reduced to its worst-ever tally, winning only 44.
