Salman Khan reportedly cancelled Bigg Boss shoot after Baba Siddique's death

On Saturday (Oct 12), Baba Siddique, leader of the Nationalist Congress Party of Ajit Pawar faction and three-time MLA was shot dead in Mumbai'sBandra.

He was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to bullet injuries. After the shocking news of Siddique's death broke, a huge crowd of his followers gathered outside the hospital. The late politician was a renowned personality andhad very close connections with several Bollywood superstars.

Salman Khan cancels Bigg Boss 18 shoot

Soon after receiving the shocking news, actor Salman Khan was among the first celebrities who reached the hospital to be with the politician's family during thistough time.

As per the reports, the actor was shooting for Sunday's episode of the famous reality show Big Boss Weekend Ka Vaar when he got the heartbreaking news. Salman reportedly cancelled the shoot and rushed to the hospital.

In several viral videos, Salman can be seen arriving at the Lilavati Hospital, guarded by heavy security.

Salman and Siddique shared a very close bond. The actor was a regular attendee of Siddique's famous iftar parties.

Apart from Salman, actors Shilpa Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Raj Kundra and Zaheer Iqbal also arrived at the hospital after Siddique's death.

Shetty along with her husband Raj Kundra was captured arriving at the Lilavati Hospital. In a video shared by the paparazzi, the actress was visibly emotional as she was leaving the hospital in Mumbai.

Sanjay Dutt, who was close to Siddique and his family, was seen visibly affected by the politician's death. While leaving the hospital, he refrained from answering any of the paparazzi's questions.

Baba Siddique's death

On Saturday, Siddique was shot outside his son and politician Zeeshan's office in Bandra East. He was brought to the Lilavati Hospital for treatment at around 9:30 PM, but he couldn't survive.

Dr Jalil Parkar, Lilavati Hospital says, quoted by ANI, "Around 9:30 pm Baba Siddique was brought here. When he was taken into the emergency his pulse or BP was not recordable. The ECG was a flat line...We shifted him to the ICU. He was declared dead around 11:25 pm. He had bullet wounds on the chest.."
