Laapataa Ladies star Chhaya Kadam pays emotional tribute to her mom as she debuts at Cannes

The woman of the moment, Chhaya Kadam, who recently enthralled the audience with two back-to-back great performances in Madgaon Express and Laapataa Ladies, debuted at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
Chhaya is at the festival for the screening of her film All We Imagine As Light. Directed by Payal Kapadia, it is the first Indian film in 30 years to have been selected in Cannes' competition section, the Palme d'Or. The last was Swaham,which was released in 1994.
Chhaya took to Instagram and shared pictures of her look at the French Riviera. She chose a cream saree and purple blouse for the first day at Cannes.
The actress wore a traditional nose ring, tied her hair in a bun and wore white flowers to complete her look.
In the caption, she revealed she always dreamt of taking her mother on a flight but couldn’t do so while she was alive but metaphorically did it by wearing her saree and the Maharashtrian nath (nose ring) at Cannes.
She wrote in Marathi, "My dream of taking you on a flight remained unfulfilled....but today I am content that I brought your saree and nose ring to the Cannes Film Festival by flight. Still, Mom! I wish you were here today. To see all this. Love you, Mom, and miss you a lot."
