Ex-Bigg Boss contestant Sofia Hayat known for her controversial statements and changing avatars (from a model to a nun and now back to being a model) is now in news for taking a dig at beauty pageants.

In an Instagram post, Sofia shared her views on society's fixation with beauty ideals and beauty pageants that further the cause of these set standards.
In the post, Sofia questions who judges these pageants and added that "beauty does not have a single face or form”.
She said, “Miss World is outdated.”

Sofia also raised important issues on lack of diversity at such world forums by asking, “[W]hy isn’t a woman in a hijab there..or a somalian with a lip plate there..or a painted American Indian..or a transgender..are they not beautiful?" while identifying who the real Miss World is: “[T]he real Miss World..is a woman who is Mother nature..a woman with a child..a woman who has stretch marks on her body to show she has lived..to show she like the world..is diverse and different,” she wrote adding that “Miss World..would never allow herself to be judged by the standards of others..let alone a committee!”

Manushi Chhillar won the Miss World title after competing against 108 contestants from various countries.
Ever since Manushi was crowned Miss World, she has been at the receiving end of memes and jokes by some while being congratulated and praised by Indians all over the world including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ex-Miss World Priyanka Chopra.
