Taylor Swift brings immense financial gains to every city she arrives! 2023 was the year when the pop star helped boost the economies of several cities by simply adding them to their Eras Tour roster. Some economists call it "Swiftlation", while others simply refer to it as "The Taylor Swift Effect".
With the release of her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, "The Taylor Swift Effect" is becoming more and more evident. Wondering how? Well, she recently named a London pub in her song and in no time, it started witnessing an unprecedented footfall from Swifties.
The lyrics of Taylor's song "The Black Dog" read, "I am someone who until recent events you shared your secrets with and your location. You forgot to turn it off. And so I watch as you walk into some bar called The Black Dog."

Amy Cowley, the marketing consultant for The Black Dog Pub, spoke to Independent and revealed that they had to turn people away because they were at total mass capacity this weekend.
Cowley said, "Last night we were turning people away because we were at total mass capacity. We’re expecting a lot more. We’re all hands on deck, getting more team members in, getting security at the door to help manage the big crowds."

Cowley added that the staff is shocked to see the attention they've been getting through the song. "To now get that sort of international level of recognition is surreal but it’s lots of fun. It’s been a bit of a whirlwind, but we’re enjoying it," she added.
TTPD has a total of 31 tracks. It was released in two parts - the main album and The Anthology. As many had expected, Swift took jibes at her exes with her new songs and gave a clearer picture of what led to her breakups in the past. The album is breaking charts and massively trending online.
