Actress molestation case: She yelled at accused only during flight descent, says Vistara

The actress yelled at the accused passenger only during the descent of the flight and the cabin crew were all seated in their seats because it’s mandatory to have no movement during descent, said Vistara sources

Earlier, the actress alleged molestation attempt by a man sitting behind her on a Delhi-Mumbai Vistara flight. The man allegedly touched her neck and her back repeatedly with his feet.

In an Instagram post, she alleged that a middle-aged man sitting behind her on Delhi-Mumbai Vistara flight tried to molest her.

According to Vistara sources, the airline is yet to contact the accused male passenger. All cabin crew have been summoned for inquiry in the incident, Vistara sources added.

According to Vistara sources, the actress did not bring the incident to notice of the crew till the flight commenced descent. After landing, the crew inquired about the incident and asked the actress and her mother if they want to file a complaint but they denied, Vistara sources said on the alleged molestation attempt.

Meanwhile, Rekha Sharma, Chairperson, National Commission for Women (NCW) said ''I just saw the video on Instagram and my heart goes out to her. I am really horrified the way this incident happened and after that, the crew didn't help this girl. That was very shocking because Vistara claims that it has zero tolerance.''

Criticising the airlines for not naming the accused, she said ''I would like to tell Vistara that if they have zero tolerance why they have not named this person till now. Naming them is very very important. We would like to tell her (the actress) that we are there to help her out in any way we can.''

Vistar hasn't sensitised their crew to take action against men torturing women on the flight, Sharma said and added she was taking suo moto cognizance of the incident and giving notice to Vistara.
