I Know What You Did Last Summeris set to make a comeback with a sequel as Sony announced that they have a release date in mind for its reboot.
The slasher hit that was a massive rage at the time of its release in 1997, will get a sequel by director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.
The sequel is called by the original film’s name and will release in the US on July 18, 2025. Jennifer has co-written the script with Sam Lansky after an initial script from Leah McKendrick. Neal Moritz will produce the film.

Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr to feature in reboot?
It was also earlier reported by various publications that Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. were in talks to reprise their roles from the first movie. The original I Know What You Did Last Summer starred Hewitt, Prinze, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe.
It was penned by Scream scribe Kevin Williamson and was based on the 1973 novel of the same name from author Lois Duncan. The film was abouta group of friends who are stalked by a villain with a hook after they tried to cover up a car accident. They end up meeting a tragic ending.
