Bayern Munich set to sign Joao Palhinha from Fulham after missing out in 2023 summer transfer window
Bayern Munich are finally set to land long-term target Joao Palhinha after a deal was struck between the sides as reported on Sunday (June 9). Palhinha, who will become the club’s first summer signing missed out on a move in 2023 despite having arrived in Munich for a medical. However, with the transfer window deadline done, the move was not completed. Palhinha will join Vincent Kompnay’s squad once he is done with the Euro 2024 with Portugal.
Palhinha to Bayern deal done?
Having missed out on a move in 2023, Bayern came back for the player as they consider him an important part of the team rebuild. This comes after reports also linked Joshua Kimmich with a move away from the Bavarian club. It is reported that he will cost in the region of $50 million for the Munich side and will bring an end to the transfer saga. The 28-year-old will be a key to Bayern’s midfield and will soon have his medicals.
It is also reported that Bayern will complete the medical before the Euro 2024 while the player is in Germany. Palhinha will play an important role as Portugal targettheir second Euro title in eight years having previously lifted the continental showpiece in 2016.
