'Thugs of Hindostan' records lower second weekend than Shah Rukh’s 'Fan', Salman’s 'Tubelight'

Now in its second weekend, Aamir Khan’s ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ is struggling to hold its foot at the box office. The film went on to collect a mere Rs 2.25 crore on its second Sunday. This takes its total box office collection to around Rs 139.50 crore. 

The film boasting a huge star cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh has failed to create magic in spite of getting a good head start with advance bookings and raised curiosity. It opened at a whopping Rs 50 crore, becoming the first Bollywood film to make a half-century on its first day.

‘Thugs of Hindostan’ made just Rs 5.25 crore in its second weekend, which is lower than Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Fan’ and Salman Khan’s ‘Tubelight’. According to, ‘Tubelight’ had collected around Rs 7.50 crore in its second weekend while ‘Fan’ made around Rs 7.75 crore.

If reports are to be believed, Aamir Khan is back to work with a web series based on the epic Mahabharata, according to a report published in Filmfare.
