Not Just Sonam Kapoor, but Anand Ahuja too has changed his name post wedding

Not just Sonam Kapoor, but it looks like her husband Anand Ahuja is also a trendsetter. Ahuja has added an 'S' to his name on his Instagram account. His name on Instagram now reads as 'Anand S Ahuja'.

Now, changing one's name and adding the husband's surname to one's own name is something that a lot of new brides do. Sonam too changed her name to Sonam Kapoor Ahuja on all her social media handles soon after she got married to Anand on 8th May. But it is surely refreshing to see Anand too adding Sonam's initial to his name post-wedding. 

Many had criticised Sonam, a self-proclaimed feminist for changing her name. The actress had, in an interview to a publication, stated that no one had forced her to change her name and it solely her decision. "I have always said that I am a feminist. I have the choice to change my name to what I want to. Kapoor is also my father’s name. So it is a man’s name anyway. I chose to keep both. Anand has also changed his name but nobody wrote about that. I just decided to do it on social media because that’s my platform to say that I have made a choice. It is my personal choice. Nobody put a gun to my head. You should ask him (Anand). He has also changed his name and decided to add something as well.”

Twitter, meanwhile, has given a thumbs up to Anand's name change and lauded him for breaking the trend. 

The couple got married in a traditional Sikh ceremony in Mumbai on 8th May. The who's who of Bollywood attended the gala reception that followed. 

Post wedding, Sonam made appearances at Cannes as an ambassador of a beauty brand. Now, the actress is gearing up for the release of her next film 'Veere Di Wedding'.
